Incredible Tour, But Not for the Faint-Hearted (or Unfit)

Andrew_W, Apr 2026
This tour was one of the most powerful and memorable experiences of our trip to Poland. Visiting the concentration camps was incredibly emotional and confronting, but also deeply important. The guides handled the history with great respect and knowledge, allowing time to reflect while ensuring we truly understood the significance of what we were seeing. It’s not an easy experience, but it’s one I believe everyone should have at least once. In contrast, the visit to the salt mines was fascinating and almost surreal. The sheer scale of the underground chambers, intricate carvings, and chapels carved entirely from salt were absolutely breathtaking. It was a perfect balance to the heaviness of the earlier part of the day. The tour was very well organised, transport was comfortable, and everything ran smoothly. A long day, but incredibly worthwhile. That said, be prepared—it involves a lot of walking at both sites. The descent into the salt mine is quite full-on, with a significant number of steps. If your fitness level isn’t great, I wouldn’t recommend doing both in the same tour, as it can be quite physically demanding. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a deeper understanding of Poland’s history and culture.

A very jam packed day and each of our tour guides were extremely knowledgeable! I would definitely recommend this trip!

Well organised trip

darren_m, Nov 2025
I would highly recommend this tour, the day is long to fit all in but well organised, communication before the trip was good, you are collected and taken to each place by friendly driver who looks after you all day, the tour guide at the camps is very good, explains events that happened very well and passionately, make sure you take the driver up on pack lunch when he contacts the day before as very cheap and real good quality, it’s a busy day so good to have food at hand

Would recommend!

We was prepped the day before, it was a busy day travelling but Bartek the guide was nice and helpful throughout, he also offered to buy packed lunch for us the day before (note you need to take lunch as no place to buy lunch on the trips and very short lunch period approx 15mins to eat) The tour auschwitz felt rushed, but this was not down to our tour organiser more the place itself as they had so many visitors, you was unable to view at own pace. The salt mine was unexpectedly amazing, It’s a lot of walking, wear comfortable shoes!

Respectfully guided tour of Auschwitz. The addition of the Salt Mine tour lifted the somber mood following the Auschwitz tour. Comfortable on-time transfers and engaging driver. Very well organised.

Fantastic experiences and wonderful driver Mario

Gemma_M, May 2024
We had an amazing day! Mario our driver was fantastic, it was so well organised and he made sure we were always at the right place at the right time. We had a such a laugh with the other group on the mini bus which made the day even better! Yes it is tiring doing both experiences in 1 day but it’s certainly doable! Definitely would recommend :)

Get a better guide for Auschwitz

Sarah_D, Apr 2024
Robert our driver was very efficient and friendly but unfortunately he used his phone whilst he was driving. The guide at the salt mine Annie was upbeat and interesting and the tour was good - I’d recommend. Unfortunately the guide for Auschwitz was dreadful - 1 star. I don’t think I have ever had such a poor guide. I appreciate that you can’t be upbeat on such a tour but there was no emotion or connection with the group. His delivery was flat and monotonous and he talked about pictures we couldn’t even see as the previous group was still looking at them. He, was obviously provided by Viator and not the centre as he travelled from Krakow in our car. It is all very regimented and rushed, I appreciate it is a long day 0700-1700 but maybe make it 30 mins longer so people don’t have to stress about trying to go to the toilet and risk missing the tour setting off. Don’t bother with the packed lunch it’s just cheap stuff from Lidl.

AUSCHWITZ/BIRKENAU AND SALT MINE

Alison_F, Mar 2024
Travel arrangements were great amd on time fab driver and guide. Both tours had lots of walking but very informative. We felt the Auschwitz tour was a little rushed and did not have time to take it all in. We were glad to tie both camps in with visit to Birkenau. The tour to salt mine was great lots of steps down but worth the views the large chamber at the bottom was amazing. The ride back up was very quick and interesting

Excellent tour, Igor was a great guide. Very sad going to Auschwitz but something I believe everyone should do once in their life. The salt mines were beautiful and certainly not to be missed but overall there is a lot of walking around for one day!

Thank you for your review :-)

A Moving Experience

Nathan_M, Jan 2020
This tour was great. We learnt so much and our guide was able to answer any questions we had. The only negative I would share is that because we were moving around in a very large group, we didn't really get a chance to just stop and take it all in.

Excellent Tour - Strongly Recommended!

The All-Day Auschwitz-Wieliczka Tour was an excellent choice for our family of 5. The driver, David, was an incredible host and personally made sure that everyone was on time and enjoying themselves. Would definitely go again :)

Muito emotivo

Os Campos de extermínio são o horror real da história que sabemos que aconteceu!!! As minas de sal são muito interessantes para quem é professora de geografia como eu sou!!! Valeu muito a pena a experiência!!!
