Omg words cannot describe how great this tour was. Carlos was so knowledgeable and also kept the vibe up with the reggaeton music as we drove across Medellin. We learned about the rich history highlighting the great positive transformation of the city of Medellin and Colombia on a whole the past few decades. This tour is a definite must. Ending at communa 13 and having lunch with a view of the city was definitely a highlight. Nuff love from Jamaica 🇯🇲

Unforgettable Experience with Jamie!!
I can’t recommend this tour enough! From start to finish, Jamie was EXCELLENT! Honestly one of the best guides I’ve ever had. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Medellín. And he was really good at stating facts and staying neutral regarding the history, especially around Pablo Escobar and the transformation of Comuna 13. He explained everything with such clarity and respect, making the experience both powerful and eye-opening.
What really made the tour special, though, was Jamie himself. He was so punctual, patient, made sure comfort was priority, and even took amazing photos along the way (seriously, he could be a professional photographer!). He also knew all the best local spots for food, drinks, and souvenirs, places I never would’ve found on my own.
It felt like exploring the city with a friend who genuinely wanted me to have the best time possible. His love for his city is genuine and shows through his execution of the tour. If you're thinking about booking this tour, do it. It’s 1000% worth it, and I truly wish everyone could experience a guide like Jamie.

I had an incredible tour with Jaime. He arrived early at my hotel in the morning. I wasn’t ready and I was embarrassed but he said he would wait for me, no rush. We headed straight to the cemetery where Pablo Escobar and Griselda Blanco are buried. During the comfortable drive, Jaime gave me a comprehensive history of the narcos in Colombia and what life was like in Medellin during that time. We visited so many important places related to the history of the city. I really loved this tour because it combined Comuna 13 and Pablo Escobar’s life. The tour was scheduled to end at 1pm but Jaime let me stay longer in the Comuna which was great because it’s such a big area and deserves more time to explore. He didn’t leave my side ensuring my safety the whole day. I originally thought this tour was a little pricey but with the personal attention I received, I believe it was worth every penny. When I buy souvenirs, I tend to feel compelled to buy and help vendors but Jaime said there’s no pressure to buy. I wanted a Pablo souvenir and Jaime helped me to visit the vendors and find the one I wanted most. It was my final day in Colombia and one of the highlights of my whole trip. I would 1000 percent recommend.

I am originally from Colombia so I know when someone knows Pablo's story. Our guide Jaime has been our highlight of our trip. He REALLY knows the real story of not only Pablo's but also Medellin in general. He was funny, his English was perfect and you will feel super safe with him.
He knows everybody and is everybody's best friend. He showed us soo many details in Comuna 13 and Pablo's neighborhood that we wouldn't know going by ourselves. Dont miss this opportunity to learn the history of this beautiful city with tact and respect.

It was a great and amazing tour. The tour operator was quite flexible as I asked for a 30 minutes delay for the pick up. Jaime, the tour guide is very nice, friendly and knowledgable explaining very detail the story about Pablo Escobar and Communal 13, both from the official version and unofficial version.
We felt very safe walking along with Jamie both in Escobar Neigborhood and in Communa 13. Unlike our initial thought, Medellin is relatively safe now.
With heavy traffic in many places, the tour was much longer than scheduled. Thanks again both to Jaime and the operator. Overall, it is highly recommeded.

Jaime was a great host and had a lot of information on the history of Medellin and the difficult period in the 1980s-1990s. He shared both the good and the bad parts and really gave an insider's view as a lifelong paisa. Highly recommend this tour to see some of the most important sites in Medellin.

Jaime was the most incredible tour guide! His passion, love, and deep knowledge of Medellín and Colombia truly shined throughout the experience. You could tell how well-respected he is—everywhere we stopped, people knew him and greeted him warmly. It made us feel like we were getting a real, authentic understanding of the city.

This tour was extremely interesting and showed a good insight to the people and places in Medellin. Carlos was extremely knowledgeable about the places that we went to see and always asked if we had any further questions that we wanted to know about. Carlos was an extremely caring tour guide. He adjusted the tour to our needs. He had a great sense of humor. He did not only stick to the topic of the tour but we learned a lot about Colombia itself. He provided water for us. He made sure that we were safe getting in and out of the car. The car was clean. I usually don’t write reviews for Viator but I couldn’t help but want to sure our experience with other people. I also thought the price of the tour was a great value for a private tour that picked us up at our hotel
The company city vibes was extremely helpful right from the beginning. When there was a question about my booking I was contacted immediately. I was notified in advance who our guide would be along with a picture of the license plate. I have travelled with Viator many times and have never had such a great experience. Many things were included in the tour that we were not aware of, especially the great ice cream in Communa 13.
