James was a superb guide. His English was impeccable and he so much more than we could imagine. He loves history. No notes needed and he knew how to adjust our visit so we had reduced crowds for the Crown Jewels. James was patient with all our questions and picture taking. We had an amazing and memorable tour.

This tour was an excellent overall experience. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our Tuesday afternoon tour and James was already there to meet us. He started with a few questions to get an idea of our knowledge and interests, and thoughtfully tailored the conversation and pace of the visit to us. Beyond being thoroughly prepared and pausing to provide deeper discussion when we had questions, he introduced us to a number of members of the guard and staff as we walked, who all seemed to know him personally. Two commented to us that we were fortunate, as James was one of their favored guides. From his depth of knowledge and detailed discussion it appeared that he has studied the history of every article in each room. James was personable, articulate and a pleasure to listen to. The time passed quickly and our afternoon was completely enjoyable. We both will recommend him to friends and family.

Even though it was raining buckets, our tour of The Tower was the highlight of our trip to London. James was an excellent guide. We could have spent the entire day learning more about the history of The Tower and its current workings, as well. My husband and I ended up being the only people in the group that day so we had a private tour for a very reasonable price. I can't recommend this tour with James enough.

Our guide was very professional , friendly and knowledgeable. His passion for this period of history was evident in how he conducted the tour. Mr Hands tour far exceeded our expectation! We had our pictures taken with the beef eaters. The crown jewel presentation and viewing was pleasantly overwhelming .

Our guide, James, is the quintessential English gentleman with the knowledge and experience to give a fascinating tour of this most interesting place. And in fact he seemed to be on a first name basis with many of the Tower staff and beefeaters we encountered on our walk through the Tower grounds, giving us a further sense of his familiarity with the place. James told many fascinating stories, taking us through the history of the Tower and recounting the lives of many famous and infamous people who passed through or were locked up within its walls. A “must see” in London, any Tower tour is even better if you’re lucky to land James as your guide!

It turned out to be just our family of three for this tour, so it was an extremely personal experience with James as our tour guide. He was super knowledgeable and on a first name basis with many of the Beefeaters that were present on our tour. He spent around three hours with us and it was time well spent. We learned much more about the history of the Tower of London than just wandering aimlessly around not really knowing the significance of the various buildings.

Walking back through history here is something that I’ve always wanted to do. The Crown Jewels surpassed my expectations. We saw the crown that King Charles wore just the day before at Parliament!

This tour was the highlight of my trip to London. Aside from the many sights (the Crown Jewels, the White Tower, Traitor’s Gate, Yeoman Warders, the Ravens(!!!) it was my tour guide, James Hart, who elevated this. The Tower of London is very interesting, a must see in my opinion, with the crown jewels being the highlight of the tour. It's a lot of walking so be prepared. Our tour ended up being for just my husband and I as nobody else showed up. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable and we spent a very pleasant afternoon with her. With that being said, we felt that we overpaid for the tour. It was our first visit to London so I didn't know what to expect. I wish I had shopped a bit more and found a better value.
