Overview

Herculaneum becomes a time-travel playground on this private walking tour designed especially for families with curious kids ages 6–11. Together you’ll explore the ancient Roman town buried by Vesuvius, visiting houses, shops, bathhouses, and the boat pavilion just like on our adult tour—but with an engaging twist. Kids get their own special map, complete with stickers, riddles, and games that turn archaeology into an adventure as they spot frescoes, mosaics, and everyday objects left behind nearly 2,000 years ago. The pace is relaxed and interactive, with plenty of moments for questions, discoveries, and “aha!” reactions. At the end, children receive a fun activity booklet to continue the experience at home. Unforgettable Private Tour With Antonell

We had a fantastic private tour of Herculaneum with our kids and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Be prepared for a decent amount of walking since our four year old got pretty tired, but our older kids did great and were totally engaged. It was warm the day we went so I recommend bringing water and hats. The ruins themselves are incredible. The artwork, mosaics, and preserved details are truly impressive and gave us such a vivid picture of life in ancient times. Our private guide Antonella was amazing. She brought the history to life in a way that was interesting for both the adults and the kids. Her knowledge and storytelling made the experience so much richer than if we had gone on our own. I highly recommend this tour for families. It is educational, memorable, and well worth it.

Perfect for families. We had our 7- and 8-year-old daugters with us for this, and Paola made it all so interesting and fun for them with just the right little games and activities to help bring the whole thing to life for them, which also helped all of us enjoy the visit. So glad we did this!

We set this tour up just a few days in advance bc I thought I booked it months ago but apparently I didn't! Paola was amazing. My 7yo hung on her every work and loved the games and my 3yo even had moments of interest which is a win bc he listens to no one these days!! Highly, highly recommend. Afterwards we went to Pompeii and were able to pick out the many details of Ancient Roman life we learned from Paola in a new location.
