A Great Night Out

If you are having trouble finding the Santa Monica church, head toward the large darkened building across from Trattoria Napoleone and then make a left and walk down a bit. You should find it after a minute walk or so. The food was fantastic! Would highly recommend Trattoria Napoleone to my friends. Everyone in there was incredibly kind. The music was also wonderful. We saw three very talented sopranos. All in all a beautiful night out.

Awful dinner

The concert was not bad for its price of EUR 25/person. The dinner was disappointing - we ordered two pizzas from the set dinner menu and the Margherita looked and tasted like the frozen ones from supermarkets. The tiramisu (also from the set dinner menu) was equally awful. My key advice is just to sign up for the concert and go eat somewhere else - there are plenty of good restaurants in Florence.

I saw you can book this opera separately from the dinner.. I would book just the opera. Dinner was okayish and we didn’t really feel welcome in the restaurant. The opera was awesome!

The restaurant was very nice. The music was lovely. Unfortunately we knew nothing about the singers or the paino player. They never even introduced themselves; never knew their names; didn't know their careers, passions....nothing. They didn't speak one word! It would have been great for someone to give some insight into the music chosen. No stage presence....huh?

Never made it there

Our flight was canceled, we wanted to do this so very badly. But Lufthansa had different plans. They charged us full price even though we canceled early in the day....

Opera great. Restaurant a no!

The church was pretty and inviting and the Opera performance and piano were great. Really lovely. The overall rating was dragged down by the resteraunt experience before hand. We arrived ahead of time by 10-15 mins and were told that our reservation had only just been received and that they were full. We were then told that we could wait for 30 mins to be seated. Many people arrived (who had obviously booked direct) and were seated. Our 30 min wait became a 1hr and 10 min wait in the end, regardless of me highlighting to the manager our time constraints. He then seated us with less than 30 mins until we had to be at the Opera. We were set down in a corner I'm the basement. We were not given a menu as it was presumed that we should know what we wanted as it was a set menu (which we had not seen). I also flagged that we were due a dessert. We quickly chose a pizza each and this was delivered to us as soon as the chef and waiting staff could but we only had 10 min to eat before we had to go. So we didn't finish our pizza and had no dessert. For this reason I would appreciate a partial refund. The manager should have not made us wait and just said he would refund the provider we purchased our ticket from so we could go elsewhere. We had just come from a long day travelling and were so hungry and tired. This was meant to be a birthday present experience for my mum but this ruined it to be honest.

Good morning from Caf Tour, We have contacted the restaurant and they told us that there was a delay due to the big influx since it was Valentine's Day.The restaurant had your name on the list, because we advised them the day before. The problem was with other clients of another agency.The restaurant has an app in which they register all the arrivals, orders and departures of clients.The app says that you arrived at 7.37 pm and they told you that there was a delay due to Saint Valentine's dayTo apologize for the delay, they offered you a little snack with a glass of Prosecco. Two of you accepted.At 8.04 pm you sat down, at 08.07pm the waitress was at your table and at 08.10 pm she sent the order to the kitchen.At 08.17 pm they served you the starter and at 08.37 pm they served you pizzas.At 08.57 pm the waitress asked you for dessert but you told that you were late for the concert, so they told you that you could have come back after the concert to get dessert.But you didn't accept. We apologize for the delay, it was a particular and busy day, but the restaurant did the best to let you have the service you paid for.Thanks.Regards

Very memorable and exclusive. Dinner was at a very nice restaurant where you could have pizza or apply the value of the prepaid dinner to any menu items of your choice. The concert was in a beautiful old church (Santa Monica) with gorgeous frescos and amazing acoustics. Very intimate concert by fantastic soprano and pianist of classic arias. Must do!

Quaint restaurant in interesting part of town. Food was good with sizeable portions. Short walk to the church for a beautiful concert- the singer and pianist were extraordinary. Just happened to be all saints day so we were delighted by a fireworks display en route back to our hotel. Lovely evening

I love my opera but my husband would rather go to a rock concert so this was an ideal introduction for him. The songs were the 'hits' from the opera world entertainingly performed and the programme not too long. Bravo to the performers!
