Dangerous drivers. To avoid up to the point they select better their divers.

franck_r, Apr 2024
this tour is great, agree with all positive point describe in the other comments. I gave a very bad note as the driver for the way back (not the driver from Panama city to the harbor, the way back) was driving very dangerously. As examples: driving very close to the front car, on a wet road, bypassing as car arrive in the front, unstable car at speed above 90km/h (car was balancing right to left), speeding limits. I am driving approximately 40.000km /y, in many different countries, mostly europe, travel for business since 20+y, in many diverses country int he world, and this was a very bad experience. I would not recommend using this tour up to the point they have a better selection of the drivers they contract.

Hi Franck, thank you for providing your detailed feedback about your experience during the drive. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your overall tour and wish you had give us at least a few stars for that. We do take the safety of our guests very seriously and we consistently follow up with each of our drivers to ensure they drive safely. We are currently investigating to see who the driver was. It is not acceptable to drive recklessly and we will take appropriate measures to ensure this kind of driving does not continue. We hope you enjoyed the remainder of your Panama stay.

I will do it again!

The tour was SUPER GREAT! The only negative point: we had to run after our guide. We didn't get any schedule. Food was delicious 😋 Waitresses very kind.

Response from Host, Mar 2024

We're glad you enjoyed the tour and food! Sorry to hear about the pace. In future, please inform the guide of any concerns on spot. Your feedback is appreciated.

Disrespectful to even rude behavior of male staff

Imchael_K, Jul 2023
Unfortunately my experience was very uncomfortable. The (basic) facilities did not bother me at all, but some of the staff was way too flirty/touchy and downright rude. From putting their arm around me when I did not ask for that, to grabbing my hand/arm in passing, to making pictures of me in my bikini to calling me racist names. As a solo female traveler I would say I felt most unsafe during this trip. I did not expect this, as it was an organized tourist trip, which I paid for fairly. I am disappointed by the lack of decency of the staff. For other female travelers, I would recommend going with a friend!

Response from Host, Jul 2023

We are very sorry to hear your comments about the staff. Following your feedback we have investigated with the island management, as this is the first time this kind of behavior was brought to light to us. We have been working for several years with this island and have personal good relationships with them, visiting the island regularly. We have found that the rude behavior came from a boat tour crew that is not related to our operation. Unfortunately, during the day, Isla Perro receives several boat tours that are organized from various agencies. Unfortunately, we cannot control the behavior of boat crews of other organizations. In our case, we have trained our staff (car, boat, and island staff) to focus on customer service and to be always respectful. We hope you understand that we do our utmost to provide a great experience for our guests. Again we are very sorry to hear your comments. The island staff is now aware and will pay attention to the boat tours arriving to their island, ensuring that nothing of this type of behavior will be repeated. Gunas are very strict in their policies and do not accept any kind of crime or bad behaviors, which are severely punished. Thank you for your understanding and we hope you enjoyed the remainder of your Panama vacation.
