That this is a true animal sanctuary which is operated by many volunteers. They operate without any assistance from the Government and that they rely mostly on Tourism.
It was a wonderful interaction with the wildlife, experience the condors flying, feeding the alpacas & Lamas….

Wonderful private tour of animal sanctuary. Have the ability to get up close and feed some of the animals. It is about a 30 min ride from central Cusco.

Amazing experience!! Manuel was very informative from the moment he picked us up at our hotel. He explained everything there was to know about each animal we saw at the sanctuary and even shared their funny quirks. I love that all the animals they take in get released into the wild, as long as they are healthy enough to do so. Highly recommend this excursion!

It’s a sanctuary for animals who have been rescued from poachers etc. The sanctuary is run primarily by a family with a few volunteers in humble circumstances, they do their absolute best by the animals.

We were picked up at our hotel and dropped off there after the tour. The animal sanctuary was wonderful. We had a private tour and were able to feed most of the animals. We learned about all the animals and how they rehabilitated them and released them. The highlight was having a condor fly over our heads!

Must see if you care about animals. So powerful to hear their stories and how far each of them have come. Spending time with them is honestly the best thing I did in Peru and that which gave me the most positive energy. Will be back with my husband. I miss all of them already!

We took this VIP tour which inclued pick up and drop off from our hotel. Got to feed some rescued animals and birds. Watching the condors in flight was a truly amazing experience. We are also glad that the money goes to a good cause.

We really appreciated that to the VIP included transport from our hotel. It was easy and well communicated. Once we arrive, we were greeted by an English speaking guide that let us take our time to experience and learn about each animal rescue. We had an opportunity to feed them and Marvel around the sanctuary.

We loved Cochahuasi and it's a great way to spend an afternoon or morning, just 30-40 minutes from Cusco. There are plenty of animals to see, many of the out in the open. The sanctuary does a terrific job caring for an rehabilitating animals which have been abused and trafficked. The dedicated staff do an important job and their dedication is obvious. Plus it's fun feeding the animals and sitting in the huge cage learning about the animals as a condor flies past. Our thanks to Aurelio at Cochahuasi and Mario the driver

This tour was great!! We got to feed macaws and alpacas. The condors are so big and the guide had them fly over us, awesome. I’d go back again.

Wanted a short afternoon activity that was a bit of a change of pace of all the other activities in Cusco and SV. Booked this tour last minute and they were able to accommodate me and have me picked up at my hotel. The sanctuary itself is a bit bittersweet, as it is sad to see some of the animals there (especially the bears and pumas) but its also good to know that these animals were saved from much worse situations and are now being cared for as best as possible. It was also really fun to interact with and feed the very friendly Llamas, Alpacas and Macaws

Great experience on our last day in Peru. We were collected on schedule from our hotel in Cusco (you can send message to operator after booking to select a time) and driven to sanctuary. Guided tour was excellent with lots of information about the animals and their history/reasons for rescue. We were able to feed tortoises, llamas, alpacas and, macaw, watched condors flying (and mating!) and were lucky to catch a glimpse of a puma. We also saw vicunas and toucans. Our driver stayed on site during the visit and dropped us back at our hotel.

Probably the best part of our trip to Peru! The staff was knowledgeable, not only knowing facts about the species, but also knowing each animal’s name and personality. It was very clear that the staff cared passionately about each of the animals they looked after. The facility was clean, the animals looked well taken care of, and it was busy during our tour, which was great! I’m glad so many people visit and support this wonderful place!

If you're interested in animals, it's well worth a visit! The animal sanctuary is about half an hour outside of Cusco, and you learn about the different animals there, including being able to feed some of the animals! From llamas and alpacas to bears and big cats!
The driver who took us there also stopped several stops for photo opportunities too!

We visited animal sanctuary, we fed parrots, llama, and we were able to see flying condor. Unforgettable and very humbling experience. I would recommend this tour to any animal lover.

It was a nice experience and I am glad my money went to a good cause, however, it was disappointing because I paid $65 and the description of what was included said feeding llamas and alpacas, experience with turtles and experience with macaws. However, I did not get to experience any of that so I feel like I did not get my money’s worth.
