Be aware the beginning is just a big sales pitch through these different shops and the “beach” horseback riding is on a dirty disgusting trash filled beach. Not to mention most of the riding is through these back random woods and muddy drainage ditches crossing busy asphalt roads with cars whipping by around blind corners, lesson learned going to horseback riding outside the US. Would not recommend.

Wonderful day out seeing the city, then horse ride along the beach. Pablo our guide with the horses was excellent. 👌

We had a great experience. The total trip was perfect. Did a hike up to a waterfall and came sliding down in the water my wife loved it, then we went to a local shop where they were making cigars and lots of chocolate. We finished up with a horse ride with just me and my wife finished up the guide my wife ride's and owns horses she loved the horse she was ride and it like the water and she always dreamed of riding a horse in the ocean. It was a perfect day for her. Thanks a lot really appreciate your help in your hospitality.

From the ship it is about a mile walk to the car. Note, they have pedi-cab that will take you from ship to duty free store. saves about a 1/4 a mile and maybe 10 miinutes.
Once outside the port gates, we were met by Carmen in a well kept air conditioned mini van. Just the two of us, so it was a private tour. About a 15 minute drive into town then several stops. Amber Museum, Rum factory and chocolate factory then some walking around the town. Carmen had it timed perfectly, arrvied just as the rum tour was starting. After about an hour plus a ride back to the just past the port for the hoseback riding. Horseback on a trail and the beach that was enjoyable. note. don't wear white. Because water, sand and a bit of mud you may (in my case) a bit of mud on you. You can see the beach from the ship, that is how close the horse back riding is. She dropped us just out side the gate, saved us about a 1/4 mile walk. Overall, a private tour at a great price!

If your in Dominican Republic definitely give this excursion a go and ask for Tammy she was so good and helpful to us bought us to all the places listed safely and comfortably we got to make and smoke our first cigars the rum house tour was good everything was timed perfectly not too long not too short she bought us around all the main parts of the city took photos of us without hesitation
Tammy really went the extra mile for us from the very start she even asked me my favourite music and I told her it was reggae and she played it in her car for me for the whole journey she was very kind funny and informative about the island and the island life and in general I would 100 percent be recommending her to my family and friends the horse riding on the beach was unreal it finished off the trip perfectly

This was an amazing tour that I will recommend to all my family and friends!!! The tour took us to a chocolate factory, rum factory, several shops around the city, to the city square, amber museum, and horseback riding. I also appreciated the provided transportation with water and AC. Alex was an amazing tour guide and very informative. I felt safe with him guiding us around the city.

Quite a long horse ride down the beach and into the woods as well. The horses felt a bit lean and underfed. Nice experience, but probably wouldn't do it again. The guide did take a ton of great photos/videos.

Excellent, what a great way to see the city! We loved the tour so much we will be flying back to the DR. Our tour guide was great, she took us to all the highlights, gave us time to explore, she took great pictures! It was really a personal tour. The horseback riding was a nice way to end the tour but wouldnt do it again due to the area we rode in, but the guides there were very nice and helpful! Cant wait to go back, thanks T!!

This is a fantastic tour and our guide was wonderful. He let us decide where to go first and never rushed us. Also, the escorts for the horseback portion were great. The 2 men who rode with us were great. It felt we got 2 excursions in 1. I couldn’t ask for more and highly recommend this activity for anyone who wants to get the most out of their time in Puerto Plata.

This was the worst tour I have ever taken. We were not picked up at the cruise port and had to walk 15 minutes to the highway. There was very little that you would call a city tour. We stopped at the rum factory which was okay and then a c hocolate shop where we got a few samples and then we wwre asked to buy stuff. Once we reach the horses everyone was very nice but tried to put on multiple helmets that did not fit saying that they did fit. The horses looked like typical rental horses. The stirrups were not adjusted and request to change were ignored. We did ride the horses along the beach and through some muddy water. They did take our picture using our phones which was nice. The best thing I can say about this tour is that people were friendly and we did ride along a beacj.

This is a Shore Excursion of 2 and Half Hours ( 1 Hour For Horse Beach Ride ).
Is not a Full City Tour, is only a City Sightseeing. We stop only at Rum Factory, Chocolate Factory and Puerto Plata Sign.
On the other hand, we are Not Able To Pick you Up in Side AMBER COVE Cruise Ship Port, we are located outside by the Highway.
We sorry for the Inconveniences and want to Thank you for Visit Us.

It was a very long walk outside of the Amber Cove gated area to meet up with the driver. No one inside of Amber Cove could help direct us. The tour (taxi) driver was very attentive and helpful although did not speak English well. He took us to the Rum Tour, then downtown to his specific jewelry and the Amber museum.
The horse ride was last. We were the only two on the tour. The horse guides were very helpful and we had one in front and back and they took pictures and videos for us. The beach area was VERY dirty with lots of trash and debris and bugs. Our horses only went in the water to cross the river which flowed into the ocean. We were ready to come back to the stables to give our skinny horses a break and hopefully some more food. I suspect there is very little regulation in DR for stables.

The site seeing tour is more of a shopping tour. But the products were high quality. I would have preferred less time sightseeing as people wanted to shop and it took long. Our guide Alexander and the driver were very knowledgeable and accommodating. The horseback riding was quite the experience. We told Pedro we wanted to go in the water. He accommodated all our requests and took pictures and video of us. An awesome experience and so glad we went with this tour. You will get wet/muddy horseback riding, but worth it. Thank you for creating a memorable experience for us.

Do not book this excursion and maybe the horses will have a chance at a better life. Horrible experience! The horses were dirty, skinny and unkempt. We were taken through a small neglected neighborhood as the horses tiredly plodded through the street in a circle to end a few minutes from where we started at a coastline littered with garbage. We were promptly lined up (4 of us) with the water behind us, a picture was taken and then we were returned to where we started. There was no Beach ride at all. Then we had to sit there and wait for our guide to return. The sightseeing was okay but not much to see actually. Worst excursion ever. Shameful.

The service is outstanding, and a lot if heart is put into the activities. Car rides were on time and we were well taken care of. The horse ride was lovely…and it lasted most of the afternoon! Thanks for a spectacular day all of you who took such great care of us!

This advertisement was very misleading. We rode horses that were very dirty and unkept through a very poor village. We rode onto a dirty beach for a few minutes and took a photo. Nothing like what was shown in the advertisement photo. Very disappointing and overpriced.

Everything from the meetup to the tour was great! The guides were friendly, funny, and kind. One was even an awesome photographer. I really enjoyed the experience even though I didn't do the horse part because the others in the group didn't participate.

You as_holes canceled my trip without notice while I was standing in port waiting to get picked up! I received my cancellation email when I got back to the ship around 1:00 pm. Zero communication! Won’t use them again!

Our guide was waiting for us as soon as we exited the cruise ship area. He was very personable and gave us a history and background of his country while we drove to the different stops. We visited the city first then we moved on to the horseback ride. At the stables we were giving our horses and instructions on how to quote drive them. The ride was nice and the beach was very secluded nice to walk on we were given a choice of ridingback or going across a river with the horses, I recommend wearing shoes that you don't mind getting wet also the same for pants. I wore shorts down they got a little wet also. The guides were great they used our phones to videotape us riding and taking pictures. Overall I would highly recommend this experience. Your shopping experience were great too oh and the rum factory

This was absolutely amazing! Our guide William went above and beyond to take care of us! From the Rum factory (plenty of free samples 😋) Amber museum (amazing + fresh cigars), Chocolate place (free samples 😋), Umbrella street, Pink Alley and of course my favorite the horseback riding! This was not a short ride, long and beautiful views on the beach and through the countryside. At least an hour which was plenty! William even took us to a local place for some authentic Dominican food and it was soooooo good! Food is not included with excursion but the prices were very reasonable! A must Do!

Do not hesitate - book this!! There will be a short walk to right outside port area but TOTALLY worth it. We are 55 and 62 and it was an easy walk. I can not begin to say enough about this experience. I was a little cautious about booking horseback riding on the beach bc a lot of tours I read about said not a lot of time actually on beach. Well this tour exceeded that!! We rode on beach/in water entire time except where it was too deep for horses. If I could give this a higher rating I would. We loved Pepperoni and Rocky (our horses). Ralphlel was our guide at beach ride - excellent! William and Andrea did great on our city tour. Great experience!!

Great experience. We were a family of 8 and these guys really take care of us and made sure we had a great experience. One of the guides asked me for my phone and kept it to record and take pictures. All I have to say is WOW. The videos and pictures were awesome and way better than anything I would have captured.
