This is a true in-home cultural experience including a fabulous trip to her neighborhood market. Margarita was a terrific hostess and very accommodating. She checked in with us on menu since we had young children with us to make sure everything would be good for the whole family. The market tour was good and she helped us with navigating purchase of some things for our place as well. She was also very patient as I tried to improve my Spanish with her. Highly recommend.

Our time with Margarita was somewhere between lovely and enchanting. My wife and I were hoping for an authentic, intimate cooking experience and we were bestowed exactly that with Margarita. Her home, neighborhood, local market as well as Margarita herself were all delightful and we would join her again in a heartbeat. Our family had a wonderful time learning how to cook with Margarita. After a short and informative visit to a local market, she welcomed us into her kitchen and we got to work. Her lessons were detailed and hands-on. Everyone got a chance to do some of the prep: rolling and pressing sopes from masa; roasting, cleaning, and stuffing poblanos; and scooping out and filling guavas. Our lunch in her garden was delicious. And it was all the more enjoyable after a couple of hours of cooking and talking with Margarita, who is a great teacher, a hospitable host, and a wealth of information about Mexican food and culture.

Margarita was so kind to invite us into her beautiful home to cook authentic Mexican meals! The recipes were easy to follow and made with ingredients we will easily find at home. We learned about the history of Mexican cuisine and also saw Margarita’s impressive cookbook collection! She recommended a few that I have already purchased :) We hope to come back to Mexico City and do another class with Margarita!
