Itinerary

Meet a guide at your hotel for a 7:30am departure, then travel to the La Fortuna area for a hike near the Arenal Volcano (pickup is at selected hotels only, see Booking Details for more information).

Follow a trail that crosses lava flows from Arenal’s 1968 eruption, when the long-dormant volcano sent rocks, lava, and ash across the countryside. Bring your camera, as you’ll have great views of Arenal Volcano National Park and the surrounding rainforest.

Pause for a buffet lunch at a nearby restaurant, then slip into pools that are naturally heated by volcanic activity. This is the perfect time to relax surrounded by waterfalls, rainforest, and tropical birds, all with Arenal Volcano for a scenic backdrop.

After a full day of hiking and hot spring, meet the driver for the return trip to Guanacaste, with a break in Tilarán town for dinner. This tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.
