If you’re anywhere near Tuscany, do not miss this experience! The small group pasta-making class and wine tasting at the castle felt straight out of a movie. The hosts were warm, funny, and knowledgeable - and the views? Unreal. Rolling hills, vineyards, and that golden Tuscan light. We made fresh pasta from scratch (so fun and surprisingly relaxing), then sat down to enjoy it with incredible wines produced on-site. The castle itself is rich with history and charm - every corner was photo-worthy. This wasn’t just a cooking class; it was an unforgettable cultural moment. Book it, thank yourself later!

Jerry (the chef) was awesome! Authentic and entertaining engaging all members of the group. This was a group of 10 we had 6 all adults ranging from 19-76 and the other 4 were 2 little girls (5&6 maybe) and their parents. He showed us how to make the pasta dough as well as a vegetable ragù. The meat ragù was prepared in advance as it takes several hours to simmer to get the proper consistency and taste. He is from Bologna so it was a Bolognese, but you don’t call it Bolognese if you’re not in Bologna, you call it Ragu. They then served us what we made and did a wine tasting. Everything was delicious!! Lisa was our guide and taught us about the history of the castle and vineyard. The wine was great. I ended up shipping a few bottle bottles home. That olive oil was amazing. This is a woman owned DOCG Vineyard. And restored castle. I was disappointed that there was not a tour of the inside of the castle, as it is lived in by the owner. But I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.

The staff were all very hospitable and fun. We learned a lot about the property and its history. Enjoyed cooking with Chef Gerry immensely! We also took up their offer to arrange transportation for an additional fee from the city center of Firenze, which was hassle-free and worth it. Beautiful day!

What a great experience

This was the highlight of our trip. The chef (Jerry) was funny and very personable _ you could not like him instantly! We learned about making pasta finding out many new things. The lunch and wine tasting was very good. It was nice to share with the people that were learning just like you. I have already recommended to 2 other travelers to sign up.

Fantastic experience

Jerry is the man! Everyone at the castle was super friendly and knowledgeable. The different courses we made were excellent and it was a superb break from the touristy Florence. Wines were great and my teenage daughters really had fun

Winery & cooking class

Patrick_M, Jun 2024
We started with a tour of the winery and then learned about the history of the castle. Then we did the cooking class. Jerry the chef was fun to work with. Lastly, we ate our pasta in a private space paired with a wine tasting. Highly recommend this experience!

Most Awesome Hidden Gem

Elena was extremely knowledgeable about the wine making process, the castle, the family that owns it and all of that goes into the production of the wine making processes. She was also very knowledgeable about the region and the grapes grown in the region. This was absolutely The best wine tour I’ve ever taken. Jerry the chef who made pasta with us was excellent and His attention to detail showed that he was a true Italian chef. And the meal that we ate at the end of our food class was absolutely awesome. Every single thing about this tour was great and we highly recommend this tour. The tour operator, even arranged transportation for us from the Florence train station to the castle and back to the train station. The castle and the grounds were everything you would imagine it would be.

Great event

Fabulous Family Day at Castello Del Trebbio!

Jody_B, Apr 2024
Absolutely fabulous day at Castello del Trebbio exploring their grounds, winery, and attending a cooking class with our 8-year old child. The castle and scenery surrounding the area was beautiful. It was far enough away from the closest small town to keep the mass tourist scene away, but it was close enough to easily access if you are touring the area with a rental car. The highlight by far was the cooking class led by Chef Jerry. He spoke excellent English for our group of six. All ingredients were laid out and organized, and we took turns assisting him in preparing first our dessert (cake) followed by rolled rosemary and prosciutto chicken breasts, vegetables, a vegetable sauce, and finally pasta. The chef stepped in as needed to assist in the preparation, especially when rolling out our pasta dough. The two hour process kept our kid’s attention; he was never bored. The pacing of the cooking was perfect, so that once we had finished and washed up, we only had a few minutes before everything was served. Our guide paired the estate’s fabulous wine with our meal. This is a five-star experience in Tuscany and excellent for grade school children.

Castle, wine, pasta…can it get any better?!

Cheri_F, Mar 2024
Everyone we met was so knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot about wine making, olive oil production, the Tuscany region as well as pasta making. Simone and Jerry were absolutely delightful to meet and get to know. We had so much fun cooking with Jerry and the food was delicious! Simone was a very gracious host and even waited with us until our taxi arrived. The wines were plentiful and so smooth and delicious. Could not pick a favorite. Loved them all.

Amazing experience!

Katerina_E, Mar 2024
This was my favorite thing we did on our trip to Italy! We learned so much about the wine, the grounds and the castle! Then learning how to make our pasta was so fun! The chef and our guide were amazing. An all around great experience!

Amazing!!

Caroline_C, Feb 2024
Absolutely incredible experience! We had so much fun. Tommaso was a great guide and so knowledgeable about the wine. The cooking class was amazing as well, and the food was incredible. We will definitely be trying to replicate the recipe at home. The venue helped me set up transportation to pick us up from our hotel and drive us home. It was $150 round trip, which was worth it in my opinion as taxis are expensive and this was so convenient. This experience was worth every penny!

Cooking and Wine!

Where to begin! The property is absolutely beautiful on the country side and the staff is beyond amazing, they made the tour fun and interesting! The cooking class was the best part for us. The chef was so kind, funny and helped us all feel involved. The meal we made was out of this world and we got to pair it with so many wines. It was a perfect experience that we would recommend to anyone!

Amazing experience

Jasmine_M, Jan 2024
Our tour guide Tomaso was so sweet and knowledgeable. We were running a few minutes late and he called to make sure we were ok and patiently waited for us to arrive to begin the tour. I loved that this tour included not only a tour of the winery but also the pasta cooking class. Most tours offer only one or the other but this gave us the opportunity to experience both, and in a stunning location with a castle and gorgeous Tuscan views of the mountains. Our chef was so friendly and patient and helped us through the entire cooking class. Even my young daughter who is only 12 had so much fun and was able to participate in the cooking class as well. We loved every minute of it and will definitely be recommending it to all of our friends who visit Florence.

Absolutely amazing. The grounds were breathtaking and the guide shared an amazing history of the castle and their owners. The cellars were something out of a movie. Couldn’t believe how preserved everything was. The chef…extremely engaging and funny. He explained the process with ease and we just had a really great time. Surprisingly everything we prepared was delicious and I say surprisingly because we had some challenges when making the pasta! Not as easy as it looks! Would do it again.

Bravo to the chef

deborah_j, Nov 2023
The history explanation on the tour was so interesting and the cooking class so much fun for even the novice chef

FUN!

True Tuscan Experience

Robert_H, Sep 2023
The experience was amazing. The kids did not participate much in the pasta making experience, but everyone in the family thought that the vineyard was spectacular and the food was 'out of this world' delicious. I would recommend this experience to anyone who loves wine and food!

Awesome experience

Gracie_M, Sep 2023
Absolutely loved the experience! Tommy is a doll and explained every step with detail. The staff was friendly and informative. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful and Tasty Tour

Haarika_R, Aug 2023
The cooking + wine tasting class was an absolute blast! My husband and I lucked out and ended up being the only ones on the tour and the whole time it felt very private. Despite us being the only two, our tour guide Tommaso gave us a wonderful tour throughout the castle and gave us lots of history of the background of the place. After the tour, we had our cooking class with Gerry and we learned to cook pasta, chicken (delicious!) and the traditional Fiorentina cake, schiacciata. We were then served our own cooked meal along with all the wine pairings that went with our lunch. Overall, a great tour!

Wonderful Tour

Sean_B, Jun 2023
This was an amazing tour. My wife and 14 yo daughter and myself went on this tour. It was very intimate, we learned so much about the region and history of the castle, plus had a wonderful time with the coking class. The meal at the end was fantastic and the wine delightful.

Worth every penny!

Jacquie_R, Jun 2023
This experience was worth every penny! Thomas did an amazing job explaining the history of the castle and the wine making process. Chef Jerry was wonderful teaching our class!!! The food was amazing! Our lunch was the best food we have had on our trip, and of the course the WINE! I can’t wait to enjoy our shipment of wine in the US. Thank you to the entire team!

Best excursion!

gina_p, Jun 2023
Such an amazing experience! Beautiful countryside, delicious meal and wine. Loved the tour of the wine caves under the castle! Tomas was a great guide and Chef Jerry was entertaining!

Awesome Experience- no transportation

Alyssa_D, May 2023
The tour and the cooking class were excellent. No complaints. The chef was amazing and we learned many new things, even though we aren’t beginners in the kitchen. The chef made sure every student got a chance to participate and everyone was having a great time. The only issue with this experience is that transportation is not included. They will arrange it for you if you call several days in advance. But taxi’s charge double for the trip.
