Amazing trip! The tour was so well guided and put together. You could turn off your brain and the tour guide had all the logistics handled
It was an amazing experience. We got there early to beat the crowd. Our tour guide Ricardo was very friendly and knowledgeable of the history of the grutas. 100% would recommend! Don't skip on this experience.
It was an absolutely wonderful experience. The express version still gave us plenty of time to enjoy each part of the experience without being rushed. We got back to the city with plenty of time to change and still enjoy dinner. Our guide Eduardo was great. Each part gave us amazing views that were absolutely breathtaking. If you’re thinking about doing it, let this be your sign to book the excursion!
Excellent trip. They are punctual, accommodating, our guide Abril was great. We travel quite a bit and this trip exceeded expectations compared to tour we’ve taken in Europe. Comfortable vehicle. We would 100% do it again. Don’t forget swim shoes, sunscreen and towels!
Gerry was the best guide we have EVER had on a tour. He was so attentive, brought water and snacks for the car ride, took photos all day, and even gave us Polaroids to take home. Mario got us to and from the hot springs safely and smoothly. They were so great, would recommend!

Our trip to Tolantongo Springs was absolutely amazing! The springs, caves and waterfalls themselves are breathtaking and truly feel like something out of a dream. The entire adventure was made even better by our incredible guide, Aaron. He was funny, informative, full of personality, and made the whole experience so much more fun and adventurous. He kept us laughing while also teaching us so much along the way!
The ride was comfortable, and our driver was wonderful and very kind also patient and professional. One thing to be aware of is that the drive to Tolantongo is very winding and can be rough on those who get motion sickness lol so definitely consider taking motion sickness medication beforehand. Thankfully, the staff was amazing and continuously checked on everyone to make sure we were okay.
Overall, this was such a memorable experience, and I would absolutely recommend it! Beautiful place, amazing staff, and an unforgettable adventure.

We had a fantastic time visiting the Grutas Tolantongo hot springs. This was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip! The scenery was beautiful and the whole experience was well organised. Our tour guide Raul was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout the entire day, offering to take photos of us and making sure we had everything we needed. Shout out to our driver Hugo too! Highly recommend this tour!
We have such an amazing time on this adventure. Despite the fact that the trip up was at an ungodly hour and a very uncomfortably long ride; it was well worth the trip. Our guide Michel was very nice and very knowledgeable. She shared a lot of tidbits while we hung out in the river. It was an amazing trip!

We had an amazing day at Tolantongo Hot Springs. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, and the hot pools surrounded by the mountains are a unique and unforgettable experience. We also really enjoyed exploring the different areas, including the river, caves and thermal pools.
A special thank you to our guide, Maria, who was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. She explained everything clearly, looked after us throughout the day and made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
The journey is quite long, but the incredible scenery and experience at Tolantongo make it well worth it. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico and highly recommended!

Very organized tour with proactive communication of pick up time the day before, our guide, Ric, explained everything along the way and stayed with us the whole time! Ric’s energy and presence made the experience so much more enjoyable! Our driver was also amazing! 10000/10 experience! Must do when you’re in Mexico City with Mexican Tales!!! Experiencing Tolantongo was amazing!!! The ranges and the Grutas were glorious!! I kept thanking God and said a silent prayer praising Elohim for His wonderful creations, as my Son and I soaked in His mineral waters while looking out across the mountains.
Our guide, Ara, took such good care of us and made us feel welcomed!!! She made sure we were safe and comfortable the whole trip. She even took pics for us on her phone and sent them to us, as we didn’t have plastic cases to protect our phones from all the water.
The driver was great too!!! He got us there and back safe and sound!!! Nice experience with Mexican Tales. Thank you, Ara and driver!!! Grateful!!!
Fabulous day and opportunity to bathe in thermal pools, explore caves and river. Well guided by Maria and although a long journey, was well worth the early start!
Make sure you bring a good waterproof case for your phone!
One of the best day trips I've ever had in my life. The tour guide was amazing, the hot springs, the cave, and the river were all amazing and incredibly worth it. Breakfast at the restaurant was great too :) All in all it was a 10/10 experience and I'm so glad I booked it.

Highly recommend this experience, my family and I had a phenomenal time even though we had to wake up really early for it. The hot springs were gorgeous and barely had people in the early morning, the caves were our favorite part, and the river was a great way to relax before heading back. Shoutout to Ricardo, our guide!

The early wake up and long drive is worth it! The views are incredible. Maria was our tour guide and she was great and even gave us a cute picture she had taken of us at the end which was a very nice touch.
Great experience, just know to please wear some water shoes. Do not wear flip flops, you will be sorry! 🤣🤣 You will walk in caves and waters where sharp rocks will be present. Also know you will walk a lot of steps, so be ready. But it is all fun and beautiful. Enjoy!
Awesome experience. Glad we got there early. Had a nice time in the pools with very few people. The best part is the caves for me. Left on time back to the city. Traffic experience may vary.
This was everything you could ask for from a trip to Tolantongo. A nice hour in the pools (not especially hot, but warm to fairly warm from the natural hot springs). But the highlight is the waterfall and cave. The mouth of the cave just dumps hot water on you and it’s a great relaxing experience. Make sure to do the side cave in the mouth of the main waterfall (bring or borrow a flashlight, it’s completely dark) before exiting and going to the “official” cave. Then a nice dip in the warm river. Michelle was a great and knowledgeable tour guide who handled a bilingual tour (Spanish and English) with ease, jokes, and a ton of local info. And she was well-prepared with tips, snacks, and info so you know what to expect. Couldn’t ask for a better guide!
This was an absolute magical experience! We came to Mexico City for a week of celebration and this was the PERFECT way to end our trip. Gerry was an amazing, caring and knowledgeable guide and made sure to teach us all about the sights. He was also patient with us and making sure we were always comfortable and taken care of. I highly recommend booking this trip and hope you get Gerry as your guide. Juan was also a fantastic driver and we felt safe the entire time. 10/10 experience!
This was a really great experience. It is an early morning, but it is worth it to avoid the traffic and get to the pools early. We arrived and there were hardly any people, so it gave you an opportunity to get pictures and be alone. Our guide was good and helpful the entire time. He showed us the different areas. We really loved the cave and the waterfall. It was the best part of the trip. Our guide also took us to a more secluded part of the river so that we could swim in it alone. Overall, it was a great trip and highly recommend.
I booked this experience well in advance. Although my hotel was not included on the pickup list, the company agreed to pick us up at my hotel in the historical district. The night before, the guide messaged me to confirm pickup at a location near my hotel. I told her that pickup had been arranged at Umbral Hilton. She asked for proof so I sent her a screenshot of the confirmation. She didn’t respond but I received a message from the company that their “policy had changed” and they were no longer picking up in the historical district due to road closures in the area (due to the World Cup game that was two days away). I understand the rationale, except there were NO road closings at 430 in the morning when the pickup time was and the road my hotel was on was never closed. The other issue that took place was with the driver. We went over a bump so hard that everyone flew out of their seats. I was wearing a seatbelt and my head still hit the ceiling. Hard. The guide was sweet, but not very knowledgeable. She didn’t tell us anything about the thermal pools except that the pools that were higher up were warmer. She was great when we went to the cave and stayed with us in the water, holding a flashlight for us in the dark sauna cave. On the way back to the van, my partner and I got stuck behind some ppl who were walking very slowly. The guide didn’t wait for us and we wouldn’t have been able to find her if we didn’t What’s App her. I was lucky that my phone wasn’t dead. I’d been using it for pictures.
Tip: Expect a rough drive the entire way.
Tip: Bring a cover up and a towel.
A great day out to get to know and appreciate rural Mexican life. Some aspects require an adventurous spirit, but well worth stepping (literally) out of your comfort zone
