Travelers are picked up between 8:00am and 8:30am on the morning of their tour. A precise pick up time will be given on confirmation of booking. Uplift and return can be arranged from most addresses within Edinburgh including hotels, B&B's, self service accommodation, transport hubs, private homes and popular meeting points. Tour is scheduled to return back to Edinburgh between 5:30pm and 6:00pm.

We had a fabulous day riding with Johann. His e-bikes were in great condition and very comfortable. His great sense of humor and enthusiasm made the trip so much fun. The scenery in the park was spectacular! Johann is very knowledgeable about the history of the area and took us to places that were off the beaten path. We highly recommend this trip!!

Johan was engaging and fun. We enjoyed our e-bike tour and recommend it. He was very kind as well- he drove to our hotel the next day to drop off a pair of sunglasses zi left on the tour. His use of his time to correct my mistake shows you what this personalized tour is like.

Johann gave us a great tour. The bikes were top notch. He provided everything we needed including gloves for our cooler ride. He took us to a very quaint restaurant for lunch that had a variety of good options. He was very knowledgeable about the area and was very interesting to talk to. The scenery was beautiful and very peaceful. A great way to experience life beyond the city. Fully recommend.

Johann was our bike guide for the day and we knew when we met him, it was going to be a good day. We stopped a few times along the way at small towns and historic sites. Johann is a local, so he was able to give us the historic info and the interesting local folklore. It was a fun way to learn! The views on the van ride to the Highlands and Trossachs National Park Park were amazing. The bike trip was so much fun. We rode on an old train trail winding along the beautiful countryside. Even a drenching rain didn’t dampen our fun. We stopped at a local restaurant for lunch, warmed up and dried off a bit before starting on the second part of the bike tour which was equally fun. We would highly recommend this trip, especially with Johann!!

E-bike tour would have been perfect but for the weather. National Park and mostly off road trails cycling. Great little restaurant for lunch and very accommodating.

Wow I cannot rate this high enough! I was so excited for this tour and it was even better than I expected. Johann stopped along the way to show us local sights and told us about the history of the places we went and then took us on the most beautiful bike ride through the highlands! We had great weather and the food at the lunch resturaunt was amazing (try the soup!) I really can’t reccomend this tour enough and Johann made it such a full and awesome day!!

Johan was a great tour guide and all around nice, conversational, polite and personable guy. The biking path was well thought out to provide for different levels of biking expertise. The scenery was beautiful and picturesque. A nice change from the city scenes in Edinburgh.

Johann was an excellent guide. He's so knowledgeable about the area and history. He brought us to two castles, an old church, through the Trossachs National Park and he included stops for amazing photo opportunities. The trip on the ebike started out with a little rain, but what an amazing way to experience Scotland! After about 5 min, the sun came out which dried everything and made for a glorious day. If we could take this ebike trip again, my husband and I would do it in a heartbeat. The bikes were also a dream to operate.

This tour was incredibly informative and picturesque. Our tour guide was phenomenal. He took us to an outstanding restaurant for lunch. He had a remarkable amount of knowledge about the local history and presented it in a most entertaining manner.

Sadly this trip was cancelled due to weather however Johann was more than accomodating and I did the half day bridges bike tour.
Thoroughly enjoyed this and cannot recommend highly enough.
The bike was modern and well maintained.
Our guide was informative, friendly and knowledgeable.

Super competent capable positive trip leader, careful driver, very considerate. As a 60 yr old cyclist on an e-bike it was easy but other younger riders rated it mild-end of moderate. Restraint lunch break was truly delicious. One 20 min vertical hike totally worth the view. Best outing day in Scotland! Thank you Johann!

If I could leave 6 stars I would!!! The views!!!! The path/tour was amazing!!!! Dedicated bike trails, stunning views! Johan our was the best as well, without a doubt top notch tour worth every penny! He took us to incredible locations even a hike to a Loch overlooki that is breath taking! A memory for a lifetime!!!!!

This was a fun day with Johann, what a guy! I chose to do this as a warm-up for a 3 day C2C. Johann provided excellent conversation and input, I so appreciated all of his info as it gave me the confidence I needed to ride a bike across the country. The highlands bike ride was gorgeous and I enjoyed the little hike we took to see an incredible view. The lunch cafe where we stop is really good, I recommend getting the Brie and cranberry toastie. Their homemade bread is one of the best I’ve had. And stopping to visit and feed the cows was right up my alley (middle aged American women are obsessed with cows, betcha didn’t know that). Anyway, if you are looking to get out of Edinburgh for the day and you are fit enough for a 20 mile ride and a good uphill hike, do it. If you aren’t sure about your bike stamina, get an bike as there are hills.

Johann was such a great guide. The weather wasn’t favorable for our tour day and he went out of his way to accommodate our group. Our tour group was small enough to allow for good interaction and connection with our guide Johann. We highly recommend this tour. Such a great way to see the Scottish Highlands.

Absolutely loved my experience on this tour. Johann was a fantastic guide and was so hospitable from start to finish. He picks you up from where you’re staying and has snacks and water provided. He knows so much about Scotland and is very engaging in conversation. The biking itself was stunning and was broken up with breaks at just the right times including a great lunch spot. The views are just breathtaking and this tour is a great way to get a taste of the Scottish countryside for the day. Johann also provided lots of helpful recommendations from a local’s point of view of what to do in Edinburgh. Would highly recommend this tour it’s one of my favorites I’ve done and would definitely book it again in the future!

Trip was a fantastic experience. Small group size was perfect. Groups are limited to 7 and there were 4 in our group. Johann was a knowledgeable and informative guide. Trip was well paced and well executed. We chose the e-bike option which was perfect for our family. Two stops on way to national park gave us unique opportunities to see other sights such as Linlithgow Palace. Would definitely recommend. Gorgeous setting for a ride, and safe paths/roads to ride. Guide was prepared and organized, high quality equipment. Lovely lunch at a B & B.

This was a fantastic day trip in the Highlands. Very well organized. From the pick up at the B&B , the van ride to the start of the tour , great equipment , nice orientation to use of it and personable , helpful guiding along a wonderfully scenic route, just long enough with a short hike to a viewpoint about mid way . This day plan had it all. Our group loved Johann the owner / guide of Tartan Bicycle . We said we’ll definitely be back with more buddies in the future . Highly recommended . Oh yes -I forgot to mention the wonderful spot selected for the lunch - the best food !! I could go on and on - but you need to book it for yourself.
