Itinerary
Relax with hotel transfers from Monteverde to Selvatura Adventure Park, set within an unspoiled cloud forest reserve. Once there, head into the treetops with a guide to begin a 1.9-mile (3-km) walk along a network of suspended bridges that reveal the cloud forest from multiple levels.
Cross eight different hanging bridges ranging from 150 to 510 feet (46 to 155 meters) long and rising to 180 feet (56 meters) above the forest floor. Despite their dramatic height and length, the bridges are built to the highest safety standards, with wide walkways and strong weight capacities, creating the longest and strongest hanging bridge system in Costa Rica.
Moving at a relaxed pace, explore the forest canopy and understory while learning about Monteverde’s rich biodiversity. Along the way, your guide points out native plants and wildlife, turning the scenic walk into an immersive way to experience one of Costa Rica’s most celebrated ecosystems.

Truly amazing views above the tree canopies. We were able to capture sights of birds and monkeys aswell as lots of different species of trees.

The hanging bridges were a great way to see the cloud forest - the walk is suitable for people with minimal fitness. We saw lots of birds and plants. We also had a close encounter with howler monkeys - our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. He was very considerate of walking at a pace that suited us. A great experience 😎

Stephen was an awesome guide. We learned a lot about the flora and fauna on the various canopies is the cloud forest. He spotted animals for us and shared his telescope for viewing and photographs. Altogether fantastic tour!

Ok trip

Our guide was excellent! Definitely go with a guide. He showed us and taught us about the forrest and animals. He had a good sense of humour. Bring a raincoat or you can buy a poncho for 21$ there.

So interesting to experience the cloud forest at different levels and well worth paying extra for a guided walk. We didn't see many animals, but we learned about the cloud forest ecosystem on our tour, and the views were amazing. Unfortunately, the "before" and "after" of the hanging bridges walk seemed pretty chaotic and disorganized. We had to stand in a long line to check in, but we really didn't know what was happening - more information ahead of time about that would be helpful. Also, transport back to our hotel was included, but the shuttles aren't that frequent. That would also be helpful to know ahead of time. Luckily we only had to wait about 1/2 hour.

We were worried that this was going to be crowded (especially when we first arrived in Selvatura park where several visitors were lined up to go to the park and/or zipline), but upon arrival, we were separated into smaller groups. Our tour guide (I think Carlos was his name) was very entertaining and very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. He had a guidebook with pictures and a telescope to help us see animals from a distance. He took the time before crossing each bridge to listen and identify animals in the area. During the tour, we saw howler monkeys, tarantulas, various hummingbirds (and even a hummingbird nest in the trail towards the end of the tour!), and other local birds. We almost saw a quetzal (almost because it was hidden but according to our guide, he could hear the noise/call). We were particularly impressed by how our guide was able to sort the nature sounds from the nearby zipline activities happening in the area. Overall it was a great experience and we would do it again.

Beautiful tour with crazy views of the forest cloaked in mist. About 1.5-2 miles walk that our young kids could manage with a little help on the stairs and narrow areas. Definitely worth getting a guide to point out animals- we saw howler monkeys, a tarantula, and many birds. Highly recommend.

Wir hatten die Tour mit Juan Carlos. Er hat die 2,5 Stunden zu einen einmaligen Erlebnis gemacht. Er gab sich sehr viel Mühe seltene Vögel zu finden und uns zu zeigen und einige interessante Details über die Natur und Geschichte von Costa Rica zu erzählen. Danke
