Our guide Monty was incredible. His knowledge of the building and history was truly amazing. The tour makes the visit much more enjoyable and allows you to focus on multiple works of art and at the same time gather an overall history of the museum.

Tour was easy to find right outside the Louvre. No wait were taken right in which was a huge plus. There is no food or drink inside or bathrooms so that was the first stop. The louvre is huge you would miss a lot by trying to tour yourself. We saw the Mona Lisa. The tour guide was very informative and interesting, my teenager girls really enjoyed it.

The Louvre can be (very) crowded, especially around the Mona Lisa. However, the guide navigated us well around the crowds, and with patience and perseverance you can get to the front to admire the Mona Lisa. So much more to see as well!!!

Our tour guide, Julian, was so knowledgable and was able to give us a wonderful overview of the history of the Louvre, French and art history. You felt his passion for each artists technique and historical relevance. We were able to traverse this crowded, iconic museum with ease. I highly recommend.

Our guide, Monty, was SUPER! He texted me that he was heading to our meeting place. Only 4 in our group. Monty was SO knowledgeable about dates, facts, artists. He brought us efficiently to all the major exhibits and MORE. We really loved the kings apartment and those HUGE chandeliers! He also brought to an ungrounded area of an old castle they are excavating. Very interesting!

Our guide, Mo, was excellent! It was easy to fund her in front of the Louvre entrance, she organised all of us in the group very well and guided us through the key artefacts in the complex very skill fully. I was with my family including two teenagers. The biggest testimony of success was that at dinner my daughter said that she really enjoyed the tour which was informative and engaging. Well done, Mo!

If I could give this a 0 I would! We arrived 15 minutes early as stated at the very vague meeting point, and because we went to the wrong tour guide, our guide left us. 15 minutes before the tour was actually booked for! It’s a very crowded area and the guide had nothing to help them stand out. We were literally on the wrong side of the statue. I tried calling and calling, texting, etc but they would not answer or return my calls. Again, they left us 15 min before the actual tour time! Company is refusing a refund as well. I’ve been booking and using tours through Viator for YEARS and never had an issue before.

If we’re being honest, this review is quite something.
First, the tour does not start 15 minutes early. It starts at the scheduled time — always. In fact, guides often wait a few extra minutes as a courtesy, which is exactly what happened here.
You mention arriving early but being “on the wrong side of the statue.” Just to clarify, the meeting point is at the Louis XIV statue at the Louvre Pyramid — the only large equestrian statue directly in front of the pyramid. Hundreds of guests find this exact spot every single day without issue.
Also, this was a group of around 20 people. A group of that size, with a guide holding a visible sign, is not exactly subtle. If you were on the opposite side, walking a few steps around the statue would have very quickly resolved the situation.
As for communication — our guides actively try to reach guests, especially at the Louvre. In this case, the guide reported that you indicated you were still 30 mins away and ultimately arrived well after the tour had already started. At that point, with timed entry and a full group waiting, the guide cannot delay the entire experience indefinitely.
We understand it’s frustrating to miss a tour, but this situation was not due to any failure in delivery.
We’d recommend arriving at the exact meeting point and being ready at the scheduled time — it tends to make the experience go much more smoothly.

We’ve done many victor trips all over the world and this may be the worst, especially for the cost. While our guide was very knowledgeable, he wasn’t friendly, didn’t even have us introduce ourselves to one another, didn’t make eye contact and had terrible body odour so you couldn’t stand next to him which was challenging when you’re in a jam packed museum.
We would spend tons of time in one spot talking about one painting and then miss out on all the many things to do. His storytelling was super flat and like he was reading from a textbook.
This may be better if you get the right tour guide but I wouldn’t risk it and would book somewhere else!

You describe the guide as “terrible,” yet also acknowledge that he was very knowledgeable. That’s quite an unusual combination. Our guides are highly trained professionals with deep expertise in art history, so the level of content you experienced is very much intentional.
Regarding the structure of the tour: spending time on selected masterpieces is exactly what a highlights tour is designed to do. The Louvre Museum is not something anyone can “cover” in a single visit, so we focus on depth over rushing past everything.
As for the museum being crowded — yes, it is. Constantly. If there were a way to make one of the busiest museums in the world empty on demand, we would happily implement it for all our guests.
On the matter of proximity to the guide: we provide audio headsets specifically so you don’t need to stand right next to them. Guests are free to keep a comfortable distance and still hear everything clearly. So choosing to stay extremely close — especially in a crowded environment — is entirely optional.
The comment about introductions is also a bit puzzling. This is a guided tour, not a networking event. The focus is on delivering the experience, not facilitating group socialization.
We understand that not every guiding style suits every preference, but the tour itself — content, structure, and delivery — was fully in line with what is offered.

The meeting point was not very clear. I also couldn’t find the name of the tour. Thank goodness they called me. What I didn’t like is that the lady saw that my baby was sleeping on the stroller and made us walk a bunch of steps!!! There was also another girl that was on a wheelchair and made them walk up all those steps as well. I have been in different tours and they have told us where the closest elevator was. However this lady didn’t. The museum was also really hot. We also mentioned that we wanted to see napoleon apartment. She asked who wanted to see it and a bunch of people raised their hand. However she finish her tour late which caused us to miss it and we couldn’t see it.

Starting with the meeting point: this is the same clearly defined location used daily at the Louvre Museum, and hundreds of guests find it without issue. That said, as you mentioned, the guide called you and ensured you were located, so the situation was resolved.
Regarding accessibility: this is a group tour of up to 20 people, and it is clearly stated during booking that it is not fully disability-friendly. The Louvre itself is a historic building with a layout that involves stairs and limited elevator access. Guides cannot privately reserve elevators or reroute an entire group of 20 people every time stairs are encountered.
For guests with specific mobility needs (or traveling with strollers), a private tour is usually the better option, as it allows for a fully adapted pace and route.
As for the mention of another guest using a wheelchair — those guests made an informed decision to continue the tour knowing the conditions. It’s not for others in the group to decide on their behalf.
Finally, about the museum being hot — unfortunately, that’s a common reality in one of the busiest museums in the world, and not something the guide can control.
In short, the tour was conducted as designed: a structured group highlights experience. We understand it may not suit every situation, but it was delivered as described.
