Our visit to Cantina Biagiotti was one of the highlights of our trip near Lucca. Francesco, who runs the experience, was absolutely fantastic—laid back, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the winemaking process and his family’s deep roots in the region. The tour felt warm and genuine, not rushed or commercial, giving us a real sense of the passion and tradition behind their wines.
Despite arriving about 30 minutes late, we were welcomed with such kindness and grace. The hospitality was exceptional—the food pairings were delicious, the wines were beautifully crafted, and the setting among the vineyards was peaceful and authentic.
Francesco made the entire experience feel like spending an afternoon with friends rather than a formal tasting. We left with full hearts (and a few bottles to take home!). Highly recommend this experience for anyone wanting a true taste of Tuscan family winemaking.

I can highly recommend to book this wine tasting. We were a group of friends who visited Lucca and it was an experience we will always remember. Francesco guided us through the process of wine making and told us about their family traditions (they have a local bio wine business). First we visited a part of the vineyard and later we tasted different wines + food snacks in their little and charming wine cellar (like salami, honey, bread and olive oil, an omelette to share). Francesco showed us one white, an orange (new experience for us!) and three different red wines to taste. We liked the wine so much we also bought some bottles to take home!
All in all it took 3 hours and was a great experience! :)
This is a family business. We arrived and met Francesco and his Dad, who was pressing grapes from the harvest. Unlike large and corporate businesses, most tasks are competed manually and Fransceso explained how they maximise the limited space to get the most out of grapes. The tasting was very relaxed, each wine paired with food to bring out the appropriate flavours. The tasting room houses each of the different wines made and sold and is very much used as part of the process.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the knowledge that Francesco shared with us, it was almost like visiting family. Loved it!
This was my first winery tour + wine tasting. Now I want to be like Francesco and own a winery. Such a lovely experience on Saturday. Recommended!!!
Francisco was amazing and so knowledgeable about the art of making wine - he has a farmers heart as is proud of his family’s vineyard. He provided a warm welcoming atmosphere!
Lovely small vineyard. Great for a small group. Excellent light lunch and Francesco can accommodate Gluten Free guests
We have visited several wineries in different countries but this is by far our favourite experience! Francesco gave us a great explanation of the process and history. He made us feel so welcome and relaxed, and was such good fun! What made this tour so special was that the winery is tiny - a true artisanal product being explained by the maker. The story of the wine is all about family and it really touched my family. The food and wine tasting were excellent. One of our favourite experiences in Italy!
Francesco was a great host. He gave us a great overview of the history of the vineyard and the wine making process. He walked us through and had us sample a variety of wines they make and served us cheese, meats, olives, bread and a fabulous potato frittata. Would highly recommend this tour!
Love love love this experience. It was our first ever wine tasting experience and was amazing from start to finish Francesco picked us up from the train station for a small fee of 30 euro and as soon as we meet him we all felt at ease fran was so interesting and very informative and passionate about his family vinery . We visited the vine yard and then went to the cellar to see where the wine process took place lots more information and fran answered all our questions . Then the wines themselves were amazing we all enjoyed the orange wine aswell as the food and red wines.. fran remembered it was my special birthday and bought a cake for us all to share . Lucca is a great place to visit and a must for anyone visiting tuscany .. thank you for making this visit a memorable birthday .
Francesco was truly amazing. His passion for his family’s business was felt throughout every aspect of the experience. It was a wonderful hands on tour. We learned so much about wine and the whole process. Highly recommend visiting this vineyard while in Lucca!! Hands down one of the best tours yet in Italy.
Francesco was a wonderful representative of his family run vineyard. Knowledgeable, friendly, warm hospitality. The small group (5) was perfect for the tasting which included delicious cheese, meats, olive oil, olives and bread. Fabulous wines in an intimate setting. We highly recommend this tasting.
Wonderful, personal experience. From A to B, was catered to my interests. Very kind people running a genuine winery.
We loved that it was a small intimate family winery. Francisco was very informative but best of all very fun! The wines are very good and it is definitely worth the $30 euros for him to transport us to the winery and back from Lucca. We loved the whole experience.

Francesco was a great host, friendly, knowledgeable & passionate about the family winemaking. I enjoyed the wine tasting with light lunch, lovely rustic, small setting, very enjoyable. Francesco invited questions and his English was perfect.
Francesco was a great guide. Enjoyed going out to the vineyard and learning about the different types of grapes and how they make their wine. One of the best tours from our stay in Italy
Francesco was very sweet and explained everything in a very down to earth manor. The tour and tasting was delicious with excellent wines and food pairings. I would definitely recommend going there for wine lovers or for a great experience!
Francesco and his family make delicious wines and the wine tasting there was fun and educational. You won’t leave hungry!
Private tour, good information & conversation, great food and wines. We could ask all the questions we had.
This was a fantastic little family ran winery. We started by walking out to some vineyards then inside to look at the tanks and operations. This was a very small space but it was very interesting to hear about how they began. For the wine and food tasting we went into the next room where he prepared the foor and poured the wine. The wine was good and pairing it with some food was perfect. You could tell he really enjoyed what he did.
I would highly recommend this winery, they make it very personal and enjoyable. A great family ran winery.
Francesco was a friendly, entertaining and knowledgeable host who appears passionate about the wines he and his family create. The experience was relaxed and intimate with a small group of four and we thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting and light lunch provided in a lovely rustic setting
Small group made the experience informal and informative. Francesco treated us all as family. The wine tasting was low key but nonstop, we learnt alot!! He linked his wines to local produce throughout lunch . Showing how wine taste can be improved through correct food pairing. Francesco was briliiant in introducing us to the importance of ageing (wine not people) and how wine is important in a meal but above all It is personal taste.
Wine was excellent, food pairings were delicious using local produce and misappropriated olive oil from his Mum!!
We would recommend the experience to anyone
Francesco was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and clearly enjoys what he does. He created such a lovely environment for all involved in the tour. We sampled a range of wines for the winery and all were great especially when paired with the food.
A great experience and we really enjoyed our time
Relaxed, but interesting and informative winetour. Francesco was entertaining, wine was really good - and it was a real and down to earth-experience.
Very informative and great family run winery. Easy to get to from Lucca. Francesco Biagiotti, owner, does an excellent job.
This is a small family owned winery, Francesco was terrific, very knowledgeable about the making of wine, we toured the vineyard, the cellar with the barrels, we had a light lunch and wine tasting, it was so familiar to me like was in my grandparents cellar in NY. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn and share some wine.

This wine tour was incredible. Francesco is very knowledgeable and friendly, and the wines are delicious (I had some shipped, they were so good). The lunch was lovely, and the winery is beautiful.
What a wonderful little vineyard. This family-owned gem is definitely worth a visit. Francesco made the experience 10/10. We also bought home a lot of good wines from this vineyard.
What a wonderful afternoon it made my birthday special. Francesco was a splendid host. The wine tasting was very generous and the food. He was patient and answered many questions. I highly recommend this both my husband and I learned so much about the wine and it was a good excursion for our weekend in Lucca and it will make it memorable.
Francesco was a great guide! The property is beautiful and in a convenient location to Lucca, and the wines we tasted were delicious. He also served delicious food that paired well with each wine. I had a wonderful time and would happily return. Highly recommend this experience.
Francesco provided a relaxed, cozy ans informal wine tasting and information session. He encouraged and answered all questions. Francesco is passionate about his winery and ensuring you have the best visit possible. I highly encourage a trip out to his vineyard. Oh, and the wine and food were absolutely delicious as well!!
