We had a fantastic fun time learning about local Mauritius food and cooking. Nafizah was very knowledgable and helpful and guided us throughout the whole process. We all participated in the cooking and we enjoyed the delicious food we cooked while sitting in her garden terrace. Excellent value too. Highly recommend to book this experience if you are in Mauritius.

Good Muslim home cooking

If you like cooking curry at home then this will interest you. Our lady Muslim host was most congenial and she showed us how to build layers of flavour in her dishes. This is not the same as restaurant cooking. We thoroughly enjoyed it. 11/10.

Great Cooking Experience in Mauritius

Had a great time at the cooking class run by Nafizah. We are a family of 2 adults and 11,15 years old children. Cooking involved local dishes from fresh ingredients (vegetables, spices, chicken, sea food etc) with starters, main dishes and deserts. Overall, great time and excellent family experience. Nafizah is warm and nice with good English, French. Highly recommend. Note I would advise to confirm with Nafizah directly the exact location as the Google Maps link of Viator is about 5 min drive away from the actual destination.

Nafizah is a very friendly cook. We were lucky to be just the two of us. This allowed for a lively exchange. In addition to cooking, we also learned a lot about the country and its people. We prepared Dholl Puri, a prawn curry, and a semolina pudding. Everything was delicious. We definitely enjoyed it and can recommend the cooking class to everyone.
