We could not believe the scam we fell for!! There was no tour guide who showed up at the designated spot, we were at the location 20 minutes before. We got a bunch of AI generated texts and pictures. When asked to provide us the tickets, the texts fell silent. Complete scam!!! BEWARE!!!
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Dear Guest,
We are very sorry to hear about your experience. Please be assured that our guide was present at the designated meeting point with the other clients. The guide waited until 11:40 AM, which is longer than usual, but unfortunately did not see anyone and had to start the tour.
We made every effort to help you locate the meeting point, including sending multiple photos and messages. We are truly sorry that despite our attempts, you were unable to find the guide.
We sincerely regret that your experience did not go as planned and hope this clarifies the situation.
Kind regards,
Towns of Italy

It’s a short tour. It’s rightfully all about the David. It was spectacular and amazing to see the David up close.
Dana_B, Oct 2025
Chiara was a great tour guide. She bridged the gap between humor, information, history and awe. The tour was well organized and concise and I highly recommend Chiara.
Paula_G, Oct 2025
The guide provides a nice background of michelango and general Italian art prior to showing the David
Gisel_L, Sep 2025
Fast and easy to enter Accademia. Everyone has a speaker to hear guide clearly. Perfect introduction and interesting facts about the art and artists. Then time to explore on your own.
Janelle_M, Sep 2025
Lorenzo was our tour guide. Meeting location was a little tricky to find. Very crowded but he did a good job explaining everything.
Kathy_R, Sep 2025
“Skip The Line” ticket holders still wait in line to enter and go through security but it moves quickly. Having a guide to provide background information on the genius Michaelangelo enhanced the overall experience. Lorenzo was a very informative and “zen” guide, much needed on a busy day.
Denise_S, Sep 2025
We had a very good guide and she spoke passionately about the David statue. The museum was overall a good experience
MAGELLAN_B, Sep 2025
Our experience with our tour guide Federica was wonderful. She was pleasant, friendly and took us through the Accademia in a smooth fashion explaining alot of details about the statues etc. Couldnt have a better experience that day as we totally loved Federica.
Sheena_M, Sep 2025
Excellent, content and speaker were great! The location was easy to find and it was nice having a smaller group with a leader because it was easier to move around and see more
Lisa_B, Sep 2025
The ladies the distribute the tix and then take you on the tour are very nice, calm and helpful.
Your was great. They are knowledgeable. 10/10

Fabulous tour when you’re on limited amount of time. Quick, efficient and very thorough. Highly recommended.
Amanda_B, Aug 2025
Our guide was amazing! So funny, so knowledgeable and it was a great day. We got a lot of great backstory, history, it was easy to go in and she took pictures for us. Thank you!
Nicole_J, Jul 2025
I booked this for a Monday, but I got an email from the company saying the museum isn’t open on Mondays, so I wished it wasn’t available to book it for a Monday in the first place, but was grateful for the email. So I changed to Tuesday at 4pm and received the voucher, and when we arrived they said I was supposed to be there at 11:30, even though that’s not what my tickets said. It was a bit hard to find the guide, but she was very good once we did, and I my family and I enjoyed the tour. :)
Deena_S, Jul 2025
This was a nice tour. It lasted right at an hour and was very informative. The group was much smaller than other groups we saw making it easier to stay together and to ask questions if needed.
Response from Host, Jul 2025

I’m not an artsy person, but the English tour with Lorenzo was absolutely amazing! He gave such insightful explanations of the artworks, helping me appreciate them so much more. I came away with a better understanding of the artists’ minds and even learned more about the city itself.
Do expect a bit of unavoidable waiting at the start due to the large crowds, but it’s totally worth it. I also booked this less than 12 hours before the tour—perfect for last-minute plans. Highly, highly recommend!
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Hi Dinali,
Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We’re so glad you decided to jump into a last-minute tour with us—and even happier that Lorenzo made it such an eye-opening experience. Turning someone “not so artsy” into an engaged admirer of Florence’s masterpieces is exactly what we hope for! Lorenzo will be thrilled to know his passion and insight left a real impression.
Your kind words mean so much to us. They remind us why we put so much heart into crafting real, authentic, and unforgettable moments that go far beyond the expected. And next time you’re in Italy… why not explore another side of our culture with one of our hands-on cooking classes?

We really joined this informative tour with our guide. The guide provided a nice mix of stories that put the museum and art in context of the time and also pointed out interesting aspects of the art. I wish it was a bit longer since it was very interesting.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Hi Jose Miguel,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed the tour and that our guide brought the museum and its masterpieces to life with rich context and detail. When a tour leaves you wishing it lasted longer… we take that as a true compliment!
Hearing that you connected with the storytelling and historical insights means a lot to us—it’s exactly why we put so much heart into crafting real, authentic, and meaningful experiences. And since you loved diving into Florence’s artistic treasures… why not join us next time for a hands-on cooking class to discover the flavors of Italy too?

We did have a short wait because of a medical situation, but nothing like those people who had to wait in the real line. A once in a lifetime experience.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Dear Jennifer,
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your kind review!
We’re thrilled to hear that you had a memorable experience on our Discover David at Accademia tour in Florence. Michelangelo’s David truly is a once-in-a-lifetime sight, and we're glad that despite a short wait due to an unexpected medical situation, everything went smoothly for you.
We truly appreciate your positive words and hope to welcome you again soon on another Towns of Italy tour!
Warm regards,

Buyer beware: it is EXTREMELY unclear where to check in for this tour. We arrived 20 minutes early for check in. We asked several tour guides where to go, and they herded us onto a line, despite paying for a “skip the line” tour. Then, once we got the front of the line, we were told we never should have been in that line. At that point, we were 6 minutes late for our tour. When we were finally shown where to go (after going to about 6 different storefronts), we were told our tour guide left and we were considered “no shows”. When we called Viator, we were simply told there was nothing they could do for us. And, tickets were sold out for the day and we were leaving Florence. We were devastated. The Viator agent on the phone was completely unhelpful, as was the third party tour company Viator contracts with. You book with Viator, but you get some other outfit running the tour. To say we were disappointed and frustrated is an understatement. The building where they want you to check in is a small minimart. There is absolutely no signage notating that it is affiliated with a tour company. And, no where in my documents or tickets was the name of the minimart listed.
If I could give this a zero, I would. I am supposedly getting a refund from Viator. I’ll believe it when I see it…unlike the David, which I missed seeing.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Dear Nicole,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience — we are truly sorry for the confusion and disappointment you encountered.
We understand how frustrating it must have been to arrive early, only to be misdirected and ultimately miss the tour. Please accept our sincere apologies for the lack of clear signage and the difficulties in locating the check-in point. Your feedback highlights important issues that we take seriously, and we are already working to improve the clarity of our meeting instructions and the visibility of our meeting points.
We’re especially sorry that this impacted your opportunity to see David — we know how meaningful that moment can be, and we regret you missed it due to the confusion. We understand you have requested a refund through Viator, and we hope this is processed swiftly for you.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We truly value your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future for a more seamless and memorable experience.
Warm regards,

Perfect length of time to see the main attraction without walking all over town. We only had a short window and I’m so glad we decided to book this at the last minute!
MaureenRome_R, Jun 2025
It took about 20 minutes to get in the museum. So, the tour of the art was shorter than the stated time.
Christine_M, May 2025
We did not have a good experience with this tour. We were at the meeting point 15 minutes early, as instructed. We found the tour guide got the headsets - ready to head inside. Next we were then told that the line in would only be a few minutes once our turn came. 45 minutes later we finally got our tickets and got in line to enter the museum. Once inside, the tour started with the David statue. We spent almost 30 minutes doing a very slow circle around the statue. The information given about the statue was very scattered and felt rambling and somewhat pointless at times. My daughter and I decided to hand in our headsets and then walked around the museum ourselves - that was infinitely more enjoyable and we got more information about the art pieces. Overall, the experience with the tour and the tour guide was pretty disappointing. Thankfully the impressive nature of David, as well as the other works at the museum saved the afternoon but I would skip the guide next time.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your tour did not meet your expectations and we truly value your honest feedback.
From our records, we believe you were part of the 4:00 PM Accademia Gallery tour on the day in question. We’d like to provide some context that may help clarify what happened. Due to the limited availability of tickets from the museum’s official provider, the entry time for your group was scheduled at 4:30 PM. While we always aim to minimize waiting times, delays can unfortunately occur, especially during peak season, as was the case that afternoon. The entrance area at that hour is often very crowded, and the situation was further impacted by the high volume of visitors, which made the wait longer and less comfortable than usual.
We're also sorry to hear that the guided portion of the visit did not resonate with you. Our guide had mentioned to our team the possibility of receiving complaints that day due to the unusual logistical challenges. While we strive to offer informative and engaging tours, we understand that expectations may vary and we regret that we didn't provide the clarity and depth you were hoping for.
Your comments are important to us and help us improve our services, particularly during such high-demand periods. Should you give us another opportunity in the future, we’d love to offer you a smoother and more enriching experience.
Kind regards,
Customer Care Team
Kelly_D, May 2025
So helpful to have a tour guide to explain all of the nuances you wouldn’t know just walking in blindly.
Monica_L, May 2025
Our guide (I think her name was Francesca) was unenthusiastic, spoke with a very strong Italian accent that made it difficult to understand her and didn't offer radio sets like other guides so she was often muttering to herself. She kept looking at her watch and managed to make Michelangelo uninteresting. Would not recommend.
Nancy_H, May 2025
We were a little disappointed that this tour bills itself as “skip the line” . . But it’s really not . . . You just get on the “group tour” line. It was a good tour otherwise
Beverley_H, May 2025
So pleased we did this tour, so informative and our tour guide Vanessa was brilliant! Actually seeing the statue of David close up and hearing an explanation all about it was so interesting. The museum is definitely worth a visit. Just be prepared for it to be busy.
BillyRose_P, Apr 2025
The tour guides were well informed and enthusiastic to share their knowledge and passion, and our accompaniment to and on the train - Mateo F. - was very comforting. He made sure we were organized and safely escorted as needed. That sense of comfort and safety throughout such a long day trip to a new environment was especially appreciated.
Emily_L, Apr 2025
Our tour guide was very kind and knowledgeable. She had wonderful character. I would highly recommend. Great English.
Mark_A, Apr 2025
Vanessa was fabulous! Her enthusiasm brought everything to life. The best museum experience yet in Italy.
Response from Host, Apr 2025
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear Vanessa made your visit to the Accademia so memorable. Her passion truly brings the art to life, and she'll be delighted to know she gave you your best museum experience in Italy. We hope to welcome you again soon — grazie!
Loretta_G, Jan 2025
A wonderful, expansive tour! My husband and I were treated to a wealth of insight around a bevy of groundbreaking artists, the art they created, and the cultural context surrounding that art. A wonderful way to experience and enjoy the extraordinary breadth of the Academy without being overwhelmed. Giacinta ( sp? Apologies) was a warm and delightful guide, curating the tour with intuition, expertise and passion. Highly recommend!
