Wonderful experience

Experience was great. Staff were lovely and very accommodating. Only issue was transport. We did not have a camel ride or quad ride but they still picked us up and we got to the venue three hours early. They did have WiFi but felt like a very long wait. Just something to be aware of if you do not book the rides. Otherwise a great experience

TERRIBLE - CHAOTIC TRANSPORTATION

I cannot explain how disorganised this experience is. Once we were at the camp the experience was fine, but getting there and back was honestly a terrible experience. We booked (and had a follow up confirmation) that they would pick us up from our hotel. After 15 mins of waiting in the lobby we were told that we needed to walk 10 minutes to find the bus to take us. Not a huge problem but not what we paid for or agreed. Upon standing around calling to try and find the bus, we finally found it. When we got on it was chaos. It materialised there were 2 people on the bus that shouldn’t have been on there (we had to ask a passenger what was going on as no one else spoke English). We sat for 45 minutes further whilst the 2 passengers argued with someone on the phone. Eventually they got out and we started moving. We then had to wait outside another hotel for 25 mins for another couple to get in the bus. We finally get there (it is NOT a quick journey, it’s over an hour minimum each way without traffic, do not believe the listing!!). As mentioned, the event itself at the camp was fine, no complaints. On the way back, we had to wait a further 20 mins in the bus before leaving as they didn’t have enough cars to go across the Dunes so they had to go back and forward multiple times to pick up guests. By this point as you can imagine we were not very happy. It’s a shame for the camp that I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone given the transportation issues.

Lovely desert experience!

This was a lovely experience - we were picked up from a square near or Riad promptly at the agreed time and driven to a spot where people could take a camel ride or a quad bike ride to the dinner site. Our booking did not include either (I believe you can chose to book it all together) so they offered to take us to the location in which we would be having the dinner earlier than the rest of the group, which we were thankful for. One thing to note here is that the Agafay Desert is not a sand dune desert, so don't expect a super sandy environment. It is more like a stony, hilly desert, which is also beautiful in its own way! Whilst we waited for the rest of the group, we were given water and some snacks, and a local singer played some nice Berber music for us. Once the rest of the group arrived the the main dinner area was made available, where there was a bar you could purchase alcoholic drinks from (not included) and nice tables and chairs (uncovered) or lower tables and pouffe stools (covered) you could chose from. After a little while it was time to go see the sunset on a nearby hill, which was really lovely. As soon as the sun was set it got really windy up the hill so for those that get cold easily a jacket would be advised. As soon as we were back to the dinner area though they had lovely fires put up, which kept us nice and warm. We were then served dinner, which was delicious! During dinner a group of performers came by, played some music and showed us some traditional dance. After dinner was finished, the invited us all to come closer to the fire and dance (eventually they started playing western music) - we were also offered to enjoy some shisha. A lot of the people with us there were actually spending the night in the desert, but we were booked for dinner only. When we asked about returning to Marrakech we were reassured by the owner that we could relax and we would be taken back at whatever time we wanted to return. True to his word, when we asked to be taken back they promptly got us into a car and dropped us off around the corner from our riad. Overall this was a really enjoyable experience, the staff was always very helpful and friendly, and we met some lovely people! We definitely recommend this to anyone looking at doing something different whilst staying in Marrakech!

Amazing trip we didnt do the camel ride we had the option but choose not to it was my birthday and they sang happy birthday food was lovely. . the alchol is wuite expensive so if your going and wabt a few drinks bring cash

What a great night. There were maybe 10 other couples but still very private. The music/entertainment was so much fun. My husband mentioned it was my birthday, and after dinner when they brought all the couples out to sit around the fire, all the staff gathered around me and sang happy birthday! Plus a free bottle of wine. It was just a great night and one I will remember forever.

After a bumpy journey to get to the site .. the location, hospitality and food was amazing . We met some lovely people and all ended up sitting around the camp fire having a sing song into the early hours accompanied by the staff singing and playing some plastic buckets as drums . Amazing evening .. one that will never be forgotten … would definitely recommend . We will be doing this again on our next trip to Morocco. ❤️❤️❤️

A wonderful evening highly recommend!! So glad we took the opportunity of the camel ride into the camp as it really helped set up the evening. Magical experience in the desert made all the better by the attentive staff and crew running the evening. Had mentioned at last minute it was my partner's birthday, yet they still managed to lay on a beautiful cake complete with candles and balloon's with the correct age on. Went the extra Miles for us and made a memorable birthday !! Thanks again 👍

We booked this due to it being a private tour with a private dinner believing we were going to receive high quality service for what we paid. We were poorly mistaken, the private tour included shared transfer, shared dinner experience and a shared setting. I received a call from the organiser a few hours prior to being due to be picked up, who advised that the private tour only included a private dinner experience, which we weren't happy with but thought at least our dinner experience is private. We arrived at the desert which looked like a building site (to be expected as it's Morocco). Then we were told that a lot of our guests climb a rockery (small mountain) to watch the sunset (I imagine they advised us to do this due to not really being organised). Although the sunset was lovely (more was due to nature rather than the tour), the owner of the land asked me if we wanted a free bottle of wine or free shisha, now when someone offers something for free it normally means for something in return in Morocco, we declined politely but then he said we will give you this for free but please give me a good review! I certainly wasn't happy at this stage but after all how much can I really moan when my wife & I are in the middle of the desert and our transportation back to our Riad was his friend. Would they have left us there if I had really kicked off? I didn't want to take that chance so just decided to put it down to experience. The whole experience lacked organisation, atmosphere and privacy, even though this was what we paid for. I would ask for a refund but Viator only allows you to chose certain options ie booked another tour or cancelled before the event, no option for a very poor experience! In my recommendation I would advise travellers to use their hotel/Riad to organise such tours as this was you have at least some control of the booking organiser and probably a much better experience.

This was a perfect evening. Our hosts were very accommodating from start to finish. Really good food too. They walked us to the top of a huge 'rock' to see the sunset (wear good shoes and take a jumper although they did have nice big, heavy blankets).

Great experience and worth every penny. Would definitely recommend although for the price would have thought wine would have been offered although totally understand why it was not. Staff were excellent - far to much food which put me off a bit and a great cat who tried to ruin a romantic evening.

Nach dem Transfer in die Wüste mit einem Kleinbus konnte man je nach Buchung noch einen Kamelritt und/oder eine Quad-Fahrt vor dem Abendessen durchführen. Zum Abend ging es zu Fuß auf einen kleinen Hügel, von dem man einen wunderbaren Blick in die Ferne auf die untergehende Sonne hatte. Anschließend nahmen wir Platz auf landestypischen (niedrigen) Sitzkissen an flachen Ess-Tischchen. Das Essen war sehr schmackhaft und reichhaltig, zwischen den einzelnen Gängen spielten diverse Musiker marokkanische Melodien und sangen dazu. Zum Abschluss des Abends gab es noch eine Feuershow am Grillplatz, die recht spektakulär war. Gegen 22:00 Uhr war der Abend beendet und es erfolgte der Rücktransport nach Marrakesch. Das Team in der Wüste war super freundlich und sehr gut organisiert, unser bester Dank dafür! Einziger Kritikpunkt an der Buchung war die Tatsache, dass die Tour bei Viator als 4-stündige Veranstaltung mit Beginn um 16:00 Uhr incl. Abholung an der Unterkunft beworben wurde. Tatsächlich mussten wir uns bereits um 14:50 Uhr an einem zentralen Ort in Marrakesch einfinden und wurden dort gegen 23:00 Uhr wieder abgesetzt. Somit stimmten die Zeiten und der Abholort nicht, was unsere Planung deutlich erschwert hat. Das sollte man dringend ändern.

Wij kwamen rond 16:00 uur aan op de locatie waar wij vriendelijk werden ontvangen met heerlijke thee en wat kleins om te eten. Toen werd ons verteld dat het programma pas om 19:30 zou beginnen dus wij moesten 3,5 uur zien te overbruggen wat van te voren helemaal niet verteld was.. uiteindelijk netjes opgelost met een gratis fles rose en wij mochten gebruiken maken van een tent om te rusten tot het zou beginnen, let hier dus op als je alleen het diner heb geboekt! Het diner en zonsondergang waren fantastisch en wij hebben een super mooie avond gehad.

Ongelooflijk mooi plekje in de woestijn, meest mooie zonsondergang ooit, fantastische diner ervaring, geweldig leuk avontuur, ontzettend lief en gezellig team, heerlijk gegeten en genoten van het kampvuur en muziek onder de sterrenhemel. Dit team maakt echt een feestje van het leven. Ons gezin heeft een onvergetelijke jubileum verjaardag van mijn echtgenoot/vader gehad. Wij komen zeker terug en blijven dan ook overnachten in de geweldige bijbehorende 'glamping' tenten welke eveneens uniek zijn in de Agafay woestijn. Heel erg bedankt voor deze onvergetelijke ervaring door het hele team!!!

Het viel heel erg tegen, het was zeker niet privé. Daarnaast was de eigenaar zeer vreemd (vervelend) aanwezig, commentaar aan het geven tegen zijn personeel (zeker niet vriendelijk), de gasten (inclusief ons) aan het vertellen wat we moesten doen, daarnaast smaakte het eten echt niet (ik heb het laten liggen). Ik heb nagedacht of ik deze recensie moest schrijven, maar vanwege de slechte ervaring voelde ik me verplicht richting de mensen die erover nadenken om dit te boeken. Ik zou het nooit meer boeken.

Tellement décevant Viator Dîner Privée ??? On été 25 personnes donc 150€ c est du vol quand sans le mot privé que le même site c est 60€ sans parlé de la prise en charge chaotique. En dehors de ça, le cadre, les deux associés et le repas etaient super Donc oui il faut y aller mais Viator arrêtez la tromperie et marquez dîner dans le desert.

Le prix ne valais pas l’expérience . Normalement c’était un repas privé et sa ne l’était pas! Le chauffeur s’est permis de faire des courses sur la route . Et 150 euros pour cette nexperience cest très cher! Très déçu de viator!
