This is a lovely tour, that said - be prepared for a couple of things: It is a 4+ hours bus ride to/from the Abbey. I don't remember reading anything that mentioned the 350+ stairs to get into the Abbey, and the steep climbs and narrow streets/pathways leading there. It was beautiful and we are so glad we went - but if you are facing any physical limitations, be prepared!

We were on our own once we got to Mont St. Michel. The review I'm writing pertains to our experience with Lenor, the person in charge of getting us to the site.
- I called the previous day about the audio download and I was told that we would get all the info when we got on the bus. When we boarded, I had to ask her for the info and she said we didn't order the audio. She wasn't equipped with the right information about her passengers. When we had issues downloading it because the bus didn't have wi-fi, she was not helpful at all. We asked if there was wi-fi at the site and she didn't know. No empathy, left us to fend for ourselves. Her quick answer was to call customer service.
- We should have started the audio way before we arrived the site. This information she didn't share with us. So we had to skip the beginning because it didn't pertain to Mont St. Michel. We should have been told to start the audio when we got to Normandie.
- She didn't know that we could understand a bit of Spanish. She was saying more info in Spanish than in English.
- Lack of information as to what to expect when we got to the site: restaurant suggestions, restroom info (we learned we had to pay), among others.
I have used Viator for years and this is not the level of excellence I have always experienced.

Jose Antonio and Fred were great guide and driver on a clean and comfortable bus for an easy tour— There are a lot of steps for those who are not looking for a moderately challenging walk, but it was lovely and very Self contained with restaurants on site and lots of good history.

While the bus is a smooth ride, the one we were on had a lot of broken seats (stuck in a reclined position) which made it difficult to sit in or sit behind. Luckily the bus wasn't full so we were able to find other seats, but there were others who were stuck in broken seats. The rest of the trip was as expected and described. You spend 4 hours driving + 30 minutes at a stop for food and restroom breaks. Be prepared those places are busy with a bunch of other buses, but even the ladies' restroom line moves fast enough. You have about 3 1/2 hours on Mont St Michel, but part of that will be waiting in line both ways for the shuttle unless you're walking the 35 minutes. The village is charming and there are several places to sit and eat or just grab a sandwich. The Abbey is impressive whether you do the audio tour or not.

To clarify, the DESTINATION (Mont St. Michel) is amazing. The JOURNEY was not. I give the tour company 1 star. There are so many concerns I will lay out below. 1) Our day started with the expectation that travellers arrive at the pick up point at 6:55am, with the coach departing at 7:15. By 7:15 our coach had not arrived yet. It was not even communicated to us that the coach was late until 7:25. We departed at 7:45, ultimately costing us 30 minutes at our destination. 2) We found seats and discovered that 2 of our 4 seatbelts were broken, and one of the seats was permanently reclined with the lever broken. Safety is clearly not a priority. 3) All of our seat pockets had someone else’s trash in them from a previous tour. Cleanliness did not seem to be a priority either. 4) The overhead storage area is laughable. There are about 3 inches of clearance. It works for a jacket, but will be of no use to get backpacks or souvenirs out of the way. 5) I have used Viator dozens of times in many countries, and am generally impressed with the tour companies. Most tour guides exude passion for their country and home, giving enthusiastic stories about the history, geography, culture, food, etc. This tour guide spent about 10 minutes of the entire day telling us about the sheep of the region and the Eiffel Tower lighting up at night. At one point she told us that if we hadn’t paid for an audio guide, “just admire the landscape.” This was a huge missed opportunity for the company to really elevate the tour. She did ask for tips at the end however. 6) Definitely false advertisement, telling customers on the website that we will get 4 hours at the destination. We got to the actual monument at 12:45 and were told to be at the shuttle stop to leave by 3:30. You will not get 4 hours to spend there, even with an on time departure and no traffic. 7) There are no visible USB ports on the coach. Our tour guide did inform us of their location after we left Mont St. Michel, more than halfway through the day. 8) No WiFi on board. While this is mentioned on the website, there are frequent areas of the countryside with no signal. 9) No available bathroom. There was a bathroom but it was not made available. This is difficult if travelling with children and expected to wait 2.5 hours for a rest stop. Overall, while the destination is well worth the drive, this tour company was very expensive for what it was.

Mont Saint Michelle is approximately four hours and 15 minutes from Paris by bus. Despite the lawn bus ride, it is more than worth it at the end as you approach this beautiful island. The beautiful countryside which is covered. With sheep it’s very tranquil. The host was very knowledgeable about the history of the area as well as Mount Saint Michele . I do recommend. Long day with 4-5 hours each way. Excellent guides and driver. Interior of bus was dirty and one of our co-passengers had to sit in a very uncomfortable seat the whole trip. No other seats available. Mont. st Michel should not be missed Worth the long day!

It is a big bus commute of around 4 hours - one way - for about three hours of exploration time. Good for a taste of a really special place, though it can be crowded and the shuttle buses can take a cut of your time.

We loved Mont Saint Michael and the bus was easy and on time, but if you have any issues with claustrophobia, don’t use this tour. The seats are practically on top of each other, and if the person in front of you reclines, their head is in your lap.

Mont. Saint Michel is breathtaking!! Well worth the day spent driving there and back. Our tour guide was top notch and very knowledgeable of the history of this place. She was fun to spend the day with. The bus driver was very safe and professional. He kept us on time even though we ran into some tricky traffic issues on the way back. I would highly recommend this tour.

I never seen like that before in an island. Mont Saint Michelle is something you need put it in your bucket list. If you vist Paris France, you need to include 1 day going there using Viator leaving 7:15 am back by 9:00 PM.

We had a great time visiting Mont St. Michel. Our tour guide for the bus was Nina, and she nice and outgoing. The drive to and from the landmark was 6 hours total (broken up by 1 stop each direction), with 4 hours allotted time at the location. At the Mont St. Michel, you are given some direction from the tour guide, but for the majority are on your own. You do not stay with your group, but navigating is simple, and the locals and workers are very helpful. We were blessed that the tour day fell on a heritage day, and our tour was free, although pricing for the tours on any other day seemed very reasonable. We did pay an “extra” small amount to visit certain parts of the Castle not included in the normal daily tours, and it was worth it as well. Although weather was off and on rainy and windy, it seemed to only add to the great experience!

Mont St.Michel is stunningly beautiful. Tips for travelers: 1) LOTS of stairs to climb, some quite steep, 2) 4-hour bus trip there, 5-hour return trip (the bus did stop mid-trip each way so there’s a break) 3) we took the nonguide audio only option…worked well.

Be prepared for a long day with limited time at St. Michel, which is shortened by every minute you’re stuck in traffic. But we know this going in and this an excursion for those who just want to get a feel for the place … if you want more, make your way on your own or stay overnight.
If you are strategic about your visit and tour with a sense of urgency, you will have a great time. Make your way to the Abbey quickly and immediately and you will have ample time to see everything. On your way down, do your souvenir shopping … if indeed you like to look in shops. If you want to eat there, either grab something quick on the way down - if you want to go to a sit-down restaurant, you’ll have to give up on the shopping … there ain’t time to do both.
The bus stops on the way there and back for washroom breaks and snacks, so I recommend breakfast and dinner at the rest stops.
You have the option of a guided tour or to roam around by yourself, we chose the latter.
The driver and guide were both great and so there best to make this tiring day as enjoyable as possible.
I have no regrets and highly recommend this tour if your time is limited.

We did not know that the guided tour will be loaded on our phone thru the QR code, and did not bring any blue tooth ear piece. Disappointed that we didn’t get the audio tour. Would have been nice if we were informed by email on the day before the tour. The driver was excellent and the guide was knowledgeable. The experience of seeing Mount St. Michael was magical, in spite of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.

It's a long day - everything went smoothly and as planned. The island is beautiful and definitely worth visiting at least once in your lifetime. From Paris it's a long trip (4-5 hours, with a 30 minute rest stop each way) and you only have about 3.5 hours there. The guide was friendly and you do get a map and audioguide to help you navigate your way around and understand what you are seeing.

Too much travelling on the bus. Make sure all those who are booking this tour tick the earphone option. Without the earphone experience it just sightseeing as all are written in French. No ENGLISH.
