Sunscreen, water and a hat are highly recommended. The sun in Lima is very strong, even if it seems cloudy.
From May to November it is recommended to bring a sweater and a light coat since the weather may be colder in some areas you'll visit

Great tour for those wanting to see the less touristy side of Lima

A fascinating tour of the less touristy parts of Lima. Authentic market food, exploring real neighborhoods, not just the touristy parts of Lima. It really provides a great view of the diversity of Lima’s population.

The best tour of our trip and lucky enough to be just my wife and myself on it! Adolfo our guide was brilliant and we stopped in at a local market first to try everything under the sun! The highlight was a stop to have a great ceviche freshly prepared in front of us. Our guide was knowledgeable, had some great stories, was helpful and inquisitive and displayed genuine passion for Lima and the people. Our next stop was in the favela and we stopped into three different houses to discuss the peoples stories, struggles and share some laughs. Their passion, community and belief is inspiring and it was a genuine privilege to talk to these amazing people. This tour is not as confronting and dangerous as one might think. In fact, its probably safer in the favela then in downtown Lima! If you have time to take this trip, do it. We finished with great memories of Lima and the food and cultural experience was incredible.
