Due to horrible weather our cruise ship was not allowed to port. So clearly we were unable to go on our excursion. Viator/Tour offers NO INSURANCE or refunds for ANY circumstances. So buyer beware. Viator does not have the customers best interests in mind. False reviews and tour guides are not held to any standards. Buyer beware if booking any cruise excursions go thru your shi. They offer refunds in case of inclement weather.

Great beach day

Beautiful place! Not crowded at all. The food was good and the drinks were strong! We enjoyed spending the day there while our ship was docked.

Decent and Priced Right

Costa Maya is a really under developed port "town" without much to see or do besides snorkeling, atv rides, diving, and a few small beach clubs. The one we visited was small, quaint, uncrowded (in May 2022), and a short drive from the port (10 mins). Our driver kept in communication, was waiting for us, and he was really nice. The beach club was really small (room for about 75-100) but there was plenty of chairs in the shade and in the sun. The beach was raked and clear of most beach debris. The swim area was small with only a 15x10 feet area to actually swim in. The rest of the water area (about 80x50 feet total) was very shallow, not much more than ankle deep. There was a net around the swim/wade area to keep out sea life. The food was excellent as was the service. The club bathrooms seemed clean but did have a strong urine smell. Overall it was a good experience.
