This tour was amazing from start to finish! Both of the guides were excellent and did a fantastic job at keeping us safe around the city. The route we took was so diverse and beautiful and fun to see different parts of Edinburgh. It was so fun having their little dog Lucy on the tour and she was the star of the show! The guides were both attentive to our needs, accommodating and knowledgeable. The best bike tour we have ever taken- would highly recommend and would do it again!

Stewart did a great job of leading the bike tour. He was mindful of people’s different pacing, and he included plenty of stops to talk about all things Scottish. We also liked moving beyond Edinburgh proper to see Leith and Portobello. This was a fantastic time.

Great way to see the outskirts of Edinburgh. Ricardo was very accommodating and informative. We loved his dog Lucy! Glad we had e-bikes, it made it much easier on the hills.

The bikes are great, 3 hours goes by very quickly. Don’t worry about being incredibly fit. The e bike takes care of the incline. Ricardo was a wonderful guide.

Ricardo is a professional experience rider. Very aware of the various levels of riders on the tour. Great combination of local sites and off the beaten track trails. Highly recommend him and Lucy!

It was great! Saw so much & felt that we covered a lot of ground! Enjoyed having Lucy the dog join us too!

Don’t miss it! Fantastic experience with Ricky’s City Bike Tour. For young and not so young with manual and e-bikes. Ricardo was so knowledgeable, funny, and a great cycle leader. Puppy Lucy was wonderful to have on tour if you are traveling and miss your fur babies!

We love a bike tour when we visit new places - and this one did not let us down! Stewart was an amazing guide - so knowledgable! He took us on a fantastic tour of the city (providing us with anecdotes, facts and stories as we went) and out to Portabello Beach, before looping back via the quay and a coffee stop. If we hadn’t done this tour, we would never have seen so many of these sites - or realised that the beach was just a short bike ride away!
We opted for the e-bikes and covered about 20km but, other than a bit of a hill at the end, we didn’t massively need the boost…it was just nice not to have to break too much of a sweat on a packed mini break!
By the end, we had a list of places that we knew we wanted to revisit and explore - and some great recommendations! Thank you!

I really enjoyed the cycling tour around Edinburgh. Ricky was an excellent and pleasant guide, sharing interesting history of the areas as we rode and stopped. He was attentive and ensured everyone’s safety throughout the ride. The bike provided was well-maintained and in great condition, making the ride comfortable. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience on a beautiful day.

We had an absolutely fantastic time on the e-bike tour around Edinburgh and couldn’t recommend it more. From start to finish, everything was so well organised — clear directions, excellent quality e-bikes, and all the equipment you need to feel comfortable and confident on the road.
Our tour guide was truly lovely: incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about Edinburgh. They shared fascinating history and local insights while keeping the ride relaxed and enjoyable, making it easy to take everything in without feeling rushed.
The small group size was perfect — it felt personal, safe, and easy to keep together, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. And a special mention has to go to Lucy, the cutest dog ever, who completely stole our hearts and somehow made an already great tour about 10x better 🐶💛
If you’re looking for a fun, informative, and beautifully paced way to see Edinburgh, this e-bike tour is an absolute must. We’d do it again in a heartbeat!

Great fun, very informative and we loved Lucy barking at squirrels and running her heart out along the river.

Great guide and a terrific tour. The electric assist bikes made the tour super easy. The tour provided a great overview of Edinburgh.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our morning bike tour with Stuart. We covered a lot of ground (14.5 miles according to my Apple watch/map) and saw many sites in a fun and engaging manner. We opted for the pedal assist bikes and I would recommend this because there are definitely some hilly parts. Plus, why not give yourself a bit of juice while riding on vacation? I ride both a road bike and a pedal assist at home and found the bike to be easy to use. We did ride with traffic for very short sections, crossed busy intersections and rode on cobblestones. It is all part of the city experience and it was incredibly easy and safe to just follow Stuart. I would take this tour again and recommend it!

I would not recommend this tour for anyone. The tour stopped multiple times to repair the bikes, which were in terrible condition. The tour also stopped for the guide to chase after his dog on numerous occasions. We indicated upon booking that we wanted e-bikes, but the guide was short of them and we received normal bikes instead. After he got upset several times about us lagging behind, he finally stopped for 5 minutes to chew us out. After another mile he kicked us off the tour and chewed us out for needing to chain his bikes to a pole. We needed to pay for tram fare to return to the starting point. I've guided novice runners and bikers for decades and the first rule is you never leave anyone behind. This was the most arrogant, unprofessional tour leader I've ever encountered.

The trip was a great trip where we pass by many beautiful places. I would recommend taking electric bike as I took the hybrid one and it was too much for me. Thank you to our tour guide 🙏🏻

Ricky was very nice. His dog was a huge distraction! One of my friends almost hit the dog with her bike when the dog was running around! Riding through the city was kind of rough with traffic and lots of people! Riding through the parks was my favorite part!
Barbara_N, Sep 2025
Fun experience cycling through Edinburgh. Very nice guide and his assistance. I rented an e-bike but I would have done fine with a regular bike. Mostly a flat route.
MICHELE_M, Sep 2025
Ricky does an amazing job of keeping everyone safe during the tour all the while providing in-depth historical and current information about Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. We enjoyed meeting his dog Lucy. She loved to run behind Ricky's bike. The best part was taking a short break on Portobello Beach. The tour included several stops in Edinburgh as well as three stops outside the city.

It is a great opportunity to visit special and spectacular places in Edinburgh. Ricky is the best guide tour. We had a fun, safe, interesting ride.
Thomas_E, Aug 2025
My wife and I had a great time - neither of us had spent much time on E-bikes - but our guide Ricky was very helpful in getting us all adjusted and comfortable prior to heading out. I would definitely recommend using the ebike - as there are sections going uphill where this comes in handy. Ricky was highly engaging and entertaining (with his little dog Lucy in tow) - and made for a great guide. Not easy I’m sure leading a dozen people of various skill levels through the streets of Edinburgh and then into more remote areas - but he manages to do it well and was a walking (or riding I suppose) encyclopedia of local knowledge and history. So many sights and places we would have never discovered or even known about had we not done this tour. And all were well worth the time and memorable
After our 4 day stay in Edinburgh was complete - we agreed the bike tour was one of the best decisions we made to explore the area. Highly recommended

What a fun ride this was! Our tour guide, Ricky, was both patient and informative, and showed us many parts of the city that you might miss if you’re on one of those big buses.
The e-bikes are very easy to handle, even if you’ve never ridden one before.
If you’re especially lucky, Ricky’s adorable puppy, Lucy, will be along for the ride — what a treat that was for us!
Marta_J, Jul 2025
Ricardo did an excellent job of making the tour fun and able for all skill levels. He was very patient with our group and understanding our needs. The coffee stop was planned well and we loved meeting Lucy, his little puppy!
Mary_S, Jul 2025
Stuart was essential to having fun during our adventure e-bike tour!! We loved everything about the biking tour, from the Meadow, Alexander's Seat (seeing deer), to the beach (which we love!) and all around Edinburgh! We learned a great deal while burning off calories and riding through Scotland's most beautiful places!!
Melika_M, Jul 2025
We had a great experience with the tour. Ricky and Bobby were great guides, and Lucy (Ricky's dog) was such a good girl! They also took us to areas that we would not go by ourselves, so we got to see a completely different version of the city.
catherine_g, Jul 2025
Great tour around Edinburgh + history background+ pleasant people! I highly recommend!!!! Go for it!
Gretchen_M, Jul 2025
We really enjoyed our bike tour of Edinburgh and saw things we would not have seen otherwise. Ricky and Robby went above and beyond. It was a fairly big group for a bike tour with participants using bikes and e-bikes which resulted in a couple of minor
slow downs. Smaller groups perhaps divided by bike types would have made the experience even better than it was! I highly recommend!!!
John_M, Jul 2025
RIcky was our tour guide and did an excellent job keeping the tour interesting and everyone safe. I would recommend this tour. You get to go places and see things a little off the beaten track that you normally would not get to see.
Kristi_C, Jul 2025
Our guides Ricky and Robbie were great despite the miserable rainy weather. It was a group of 12 so it was hard to hear him. We also had to take an alternate route due to the weather. We enjoyed it!

Amazing tour. Highly recommend.
Ricky is a wonderful tour guide in every sense of the word.
Really enjoyed the historical explanations, the beautiful sights, and of course, the easy riding electric bike.
The wonderful company of Lucy (the most amazing border collie) was the most wonderful surprise.
Wish the team all the best…

This was super fun. We had a great time with our guide, Ricardo, and his precious dog, Lucy 💕Went around the city, through the park, and to the coast. So much great information, and a bit of exercise. A great way to see the city, and learn at the same time. Highly recommend. Thanks Ricardo & Lucy!
