Meeting and Pickup

Meeting point

  • Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, Pl. du Carrousel, 75001 Paris, France

Meet our team, dressed in blue attire, at the Arc du Carrousel. This is a monumental arch with a horse-drawn chariot on top. Standing with your back to the entrance of the Louvre Pyramid, you will see it across the road, before the entrance to the Tuileries Garden.

End point

  • Louvre Museum
    75001 Paris, France

The tour ends in the lobby of the Louvre, just under the Pyramid.

Itinerary

Meet your Louvre guide by the Arc du Carrousel, and then enter the popular Paris art museum with your prebooked ticket to bypass the long sales lines. With more than 35,000 works of art (not counting the works in the basements), the Louvre Museum can be an overwhelming place. However, you’ll go straight to its highlights and discover some hidden gems, too, maximizing your precious time inside the gallery.

Hear the stories behind the brushstrokes of Leonardo da Vinci’s "Mona Lisa," and check out sculptures such as Canova’s "Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss" (aka the "Cupid and Psyche"), as you explore with your private guide. Feel free to ask questions and linger where you wish, taking advantage of a private tour that’s totally at your own pace.

After three hours inside the museum, bid your guide goodbye. You can stay inside to revisit favorite works, or explore more on your own.

So huge, a guide is a must!

Julie_B, May 2022
We kept looking at the crowds and being grateful that we had a guided tour. With more than 38,000 artworks plus thousands of other items (jewelry, furniture, plates, etc.) it would be hard to know where to start on your own. Our guide, Anais, took us through the major sections, starting in the historic palace moat so we had a picture of the building's history. She guided us through the crowds, including bustling school groups, and discussed many significant and famous works. With Covid interrupting her guiding experience, Anais said we were her first private tour, which was a surprise since she did a great job. At the conclusion of our tour, Anais gave us directions to backtrack to the Angelina restaurant that we had seen along the tour, where we enjoyed a lovely lunch on a Louvre palace terrace!
