Such an awesome experience! It’s a private tour, so just you and your group, no random people included. Beautiful trails, got a chance to see a sloth which was super cool, and our tour guide Johnny was so nice and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to horseback ride in the Costa Rican forest :)

Absolutely brilliant experience! Mariano matched each of us perfectly with our horses. The horses were impeccably behaved. We learnt so much about the local area, wildlife, fruits and plants along the way. We spotted toucans, a huge iguana and some beautiful birds. After our ride we ate rose apples, guavas and sugar cane from our trip. We then had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious. All the horses were so well looked after. It was an incredible day. Thank you so much Mariano for such a fantastic day.

Hands down our favorite experience in La Fortuna! Even as novice riders, we felt completely at ease. The horses were stunning, well-behaved, and clearly loved, and getting to trot and gallop through the countryside was a massive highlight. A huge shoutout to Johnny—he was patient, engaging, and made the whole trip unforgettable!

How can you not give this a 5 star? Riding a horse in the rainforest? Amazing. We did this in the middle of the afternoon though, and it was HOT. So I would suggest doing first thing in the morning. Our tour guide was very kind, knowledgeable - and our horses were just as sweet! My horse Cocoa was a bit slow and at his own pace, but who cares! Pura Vida, baby!

Not your average, basic , sad
" trailride ."
The horses among the best fed and cared for that we have ever witnessed in ALL of our travels .
The level of training ( and not sad green broke , head down type ) was absolutely impressive. The relationship between the animal caregivers and tour guide with the horses was undeniable and not fear based. The careful selection and pairing of horse to rider and the introduction was the first clue that we had chosen a true and thoughtful experience with as much attention paid to the comfort of the horses.
Andres is a true asset to this full operation and is an impeccable host, guide , instructor and most importantly, impeccable human.
Pedro was also so valuable , kind , and so welcomed as another tier of safety and wisdom.
The experience itself was as real as it could possibly get and a next level adventure in ALL ways !
Amazing, exhilarating, adrenaline spiking, peaceful , self challenging but THIS experience was OUR Pura Vida !

Was looking for a tour that could let us gallop and this is the one. We also saw different type of birds and holler monkeys. It was a nice ride with my daugther. Horses are taken care off.

The tour is an awesome experience. You start by riding through the small town where some of the workers even live. Then you head to a farm by crossing a stream. The guide then will lead you up and down mountain sides and through rugged terrain with beautiful backdrops. This was unlike any horse riding experience I have done before. The tour guides were filled with cultural knowledge and were happy to share it. We had the opportunity to see sloths, both two and three toed, as well as howler monkeys when we were in the jungle portion. Terrific tour.

It was a very successful experience; The welcome was wonderful, the place magnificent. The horses were very calm and above all, seemed very well treated. With one exception, we were beginners but we were immediately very comfortable. The walk lasted 3 hours. The landscapes visited were beautiful and in private meadows and farms.

We booked the more private tour and were lucky to have a wonderful guide—though I wish I could remember his name!
My boyfriend and I ride regularly, so we were hoping for a bit more speed, and our guide made sure we knew exactly when it was safe to pick up the pace. At one point, we were galloping side by side—a moment I’ll never forget!
The ride itself was incredible. We spent 3-4 hours weaving through rocky streams, open fields, and sugar cane lanes, even making some new trails along the way. Our horses were sure-footed, well-trained, and clearly well cared for, which made the experience even better.
If you have time, I highly recommend touring the property. Along with the trail horses, there’s another barn with mini horses and donkeys—definitely worth a visit!

An incredible experience, our guides we so fabulous. Super knowledgeable about the wildlife in the area and paid special attention to point out different birds and plant life in the areas. Horses are beautiful and very well taken care of. All around fabulous experience, especially our 2 guides. Cannot say enough good things about them!!

This tour was our favorite horseback riding experience EVER! We were greeted by friendly staff at a brand-new facility. The horses are very clearly taken care of here. The attention to detail by these folks is unprecedented. The equipment fit great and the horses, though full of personality, were very well behaved and loving. The private tour is highly recommended. It was the two of us plus our guide.
The ride itself was a blast. Our guide is very knowledgeable and lives in the same town. He took us out into the raw countryside along sugar cane fields. A gorgeous river ran alongside of it. We had an opportunity to gallop and canter along its banks. We spotted a few different sloths along our journey and were treated to amazing landscape panoramic views.
We took a few breaks to chat and allow the horses to drink water from fresh streams we crossed. Toward the end of the ride we spotted a giant Macaw and received a tour of the city nearby, providing a real view into Costa Rican life.
We simply cannot recommend this tour enough!!! If I could give it 10 stars I would. The value, views, treatment, and experience are all top notch.

This was a fantastic trip and we would go back to do multiple days of riding in a heartbeat! While they have a wide range of horses to accommodate all guests if you are an equestrian this is the trip to book! Horses are well cared for, talented and athletic. Our guide Andres was wonderful and we truly rode through the country side walk trip canter gallop. As it was private just us and our guide by the end it felt like a hack with close friends! If you ride book this and ask for Andres!

This was such a lovely experience!. My partner and I went on a 3.5 hour ride with our guide, Andreas. He was so kind and knowledgeable, and even shared his contact in case we had general questions about Costa Rica and the rest of our time here. The horses were very clearly well cared for. He told us that the horses work on a week-on, week-off basis, and only go out once a day during their work weeks, which I so respect, being a horsewoman and someone who has had a fair amount of experience with working horses in tourism settings. I HIGHLY recommend this place!

Danny was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable about the local wildlife and area as well as tailoring the tour to us and our riding abilities. If you have ridden before and want to try something different this is the place to go! Equally I am sure if you were more nervous you would be in safe hands. Despite having both ridden extensively in the past we were challenged in new ways in the saddle, up and down banks and crossing a river. The horses were fantastic and looked after us well despite inclement weather. We also go to spot and see a wide array of wildlife, including an array of birds and multiple sloths! 11/10 if I could
