Including the taxi fare in the ticket price was very convenient. Be sure to be aware of the required gratuity before leaving. It was fair given the good service, multiple drinks and plenty of food - including lobster!

Really great experience. Easy fun day- wish we could have stayed longer. Easy transportation from cruise port, met at taxi drop off by hotel staff where they paid for the taxi and took us to our beachside chairs where we immediately ordered food and drinks and started relaxing. Food was amazing and drinks were too. I was with my 2 daughters ages 12 and 15- service was top notch and the massages were fantastic

AMAZING! The transportation to the resort was easy to find from the cruise port. The beach was clean and quiet. The water was perfect, not too deep. There were a couple of boats coming in and out but it wasn’t an issue. Our concierge, Jimena, was lovely and took excellent care of us. The food and drinks were so good. If you’re looking for a nice beach while you’re in port for the day, would highly recommend Nacional!

This place is well worth the money. I was a little skeptical because it was the most we paid for an excursion on our carnival cruise trip but the money was worth it. We got off the ship early and ate breakfast here. The authentic juevos rancheros were amazing and the beach breakfast was a perfect way to start the day. They only sell the amount of chairs they have and your name will be written on a sign at your chair when you get there so there’s no risk in not having a spot or this place being over crowded. The food was by far the best of any all inclusive I’ve done. I had steak and lobster from their grill for lunch and it was better that what we had on the ship. The drinks are made with good liquor and you have a waiter to wait on you all day long. If you are looking for a change of pace and a relaxing day on the beach this is it! I’d give if 6 stars if I could

Really enjoyed ourselves. The weather was very overcast but the palapa were great to lay under and listen to the waves. The dinner we had was excellent and the bar staff kept our drink a coming! lol

This was a wonderful beach and awesome food and drinks. They greeted use at the front and welcomed us. The food, drinks and beach are wonderful.
I just wish I would have known that there is a sandbar that runs across the beach and you have nowhere to swim. I took my 12 year old granddaughter for her birthday and she was sad that you can not go out and just float. We had a great time anyway because of the wonderful food and beauty of it all.

I loved it- great service, food and drinks! The Nutella crepe!! There are a lot of vendors, so that may bother some.
Two of my family members didn’t enjoy it as much- thought food was just ok, maybe add activities.

Nacional is a much smaller venue for a beach day allowing approximately 40 or so guest to have a more relaxing beach experience. Even though it was high season they were not very busy, which suited me just fine. They have an excellent beach that was free and clear of seaweed as well as having a nice comfortable lounger with a 3" thick lounging pad. The food and drinks were very nice. My brother and I enjoyed the Restaurant for our dinning, and while he was getting his massage I hung out at the small pool near-by and chatted with some other guest. Over-all I would have to say this was one of the highlights of our trip! And I would recommend highly if you intend on staying away from the more active party atmosphere!

I’ve been to Costa Maya well over 20 times now; we’ve tried most of the “resorts”, excursions, A la carte beach clubs, etc… Nacional is a bit pricey, but well worth your investment. You can shop around on some 3rd party apps, but unless you get a Black Friday deal, it’s pretty much the same price. Transportation is included as well as towels. Bathrooms are clean and monitored. The food is fresh and hearty, keep in mind this is Authentic Mexican food, not Tex Mex.. order accordingly. Drinks are strong and cold. Beach chairs have actual cushions, not just thin mats. Yes they have Vendors, so does every beach in town..just say no. We felt safe and well appreciated! We will be back, you should try it, you won’t be disappointed.

The staff was very friendly attentive and accommodating drinks were great. They were strong. Food was good, but the location didn’t quite look the same as it did online a little smaller but very nice. the chairs were comfortable not far from the cruise port, easy transportation there back.

The resort was nice and the food was good. The guacamole and fajitas did not disappoint. There were no less than 30-40 vendors trying to sell you something. It was constant. Constant interruptions so no way to relax. Beach was small but maintained well. Probably won’t go again due to the constant sales.

The staff is very attentive, they were simply wonderful, the food was delicious they greeted us upon arrival and promptly paid the taxi, easy entry into the ocean, yes there was some seaweed but it is the ocean 😊👍 will definitely recommend and come back

The excursion meeting point--my biggest worry--was easy to find once you figure out how to get out of the port shops area. We were directed to the taxi point immediately. Once we arrived at Nacional, we were checked in and was serviced by Julian all day long. Julian made sure we were not wanting for anything. He was especially accommodating with my grandsons who had dropped pizza incidents as soon as it was delivered. He quickly ran back and got us another!
He brought out a paddleboard, and since we literally had the beachfront to ourselves for the day, we enjoyed it in the warm lagoon water.
The only downside were the constant beach merchant hawking. Same people over and over and over again. My son's family purchased some offerings but really was bothered by the constant interruption.
At the end of the day, we looked forward to showering off the coral sands, but the offered showers were not operational. My grandsons got abrasions from the shell-cracked mixed sand when walking back through port and back to the ship.
If ever back in Costa Maya, we will keep this top of mind.

It rained but the staff was great, never had to wait on anything, we sit inside till it sped raining and then was waited on outside...The pizza and guacamole were very good..Highly recommend the dirty monkey!

Nice place overall with good service and good food. If it wasn't for the large amount of beach vendors I would recommend and book again. Hard to relax with so many beach vendors though. You can't lean back and have peace because they stop and try to get your attention by talking to you until you say no. There were more times than I can count where someone was asking me to buy something probably every 30 seconds. This problem isn't specific to this business from what I understand but it makes it hard for us to enjoy this port. Also the beach is very shallow and there are power boats that are rented parked nearby and they drive right thru the swim area. The pool is tiny and when I was there was just a splash area for kids.

Was horrible... The are spelled realy bad of sewer. The beach was horrible you couldnt get in the water. The food was OK, the drinks were so watered down it was like drinking kool-aid. the vendors were constantly harrassing you to buy there product. The pool was dirty.

We are so sorry that your experience with us wasn't what you expected.
There things in nature that we can have control like low tide like and the seaweed. We are making our best to maintain seaweed away from our beach but we can't control it, that week expecific we have low tide.
About the food and drink we are going to improved in the drinks.
About the beach we are going to tell the vendors not to talk to the guest

This was the worst excursion I have ever experienced. The beach was dirty, the water and the sand. Swimming pool was the size of a hot tub and only one, with kids splashing. The drink was so weak you could see through it, Bloody Mary. After waiting 30 minutes for 2 lobster I was told it would be 20 more minutes. The peddlers were like vultures continually swarming. The massage tables were out in the sun. After paying $240 we still left after 40 minutes. Requested a refund and "Cheryl" said she would "see". Absolutely disgraceful.

Hello Cora you left because they were kids at the beach, we are a family hotel, that day we told you we were experience low tide sorry if we can't control Mother Nature we are going to try.
Even you go angry and been disrespectful to the staff we take you to the taxi and refund you.
The ladies of the massage at the beach are not from the Nacional but also we are going to talked to them.

Traveler Beware:
1.) GETTING THERE: None of the taxi drivers wanted to pick up the fare to get to this location because it is included in the price of the excursion. We waited 15-20 minutes for the guy arranging taxis to get us a ride. Also, you have to walk out of the main port taxi area to get a taxi, no one inside the gate will help you.
2.) ARRIVAL: They were waiting for us to arrive and had umbrellas and loungers reserved for us and had our names written on a chalk sign, this was nice. Chairs were comfortable with tables, and we had a nice shady spot. No loud music playing so it was quiet.
3.) FIRST IMPRESSION: We arrived at the Beach Club, and I use that term loosely. It says that it's a beach club, but honestly, it's a restaurant, that has beach access. There is a tiny pool outside the restaurant, but we did not get in it. You walk across a cement back street to get to the beach area. For the price point of this excursion, and the Beach Club name, I guess I was expecting a better experience. I should have done more research.
3.) SERVICE/FOOD: The service was not great; the girls were nice enough but rarely did anyone come to see if we needed anything; we kept having to flag a waitress down from across the cement street to get a refill or order food. We only saw two other couples on the beach area the whole time we were there; service should have been a 10. The food was okay - the shrimp cocktail came out basically in a glass bowl of ketchup. It was not ideal. Beware of drinking anything that has ice because I am not certain that the water is filtered. I tried to get someone to clarify this for me, but they acted like they didn't know what I was saying.
4.) BEACH: The beach area is decent because they have a fence up that keeps the seaweed from getting to the beach. It hinders your view, but the seaweed is unbearable and stinks so bad, so that's the price you pay at this port. The water is clear but because of the fence you only get waste deep. The fence keeps most of the wildlife out, so you basically just have green water. No shells to find, but the sand is nice and soft. I didn't even need swim shoes.
5.) VENDORS: There is nothing to stop the street vendors from selling their goods in this area, it's a public beach. We had no less than 50 people come by nonstop trying to sell us stuff. (Men, women, and even little, small kids). It makes it hard to relax when someone is constantly coming up to you. Even stray dogs. Did not feel comfortable leaving our belongings at the chair because of all the outside foot traffic on the beach.
6.) RETURNING TO SHIP: When we were ready to leave there was a taxi waiting to take us back, so that was reassuring. The drive is about 20 minutes from the port; give yourself plenty of time to get back.
I've been to Costa Maya a few times. I thought this place would be better than others based on the price. I was very disappointed in our experience, and I will not return to this location.

I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy your time with us and this things give us a background of how to improved but before that I want to clear some points that you mentioned
1.- We have a special arrangemt with the taxi, a day before the cruise dock to port, we give them the list of all our vips. That day you were the last one to disembark even when the cruise have been dock to port 2 hours before.
3.- We are a hotel and like a hotel we are we have beach club and restaurant not only for the vips but for all our guests, we did clarified you that the water was filtered but you acted like if we were in the middle of the jungle with no basic services and that actitud was difficult to please by the staff
5.- The beaches at Mexico are Federal zones that means they are public, we can't prohibit the walking from them, we are going to asked all the vendors not sell anything to you but also we can't control that. Also we remembered that you felt from the beach club to walked the Malecon (that cement street that you mentioned) to buy thing from them so its difficult to understand you point when even you buy things from them
6.- When you arrived at the Nacional I asked you the time you need to be there and I told you leave one hour before the embarking starts but you was late because you left from the Nacional and go shopping at town, also that we can't control because you were told about the time to arrived at port and you didn't listen to us.
But even all those thing we are going to improved and sometimes the nature is not our side

Amazing time. We stopped in Costa Maya on a cruise. We wanted to relax for the day and this delivered. Sharon was waiting for us to pay the taxi driver, took us to our beach side loungers already reserved for us, the small stretch of beach felt private and the water was so nice.
The service was amazing, always came a sound to check on us, we ordered the lobster, fajitas, ceviche (all included) and it was all so good. The drinks…also delicious, and all included too! Felt like royalty. And wait, the massage by the beach was the best one I’ve ever had (and I get a lot) and cheap.

Our experience was wonderful. Besides the traffic of vendors and smell of the fishy water they CAN NOT control, but we understand they are trying to make a living my family absolutely love the beach club. The food and drinks were delicious 😋. Their service was top tier and very attentive. We coming back. Oh yeah, please get the massage do not turn it down.

I booked this beach excursion based on a video I had seen on Tik Tok. At $135 per person, it is all inclusive, & a taxi van takes you to & from the club. The food, drinks, and staff were great. No complaints there. However, if you’re looking for a great beach to relax at, this is not it. First, the taxi ride over was scary. They had children sitting on laps of parents in the front seat, and asked a kind gentleman to sit on the floor. This should have been my first red flag. Once there, we saw that the pool water was green, & the ocean was brown & smelled disgusting. There were fishing boats constantly running behind the roped off swimming area for the guests. I never touched the water because it looked awful, brown, and dirty. There’s no way to relax because there are 500 local vendors (adults & little kids) hitting you up every 5 seconds. Sunglasses, jewelry, clothes..you name it. It was exhausting telling them “no thank you” for hours. We ended up leaving early because it was not what we wanted or expected. Super sad to have spent a lot of money on this day out, & it was a total let down. I wish it was refundable, but live and learn.

We are so sorry you did not enjoy your day with us.
There are not even 500 local vendors in town first off. I have been here for over 20 years and that is just an overstatement.
While we do not have seagrass on our beach the buoy system that the Mexican Marine Corps installed does tend to keep the seagrass from making it to the beach. Only negative is that if there is no current it tends to dissolve in the ocean water hence color and smell at times though never really an issue at our place!
Sorry you felt round trip transportation along with all the food and beverages you would like for the day on your personal lounger was overpriced.
You will need to try your luck somewhere else next time.

Would definitely go back. We had heard there may be a lot of seaweed on the beach but it ended up being just fine. Very clean as well.
Great time, highly recommend. We were there with 2 adults and 2 seventeen year olds, everyone enjoyed.
