Receive a morning pickup from your hotel in the La Fortuna area, after which you transfer to your first activity of the day, featuring an exciting zipline adventure through the rain forest canopy.
Strap into your harness and don a helmet as your instructors explain the basics of controlling your speed on the park’s ziplines. Then prepare for fun (and perhaps some adrenaline too) as you fly at speeds of up to 40 miles per hour (70 kilometers per hour) amidst the rain forest treetops like a jungle bird, taking advantage of seven of the zipline course’s best rides. One ride requires a climb up a 54-foot (18-meter) high tower followed by 360-foot (120-meter) ride over a scenic canyon. Another zipline features more than 3,200 feet (980 meters) of cable above La Fortuna Waterfall, making it the longest in the entire park.
After your zipline adventure, hop aboard the trip’s 4x4 jeep and enjoy an included fruit snack as you head to the Balsa River. When you arrive at the white-water rafting spot, put on your gear and get an introduction to safe paddling and rafting commands from your guides. Then climb into your raft and prepare to get wet along the Class II and III rapids of this fast-moving waterway. You might even scout sloths, toucans, and monkeys in the surrounding jungle, and have time to spare for a refreshing swim.
When the rafting trip is done, head to the day’s included lunch spot, where you dig into a typical Costa Rican-style meal served at a traditional country estate. Following lunch, receive a ride back to your hotel in La Fortuna, to be dropped off in the late afternoon.

This tour was an amazing experience. As someone who is afraid of both heights and water due to not being a strong swimmer, I was nervous going in, but I would absolutely recommend it. The scenery throughout the tour was stunning.
The ziplining portion did feel a bit rushed, and the photo and video package for ziplining wasn’t worth the cost. However the rafting portion was incredible and truly the highlight of the day. Our guide Moi/Moises was absolutely amazing, full of energy, incredibly enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. He even pointed out wildlife along the way and let us take turns riding in the front like a bull, which was such a fun touch. He is truly a gem and I highly recommend requesting him if possible. The rafting photos were high quality, beautiful, and definitely worth purchasing.

We had a communication blip on starting location as the location didn’t match the text communications. We thought we had hotel pickup and Wave thought we were meeting there. It ultimately was just an unfortunate miscommunication and we missed the morning departure for Zip-lining. Wave worked hard to rearrange our day to ensure we could still experience both. They were very accommodating and this entire experience ended up being the highlight of our trip! We had a blast experiencing the rapids with our guide Kervin. He was fun and very personable. We would highly recommend their company and use them again. Because we had to shift our time, we had to make it back for zip-lining by 3p. Wave coordinated an alternative lunch and got us delicious boxed lunches. We made it to Go Adventure and enjoyed a fun experience zip-lining! The guides were phenomenal and our 8 year old was very attached to his guide that travelled the lines with him! He was nervous at first but his guide made him feel so comfortable and he LOVED the experience. We were so grateful to both companies and the guides. This will definitely be an experience we’ll reflect fondly on and cherish memories from forever. Thank you!!

I will split the activities in my review. Ill start with the ziplining which I would honestly give a 3/5 stars. Although it was an extremely thrilling experience with a good staff and amazing views while you zipline, I give it a 3/5 because of the way they have you set up for the zipline. For whatever reason, you are given whats basically like a leather mitt for one of your hands. You use it behind your head to hold the line down if you need to break. You are supposed to hold it lightly if you do not want to break and get stuck on the line. On the 2nd zipline, I held on with my leather mitt too lightly I suppose because I did not want to break and slow down. Due to that, I lost grip and when I tried putting my hand back on the zipline, I got an abasion/burn that has still not faded almost 2 weeks later. Also, due to me struggling to put my hand back on, it slowed me down which caused me to not make it all the way to the platform on the longest zipline of the day. I had to turn my body around and pull myself in which wasn't a huge deal but it was not extremely easy to do. When I reached the platform, the guide assumed I slowed down on purpose and told me not to slow down which I did not appreciate. Although this act is not anyones fault on the staff, I would look into a different ziplining tour that allows you to normally put both hands in front of you. I saw pictures of other companies that have that easier set up. Now for the river rafting tour, I would give that one a 5/5 stars. It is an hour drive to the river after ziplining which I did not love but also not a huge deal. The rafting is a great level of fun for all ages since its class 2 and 3s. I am experienced with class 4s so this was a very easy and fun river to go down but you also get plenty wet during the event which is nice. My guide, Christopher, is a great guide and very knowledgeable of the event and also just provides a good time for everyone. I would note that lunch is not until after ziplining and river rafting so be aware of that. They give you fresh fruit on the river which is so amazing. I would definitely recommend this tour. My total review is getting 4/5 stars because the river rafting tour is a 5/5 and its also nice to have easy transportation between both activities since you are booking a package tour.

Regarding the zipline portion of the tour, we understand your concern and we’re sorry to hear about the abrasion you experienced. The leather glove braking system you mentioned is actually the most common braking method used in many ziplines throughout Costa Rica. It is considered a lightweight, reliable, and safe system, which is why it is widely implemented across the country. In addition, each platform guide is always prepared to assist with braking as a backup if needed.
During the safety briefing, guides normally explain that if the glove shifts or becomes loose, guests should avoid trying to reposition it while on the cable, as friction can cause burns. Instead, the guide at the platform will assist with braking. That said, your feedback is extremely valuable to us. We will be reviewing this situation directly with our canopy partner to reinforce the safety briefing and make sure guests clearly understand what to do if the glove becomes loose while ziplining.

The tour guides for both the rafting and the ziplines were great!! There was just some communication gaps in between the two companies so that we waited around for 45 minutes in the parking lot between activities with no updates. And no information about whether to take stuff with us or leave it in the lockers at the office. I would still recommend the tour just be prepared for a little chaos.

Both activities are scheduled based on the group size and pace of the tour that day, so timing can vary slightly. After the zipline, guests normally return to our main office area, where there’s AC, restrooms, coffee, and snacks available while waiting to begin rafting. The transition time is usually around 10–15 minutes.
We’re sorry that in your case, communication wasn’t as clear as it should have been. We’re working on tightening that coordination so the experience feels smooth from start to finish.

This was a great family experience. It was a good balance of fast rapids (class III) and slower ones (class II). Cris was amazing as our boat captain, encouraging us the whole way and even showing us some cool wildlife. You will not regret doing this.

The experience was really cool, especually the water rafting. From the start the people were very accommodating, pablo and josue from ziplining, Alonso, marta and diego from water rafting was really awesome people. Extremely organized, seamless transitions from event to event. The whole experience was amazing. We did zip line in the morning and rafting in the afternoon. The snacks and food was incredible. Most importantly the guides were top notch. Everyone we came into contact was extremely friendly.

This was one of the best excursions we completed there. We first ziplined, and that felt a bit rushed, but the rafting was so fun. We also got to see a sloth very close to the water and some other animals, including a cayman. some of my family members got to bull ride the raft, which was fun for them.

This was an exceptional experience. Guides were knowledgeable, paid great attention to safety, were friendly and funny. The tour length was long enough, you felt like you got a complete day of activities along with lunch. Ziplining was very high up and fast, but never felt unsafe. I was a bit nervous about rafting but we always felt under control. Once you pay attention and follow guide's instructions, you are less likely to have issues.

This tour will not disappoint. Every part of the tour was thrilling, safe, and engaging. The entire staff at the ziplines were nice, well informing and engaged with the group. The ziplines provided great views with high adrenaline. White water rafting might have been the best experience at La Fortuna. The guides were very engaged with the people making it fun, cracking jokes, always on the look out to spot animals and make stops so we could see the animals. They took out the fear factor of rafting and provided excellent service and an amazing trip down el Rio Burro

I did this with my 18 year old daughter. We had a lot of fun! The zip lines were intense and we enjoyed it. The river rafting II/III was definitely amazing and worth it. I am not an avid rafter and I am glad we did the II/III and not any higher intensity rafting excursion. Everyone on the boat is rowing and I was pretty sore for days after from using muscles I didn't know I had. No one on our raft fell out but there were other boats where people had fallen out. It is safe and well run. I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed with this tour.

Just do it! This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with white water rafting! After zip line they provided a snack. On the way to white water rafting they brief you. As soon as you get on the raft the adventure begins. Non stop adrenaline, and better with a group of people. After the tour they took us to have a Delicious meal, and one of the Best I had in Costa Rica.

Zip lining over La Fortuna Waterfall was breathtaking! Our raft guide, Antonio, has over 20 years of experience and it shows. It was such a blast and he made my daughter’s first rafting experience a positive one. This entire excursion was a highlight of our trip. I would definitely recommend.

One of the most thrilling days we’ve had in Costa Rica. The zip lining was probably the most intense but the views were incredible and we’re both glad we did it. Afterwards we went rafting with Wave rafting. Daniel was very friendly and kind throughout the short bus ride to the river. My husband and I rafted with Jonathan who just made the whole experience even more fun. Definitely book if you want to experience adventure and create unforgettable memories!

Our guide Ephraim was awesome. The bus ride to the river was very comfortable. We loved the fruit snack part way through and the lunch at the end. A fantastic day.
