I imagine it would have been a good experience. However, the meeting point is very unclear. We waited 45 minutes in drizzle and did not see the tour operator. No one with any kind of signage was around, and we looked. He says he was at a bank, we were at #8 rue de rivoli where we were supposed to meet. Where was the bank?Very unclear. My phone didn't work so I didn't receive any messages until back at the hotel. Viator will not refund the fees as the operator would not ok it. I completely understand not receiving a full refund, but feel we should have received something as everything was quite unclear.

Richard took us through all the charm and history of Marais on a cloudy Sunday morning. Quintessential Paris experience starting w award winning baguette and coffee. We ended the tour with one of his recommendations for lunch. The shops, churches, parks, and architecture were impressive in such a high energy area of Paris. Felt like we were touring with a friend. He knew Paris inside and out. Highly recommend.

The guide was interesting and knew a lot about the neighborhood. The tour was a mix of history and small local shops. Recommend this tour as a good orientation to a neighborhood that would be well worth revisiting.

We loved the tour guide as he was a Parisian convert from brooklyn NY. Home to us. An unusual happen stance. Very knowledgeable of life in past and present Marais !! Very generous with stories and secrets of the Marais. Thank you for your time ! This is a Viator comment (not tour guide) that the agent I booked with on the phone was not clear it was considered a PRIVATE tour and not group. My error not to be careful too and was only aware less than 24 hours to change to group tour due to price point and not an issue with the tour guide who we enjoyed immensely. I need to be more careful in booking is lesson learned and visitor needs to be transparent in conversation with multiple bookings can be confusing. I escaped this issue and hope for a favorable response from visitor as I am a strong consistent customer.

A wonderful tour led by a 20-year ex-Pat resident of the Marais neighborhood! Richard provided lots of interesting history and architecture as we walked, as well as took us into several local shops. We even stopped and had a coffee and pastry together at his favorite local patisserie. Highly recommend Richard as a tour guide - great way to get a local’s perspective on Paris!!

We truly enjoyed our time with Richard and got an insider’s view of the neighborhood. The tour is not at all taxing, more like a stroll with a friend, with some insights and historical facts thrown in for good measure. We were introduced to shops and products that we would have otherwise passed by, not knowing what we were seeing - Paris can be overwhelming at times, there’s so much to take in! Richard grounded us, and got us oriented to Le Marais! This tour would be a great way to begin a trip, I think. We booked at the end of our trip to Paris, so I look forward to coming back to explore more of what Richard pointed out for us!

Nice walk , nice commentary on the architecture but not enough discussion of the history which is what intrigued us to go there. It’s about the people and not the 18 Century building, windows and dormers.

Truly an amazing tour with Richard. Very friendly and personable and made us feel welcome immediately. This is his neighborhood and his knowledge and pride shows through. We highly recommend this tour!!!!!
