This tour was really amazing! The guide went in depth with all the various processes (plants to consumption) on coffee, chocolate, and all the good stuff! Really cool to experience something inherent to Costa Rica, made the family trip more memorable! Really loved the coffee tasting at the end!

It was fun, hands on and educational activity. Highly recommended for all ages. We got to make a delicious chocolate paste from cocoa nibs, and to squeeze the sugar cane juice. I have been to chocolate museums in Europe, but enjoyed this tour much more.

A nice experience!
We spent roughly 2 hours on the property. Seeing how chocolate is made from beginning to end was very interesting! We wished there was more time spent on the coffee process. Overall very enjoyable! Our guide was fantastic- funny and so informative!

This was such a great way to learn about the history and botanical elements of each product and it’s always a plus to get to have snacks too! The tour focuses more on chocolate from what we experienced, so if you love chocolate and want to learn more about it, this is a great option! The pressed sugarcane was really cool to try and seeing the full process of coffee was also great! You will check in at the office right off the main road, get a colored wristband, and then get back in your car and drive further down the road to the start of the tour. There was ample parking and it felt secure and safe. You will join the group with your same colored wristband and off you go! If you get there early or have time after, there is a souvenir shop with a variety of products including chocolate and coffee from the farm. It was a great afternoon activity!

Really knowledgable guides and interesting tour. Loved learning about the whole coffee process as well as how they make the chocolate and grow sugar cane. The samples were delicious also!

"This tour was absolutely amazing! I learned so much about the process behind sugarcane, chocolate, and coffee. Our guide was hilarious and incredibly generous—we tried raw sugarcane, fresh sugarcane juice, chocolate in every form imaginable, and plenty of coffee. He even went above and beyond after the tour, giving us extra samples and fresh bananas. Highly recommend!

The tour was absolutely amazing! Everything was beautifully set up so you can get a clear sense of the processes (and taste things at different steps). Our guide, Jorge, was incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything very clearly. You also get to try coffee, hot chocolate, and sugar cane juice! Highly recommend this tour if you are in the area.

Well organized tour that took us through the process of making chocolate, processing sugar cane, and roasting coffee. Our guide was knowledgeable about the organization, growing processes, & area, making for a fun learning experience. We also got to sample their various products.

I initially had my doubts leading up to this tour, but glad we stuck to it. It was a very well done tour on a smaller production farm. I have been on coffee and chocolate tours elsewhere and this tour was impressive. The tour was broken into three parts: chocolate, sugar cane, and coffee. Jorge gave us great and accessible education on everything and we got to taste along the way. The two-hour tour was interactive and moved throughout the farm, with opportunities to sit. I will highly recommend this to my friends.

I highly recommend you set aside time to do this tour. The tour lasts 2 hours and teaches the history of sugar cane, Cacao, and hour chocolate and coffee is made. My entire family walked away more knowledgeable about local history of Don Juan and how coffee and chocolate are made and we all enjoyed it! A must do while you are in Monteverde!

Very informative and entertaining from start to finish. Mario was our guide. He was extremely engaging, personable and knowledgeable. The tour was interactive and we were 9 in our family with ages randing from 12-58. We all came away thinking it was a great experience. Would highly recommend.
