Bandits ATV in Panama was absolutely incredible—friendly, professional, and truly dedicated to making the experience unforgettable. The trip was exciting and well-organized, and the staff went above and beyond in every way. I accidentally left something in the car after the tour, and Alfredo didn’t hesitate to drive all the way back to return it. The whole experience was amazing. Highly recommend Bandits ATV for anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure in Panama!

Very disappointing. Guides were great but the equipment is junk.

Greg_C, Apr 2026
Overall a disappointing tour. I feel I am being fair and reflecting my disappointment with the company rather than the individual guides that were working that day. First, you don't get your own side-by-side, but share with your group. I sort of understood this, but at almost $800/usd for a group of four, it is pretty expensive to essentially rent one for such a short tour. I mentioned this upon arrival and was at least granted a split of 2/2 so my daughter can have the experience with her friend. So at the start of the tour there were three buggies (2 for my group and a 3rd for a group of 3). About ten minutes into the tour the other group's buggy broke down when a part fell off from behind the tire while driving. This stopped the whole tour for about 45min while the guides worked to fix it. Our group sat off the side of the trail in the heat waiting for theirs to be repaired in order to continue the tour. Fast forward about another 15 minutes when the buggy I was driving broke down on a hill climb. Same thing, we waited about a half hour while they tried to fix it on the trail. Finally, they decided they couldn't fix it so we loaded up into the backseat of the other buggy and left the broken one with the other guide. We are now down to two side by sides, one field repaired, and the other we doubled up in. Another 20 minutes goes by, and you guessed it, our group's buggy breaks down. At this point, we again were stuck on the side of the road waiting for it to be repaired but it was stuck in "limp mode." Overall, we didn't make it to any waterfall and had to cut the tour short from all the breakdowns. With only about 30 minutes of actual driving, it was more annoying than fun by that point. Now the guides were trying to do their best, and I recognized that, however, the company is to blame here. The equipment was no where near up to a standard of safety in regards to maintenance or general operation. About every light on the dashboard was on when we initially got into them, power steering was in and out while driving, and they shook and shuttered like an airplane in heavy turbulence. Sad, because this could be a great tour if the company would provide the proper equipment and provide a backup plan if/when breakdowns happen instead of just being stranded watching guides trying to repair them on the side of the trail. Now my experience might be a fluke, but reading other reviews it seems to happen at least some of the time, and judging by the condition of the equipment it will happen again unless maintenance is addressed. I am requesting at least a partial refund in the act of fairness due to the undelivered experience and chalk it up as just one of those kind of days. I'm not holding my breath. I'll keep you posted.

We stayed at the Panama...

Emily_C, Mar 2026
We stayed at the Panama Canal entrance on the Pacific Side. We had almost a 2 hour ride to get to the tour. The vehicle we were picked up in was clean, the air conditioner worked and he spoke English. We pulled up to tire shop and they brought the atv around. We were a party of 4 and all rode in 1 atv but we did have to option to ride 2 and 2. The guides did not speak English but they used their phone and a translator app to communicate. We went to the waterfall which was beautiful and we stopped a little farmers market and was able to purchase some delicious cut up fruit. They did offer us the option to eat lunch there but we decided to head back. The ride back to the hotel took almost 3 hours with the traffic.

ATV tour

You will get dirty and wet. The drive from Panama City to the start of this adventure is at 2 hours or more depending on traffic.

Do NOT book this tour.

Evian_S, Dec 2025
Do not book any tours with Bandits Adventure Tours. I want my money back. I submitted a refund request and the supplier rejected it. If I can’t get my money back than I hope this review deters even just one person from booking this tour. For background info, the tour consisted of 6 people (3 couples essentially, therefore 3 ATVs). Each person does NOT get their own ATV, you’d think the cost of the tour would be a bit more affordable. The tour is also reported to be “approx 4 hours”. We were picked up from our hotel at 9:10AM and returned at 5PM. We were the first pick up and drop off so the other couples had a later drop off. Why so long of a tour?! Because of how many times our ATVs broke down. All 3 ATVs were barely functional and not maintained. We had issues with all 3 vehicles on the way to the waterfall and on the way back. 1 of the ATVs completely stopped working. The tour guide had to drive it back forcing the two tourists to join another ATV (mine and my partners ATV). This meant that we had to sit in the back for the entire half of the excursion to allow the other couple a chance to experience driving the ATV since their ATV was malfunctioning and not really drivable the first half of the tour. We did not pay to sit in the back seat of an ATV for half the tour and this was unfair as we were supposed to take turns driving it (me driving there and my husband driving back) but that was no longer an option. The second couple had their ATV get stuck in a body of water we were supposed to cross. The water is around knee level and required the tour driver to take his shoes and socks off to help get the ATV out of the water. The third ATV (ours) would occasionally flash lights and emit a strong gas scent and every time it did you were forced to park the ATV and turn it off immediately (yes, even if you were stuck up or downhill). One of the drivers flipped the ATV. Yes, flipped it. We turned a corner and saw their helmet and shoes on the floor, along with the ATV upside down. Thankfully he was okay but this isn’t something anyone should have to witness especially when you’re still a drive out from your finishing point. The actual driver to and from our hotel was far from accommodating. The tour was supposed to be only 4 hours as mentioned earlier but it took 8 hours. Guess what?! No access to food or restaurants and no bathroom stops. When we got in the van to head back to the hotel we asked the driver if we can make a stop and he look PISSED; long story short, we didn’t make a stop. Mind you the drive from Panama City is about 2 hours one way. Also, none of the drivers or tour guides spoke English. Now for the waterfall. When we arrived at the waterfall, there was a bit of a steep hike downwards which honestly wasn’t the most safe route. It was rocky, muddy, slippery, and the tree branch railing that existing was far from supportive. One of the girls slipped on her way down. Once again, due to all the malfunctioning ATVs, we didn’t spend any more than 10 mins at the waterfall. There was NO swimming opportunity. Additionally, the driver told us to bring a change of clothes but I’m not sure how they expected anyone to change when there is no nearby bathroom. We were expected to wrap ourselves with a towel for privacy. Such. A. Joke. Oh AND the waterfall we saw wasn’t the “majestic el chorro macho waterfall”. It was called La Tortuga and if you google the distance between these two falls it’s 40 mins so I’m not sure where the hell we were taken. But there was a random Panamanian man there with his dog who knew the tour guides who was oh so comfortable asking us for money.

Overall decent experience

Lashella_M, Oct 2025
Overall decent experience. Very beautiful views. But make sure you carve out an entire day for this excursion. 1.5-2 hours one way there and back just from your hotel, and 3-4 hours for the actual excursion. Vehicles were a little sketchy as in bad brakes and the alignment of the steering wheel was off. Also, there was no volcano, if there was, you wouldn’t know because the guides didn’t really talk. Waterfall was really pretty though.

Overall a really great...

Ellie_M, Aug 2025
Overall a really great tour! The views are beautiful, the waterfall was amazing to see, and we had a lot of fun. Our guide didn’t speak great English, which was fine as one of my friends spoke Spanish, but he was very pleasant and made sure we were happy and knew what we were doing. The cool water was really good on a v v hot day! The ATVs are old and aren’t super super easy to drive, but after a bit of practice it was great fun. One of my friends was is a bit of an anxious driver and so didn’t enjoy driving the ATV, but the rest of us got used to the vehicle quickly and enjoyed driving. I would really recommend to someone wanting an exciting excursion - we all had a great day. The views at each stopping point, and throughout the drive, were incredible! The only thing I would flag is that this tour is 4 hours, from the point you get to their store. We chose the option to be picked up in Panama City, which was almost 2 hours driving each way - so this added a long time onto the day! We were gone for more than 8 hours However, our driver was great - on time, efficient and friendly, and the added cost for hotel pick up was very reasonable given how far away we were!

started off disappointing but ended up exciting.

Keith_H, Jul 2025
These are older side by side ATV and they will break down. They aren’t perfect but with the help of the guide team they will get you there. Diego was the hero for this company. His expertise and professionalism kept the ATV’s working. At the end on the way back to the office he showed his skills and it made up for all the mishaps. Out of all 10 of the guys in my group everyone had cancelled all complaints. I do suggest that you guys tighten up The steering, buy new tires and fix overheating problems immediately. Thanks Diego for making our Mancation guys trip a success!

William_P, Jul 2025
The views were magnificent and the exhilaration of driving the end ATVs was phenomenal. Equipment malfunctions, and comes and breakdowns very disappointing. The four hour excursion ended up being close to eight hours, which caused us to miss a second booking in the afternoon. In the fact that our guy did not speak any English whatsoever was again disappointing.

Incredible Tour!

Burke_B, May 2025
This was an incredible tour and I would encourage anyone to take advantage of it. Though our tour guide, David, spoke very little English, he still managed to show us such a good time. This tour was worth every penny and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

This is a must try!

changtasha, Feb 2025
This was a great experience. For my husband and I we will be back! I didn’t expect the tour to be so long, and was pleasantly surprised when it did. We went through all types of conditions. We drove on the main road through the towns which was nice, then the breathtaking volcanos driving through dams, clouds, rain, sunshine, dust and mud. It would have been helpful if we were able to speak Spanish as none of the guides could speak English, but they were still nice and helpful. We also went to the waterfall.

ATV experience

Emily_F, Jan 2025
This ATV-ing experience was super fun and really intense! The guides did not speak much English but we managed through the use of google translate. We went through many different types of terrain which was really exciting (forest, roads, rivers and mountains). We stopped a few times to take pictures of the beautiful scenery. They brought us to this cute little town where we visited the waterfall and ate at a small restaurant that had pretty good food! Towards the end, my phone fell out of the ATV while we were driving. Luckily I realized pretty quickly and the guides stopped and took their ATV to go look for it. Thankfully, it was found pretty quickly with no damage. Thank you, we had a great time :)

So much fun

Migdalia_K, Jan 2025
I have never been on an an Atv before but this trip was so much fun. From 9am till noon was awesome but then it rained after that and we were soaked. We did stop for lunch at a BBQ place and it was delicious. Next time I'd like to see the waterfalls and volcano. Fun trip.

Beautiful!!

Tallia_C, Dec 2024
This was awesome!!!! My boyfriend and I had an adventurous time seeing the sights and the ATV’s were perfect. Seeing the villages and views was mind blowing.

Once in a lifetime experience!

Lead_T, Nov 2024
We had a fabulous trip with Bandit. Our UTV to the jungle and waterfall was exciting. The young men that took us were great from the trails to the jumping into the waterfall. They checked on us to make sure we got plenty of pictures. Definitely worth every penny, and would do again. Best experience ever

ATV excursion

Jasmine_B, Nov 2024
This was the best ATV excursion I’ve ever done. We literally went off road and saw the most beautiful views.

It was a inconsiderate to not communicate with us that it was canceled prior to us waiting to be picked up.

Jasmine_D, Nov 2024
Alfredo messaged me on What’s App to confirm my pick up the day before. I confirmed, and he followed with a text asking me to reschedule due to the weather for the following day. The next day, we arrived at the pickup point at 8am, which we agreed to. I messaged them at 7:55 that I was waiting out front. At 8:15am, they responded back that the weather was bad again, and they “can’t do it”, and he would contact the office to proceed with a refund. I spoke with local drivers that were out front who helped us with trying to call Bandits through the WhatsApp App on their personal phones, but had no success. They helped us find another tour and provide transportation, and he stated that the weather was good for the tour and it’s likely that, after he called around and got info when helping us to reschedule, that they were overbooked for tours. Viator makes me choose a date that I went, but this trip never took place. It was extremely inconsiderate to not contact us prior to canceling. We had to send multiple texts to receive a response.

Response from Host, Nov 2024

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and miscommunication you experienced regarding your ATV Jungle Adventure tour. Your feedback is invaluable, and we take it very seriously. First and foremost, I want to emphasize that safety is our number one priority. When weather conditions pose a risk, we must make the difficult decision to cancel tours for the well-being of our guests and staff. High chances of rain can create hazardous conditions on our jungle trails, particularly for ATV tours. Regarding the communication breakdown: 1. We strive to notify guests as early as possible about cancellations. You should have received multiple emails from the booking platform about the weather-related cancellation. We'll investigate why these notifications didn't reach you and work to improve our communication channels. 2. I deeply regret that there was a delay in responding to your messages on the day of the tour. This is not representative of our usual standards of customer service, and we will address this internally to prevent such incidents in the future. 3. While local weather conditions can sometimes differ from forecasts, we must err on the side of caution when safety is concerned. However, we understand the frustration this can cause, especially when other tours might still operate. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional experiences, and we're truly sorry you weren't able to enjoy our tour. As a goodwill gesture, we'd like to offer you a complimentary tour on your next visit to Panama City, subject to availability and weather conditions. Once again, I apologize for any distress caused by this situation. We appreciate your understanding regarding our safety-first approach and hope you'll give us another opportunity to showcase the beautiful Panamanian jungle and volcano. Thank you for your feedback, as it helps us continually improve our services.

This was an amazing experience!!! Our guide Diego was great. It’s defiantly a great adventure for thrill seekers. We got to explore the jungle and even venture to a beautiful waterfall and take a swim! Highly recommended. The best part of my Panama trip !

Best UTV Ever!

Michelle_G, Aug 2024
We make a point to ATV and UTV wherever we travel and this definitely #1. If travelling from Panama City it's a whole day experience but absolutely worth it. And the lunch was amazing 👏

Definitely an interesting experience

Mekeda_H, Jul 2024
This was a bit difficult for me, but I will give this 5 stars because it is definitely a worthwhile experience and I am still very glad that I did it. It is well worth the money; with the long period of driving to go to the beautiful waterfall and back, including the drive through the most amazing and cute town in the hills/mountains, and the opportunity to stop and eat with ample time - again, well worth the money. If you are in good standard shape/agility and able to handle the little 10 minute thread to the waterfall & back, and also interested in the thrill of this adventurous and adrenaline filled experience, then this is definitely for you. Great

Lots of fun

Patricia_B, Jul 2024
The ATV tour was very fun. It was longer than we expected but where we were taken was beautiful and lots of fun. It did not start on time so we were standing around for a while which was a little annoying. The people who took us on the tour were very friendly

Worth the experience

Christina_S, Jul 2024
This was a great experience. The staff is amazing. They’re friendly and understanding. This is really bang for your buck. You get 3 excursions in one trip. You get to see the entire Panamá here. This was the best ATV I’ve ever done. Please experience this.

Magnificent & Delightful

Ramon_W, Jun 2024
This was the best part of our 5 day stay. Great tour given with wonderful tour guide. Amazing waterfall and fun ride! I recommend i want to visit agai!!!

5 star experience MUST DO!

Green_C, Jun 2024
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️this was an amazing authentic experience the owner was so accommodating. This is a unique experience my husband and I have been all around the world and love ATV’s this by far is now #1 on our list of experiences. The route takes you up the mountain, you get to see how Panamanians live. You’re literally up in the clouds and off roading. The most beautiful scenery and then you see the town built within a 300,000 year old inactive volcano. This is for sure a lifetime experience. The vehicles used are new and safe which makes them so fun to drive. You definitely get the value for your money. If you’re staying in Panama City this is a must do!

Great ATV adventure

Shakira_M, Jun 2024
Awesome! Our guides were top notch. Loved the vehicles and mountain views. We ate lunch at a small restaurant and the food was delicious. We would definitely book with company again.

Great Panama Off Road Tour

Scott_K, Jun 2024
We had a great time and would recommend this to anyone. The entire trip was a fun, enjoyable, and safe trip and we got a chance to see parts of Panama we would never had gotten a chance to visit. Well worth your time and money!! The staff and owner are a top notch group going out of the way to make sure you are taken care of and communicated in English or Spanish. Great experience with a great company! Thanks

An experience to die for!!!!

Natasha_R, May 2024
