After pickup at one of the arranged meeting points in Lake Garda, travel via comfortable coach with your guide to Venice, arriving at roughly 11am.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Venice is known as the Serenissima, the Queen of the Adriatic. Hop aboard a private boat with your guide and pass the city's top attractions, including St. Mark's Square and Cathedral, the Bridge of Sighs, the Campanile (bell tower), and the Rialto Bridge.

Explore the city on your own in the afternoon with some free time to spend at your leisure. Opt to take a gondola ride, the true symbol of Venice (additional expense), as a single gondolier rows you through the canals.

Afterward, a boat will pick you up at 5:30pm from St. Mark's Square to take you to the bus back to Lake Garda.

Busy day in Venice

A long journey but worthwhile to visit Venice which was very busy. Had plenty of time to wander around. We didn't do the langoon trip or gondolas arranged by the guide as we decided that we wanted to do a gondola with just the two of us and pay the extra 20 euros. Guide was knowledgeable and explained meeting points and things to see. Highly recommend if you just want to visit Venice for the day.

Checks the box that you’ve been to Venice. The guide was informative and presented in 3 languages during the bus ride to Venice. The walking tour lead us from the boat landing past 4 major landmarks, but then we needed to retrace our steps to go to the lunch and gondola ride we purchased during the bus ride. The lunch was good for the price and the gondola ride was a highlight.

Don't hesitate to book this trip, it's a full day but so well organised and informative. Our guide made sure we were well looked after and not worried about getting lost in a strange place. Local pick up was on time, comfy coach and a safe and steady driver. We bought both the optional gondola and boat trip and enjoyed both, got to say, stepping into the gondola is a very rocky business but I am 71. Comfort stop in both directions. We were picked up in Bardolino at the bus stop near tourist information at 8.45am and back for about 8pm..great day out.

I booked this trip a while ago and was really looking forward to it. It did not disappoint. It's quite a long day travelling from Garda to Venice, approx 3hrs, but it's worth it. Our guide, Francesco, was excellent, very knowledgeable, very clear about meeting points and times etc, and he was also quite funny. We went on a Monday in mid September, and it was very walkable, not overly crowded at all. The bridges do get very crowded though, lots of people stopping to take photos, but the main square, Saint Mark's was surprisingly quite quiet. Francesco showed us all the main buildings and was very good at explaining the history of them. After some free time we took an hour's long boat tour with our group. This was very nice and a good way to get out of the intense sun and heat. Venice is a beautiful city with loads of beautiful architecture, lovely canals (which were not smelly at all) and more gondalas than you'll ever need to see.

great trip well organised administration Tour guide was less organised, precise and punctual turning up at meeting point 10 mins late we think, because she was 25m away from where she said. It might not sound much in either context, but 25m in Venice mayhem is a lot and we panicked because we thought we'd missed her. Not a good way to end the trip.

Pick up was on time and bus was as described, comfortable and air conditioned. Met our guide Francesco. He was brilliant the whole day. Really looked after us. Had one comfort stop along trip and arrived and boarded boat to Venice. All went well. Venice tour with guide Giovanna was brilliant, informative and interesting. Her pace was perfect for us and the headphones worked perfectly. Venice was hot and really busy but what a beautiful and historical city. Saw all the major sights. We had time on our own to look around. We did do both the gondola and island boat trips with viator and Francesco, which were brilliant and definitely a must do. The price was very good versus doing it yourself. Got the boat back and then bus back to our town where we were staying, Garda town. Highly recommended and thankyou for looking after us.

Very good experience. Guide gave useful information, very welcoming, friendly The only potential problem, I had to change pick up point, I did this through messaging online.The message did not get through to our guide, so they went to previous arranged spot. If our guide hadn't persisted in phoning me, we would of missed trip. So only fault you need better communication from online to your guides.

Not worth the money

On the journey to Venice you get a upsell of a gondola ride and a lagoon boat trip , we did both and have to say neither were worth the money. We paid 70 euros for the gondola which sounds good but you share it with 3 other random people when you could pay an extra 20 and have it to yourselves if you dont do it with the guide on the bus. The lagoon ride was a total waste of time and that cost 50 euros for both of use . You don’t really see anything and it was done predominantly in German when you get told that the tour will be in English. You do get a walking tour but it’s down back streets and don’t really see anything of the main landmarks. We ended up with about and hour and half of free time to wander around and be careful of your bag and wallet

Beware of unexpected expensive add-ons

We booked this trip from Lake Garda to Venice largely for the hassle-free transport to Venice and in that respect it was satisfactory. Although we booked the English language tour we ended up on the English and German languages tour, but that was also tolerable. The tour was advertised as having an optional extra of a gondola ride... something we didn't intend doing. On the day the tour guide also tried to upsell a private boat trip in Venice; apparently something different to the private boat trip referenced as included in the trip details and available as a cash-only extra option, but presented by the tour guide as "the most important part of the day". We didn't take the extra boat trip so cannot comment on how good it was or otherwise. Hopefully Viator will engage with the operator so that the trip description is more accurate than at present.

Day trip to Venice from Lake Garda for 22 August 2024. Pick up on time. Distance between the parking lot, where the coach drops the tour and the boat to central Venice is about 4-500 meters. Keep this in mind if any difficulty in walking. Walking tour with the local guide was good as well. Our tour guide, Gabriella and the coach driver Massimo were excellent. We took the Lagoon boat trip which lasted 1 hour was nice but the the commentary was difficult to follow as it was difficult to hear from where we were sitting. We had a comfort break on both the journey. Bit tiring as the whole tour lasted almost 13 hours, but one have to visit Venice at least once if you are in this region of Italy. Would recommend this trip but keep in mind if your mobility is not very good. Venice is not very friendly for people with poor mobility.

Excellent day trip to Venice

We have recently enjoyed a day trip to Venice and would fully recommend. The coach arrived on time, it was very clean and air conditioned. Our guide was excellent, very knowledgeable. Everything went very smoothly. We arrived at 11.30am and had a boat waiting to take us over to Venice. After departing the boat, we had a 45 minute walk with our guide passing by all the major sights and then we had until 4.45pm free time. We booked a gondola ride with our guide on the coach on route to Venice. The cost was €35 each (cash only!!) which we felt was well worth it as again, this was all arranged for us, all we had to do was make sure we arrived at the correct location at the correct time. If you are looking for a hassle free day trip to Venice that gives you a flavour, I would fully recommend.

We had a very enjoyable tour in Venice after being picked up in Peschiera del Garda. Orlando was a fabulous tour guide and very knowledgeable. The weather was extremely warm but we still enjoyed the day. We also had our 2.5 year old with us and I was nervous about doing the journey and tour with her however it was such a fantastic day I'm delighted we booked it!

We had a great time on this tour. Lots to choose from on the tour including a skip the line gondola ride. Our tour guide Remo was very knowledgeable and even gave us tips on where to eat and get coffee so as not to get ripped off. We had plenty of free time to enjoy Venice even after the tour and gondola.
