This was the worst experience I’ve ever booked. The tour operator did not show up and did not message us any details about failure to show up. There was no excuse. He says he came and we were not there, but we waited 45 minutes after the intended tour start and messaged him throughout the day with no response. It was supposed to be hotel pickup from a place with less than 50 rooms. None of the staff saw him at all.

You replied shortly after: "Perfect, we are in the hotel lobby." At 8:00 AM, I arrived at your hotel, which is only a few minutes from our office. At that exact time and location, I picked up another wonderful guest — Mr. Rob and his family — who can confirm our presence. Unfortunately, you did not appear at the pickup point. It later became clear that you had mistakenly boarded a vehicle from another tour company. This type of mix-up can happen in busy hotel lobbies, and I truly wish we had connected earlier to avoid this unfortunate situation. Even after the tour, when I received your messages, I called you immediately and offered to help — as a fellow human being, not just a tour operator. You had been dropped off more than 1.5 hours away by the other company, but I still offered to come assist you. I’ve proudly operated tours for over 17 years, not only in Portugal but around the world. My reputation is built on passion, punctuality, and personalized service, and I stand firmly behind the integrity of how we manage our experiences. While I truly regret that you missed the tour, I respectfully ask future readers to consider the full context. Our Douro Valley tours run on tight schedules due to set winery appointments. Krishnan was a great tour guide and prudent chauffeur. For its use, it has 5 stars. He carried countless snacks and drinks in his first-class van, some of them made by Frau, which were allowed to be enjoyed free of charge. He tried to read all our wishes from our eyes. We visited 4 different wineries. Especially the last one, Kopke/Barros, was absolute top.
