Itinerary
Begin your day with early pickup from your downtown Chengdu hotel and travel by private, air-conditioned vehicle to Mount Qingcheng, one of China’s most important centers of Taoism. This lush, forested mountain is known for its peaceful atmosphere and even inspired the setting of the panda village in "Kung Fu Panda 3".
On arrival, ride an electric cart to the entrance before setting out to explore the mountain’s temples, pavilions, and scenic pathways. Make your way to Moon City Lake, then ride the cable car up to Shangqing Palace, one of Qingcheng’s most significant sites. Perched about 3,280 feet (1,000 meters) above sea level and dating back to the Jin Dynasty, this beautifully restored complex features serene halls and an ancient ginkgo tree.
Continue hiking to Laojun Pavilion, where, weather permitting, you can enjoy sweeping views over the city of Dujiangyan below. After descending by foot and cable car, stop for lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Qinyan Pavilion for panoramic views of the historic Dujiangyan Irrigation System.
Learn about this remarkable third-century BC engineering feat, the world’s oldest surviving non-dam irrigation system, which still channels water from the Min River to surrounding farmland. Continue to Erwang Temple, a grand wooden complex honoring the system’s creators, then walk across the Anlan Suspension Bridge to see two of Dujiangyan’s most important features: the Fish Mouth Weir and the Bottle-Neck Channel.
Stroll through Lidui Park and its elegant bonsai gardens before relaxing on the return drive to Chengdu, where your private tour concludes back at your hotel.

Both Mount Qinsheng and the Dujiangyan irrigation system are beautiful places teeming with history of taoism and chinese engineering, respectively. I highly recommend everyone visits those spots when in Chengdu. My guide, Amber, was very helpful and friendly. Her informative explanations about the history and meaning of visited places were crucial for satisfying my interest. I would highly recommend this experience.

I booked this for my parents and they enjoyed the tour. They were lucky with good weather and the tour guide brought them to a highly rated restaurant for lunch. The car was comfortable and spacious.

The tour guide Cassie was the best tour guide I have met. She explained the rich history behind the sites very well and my son was captivated by the intriguing stories. The driver was also very nice and helpful. Overall it felt like traveling with good friends instead of with a company. I would recommend this tour company to everyone.

All the best to you and your boy!

Our guide, Lucy, was very knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Lucy was very flexible with the itinerary and customised it according to our requests. Lucy also shared with us many tips and popular eateries we can consider in Chengdu.
Separately, the booking process was simple and Lily, the sales representative was responsive and informative. Highly recommend! Suitable for all types of travellers, family with elderly, family with young children, couple or even solo.

This was a great tour! Our guide Abby was very knowledgeable and was an amazing guide. We enjoyed the beautiful hike easy up Mount Qingcheng to the Taoist Temple. There were so many beautiful photo opportunities and Abby allowed us to move at our own pace. The Dujiangyan irrigation system was also another beautiful site. This was a FULL day tour with lunch- which was very good as well. Abby and Lily handled all the transportation and ticket arrangements so all we had to do was to sit back and relax and take in the wonderful sites.

First, my compliments to a very professional, knowledgeable and attentive guide Mia.
The Dujiangyan Irrigation project truly shows the intellect and engineering abilities of the builders. If the stunning visuals are not enough, the scope of the project should impress anyone. A photography buffs delight. Sadly, only limited physically challenged access assistance available.
The initial impression of the Mt. Qingcheng park is just as impressive as the visit. However, physically challenged access is limited to the base portion of the park and anyone who wants to visit the top needs to have great walking shoes, be willing to do some climbing, and have lots of energy for a lengthy effort.

This was a great introduction to the outer reaches of Chengdu! Cassie was a really wonderful tour guide and Fish provided good driving service as we drove out to Mount Quingcheng and Dujiangyan. Cassie and Fish kindly postponed my departure time, since I'd just flown in from California the night before, but I recommend sticking with the early departure time. We ended up stuck in both morning 1.5 hours and evening 2.5 hours rush hour traffic which was quite bad and I'm from San Francisco so I know bad traffic!. Besides the traffic, the tour agenda was just right. Seeing the World Heritage sites was fascinating, and Cassie provided a running commentary that was both informative and entertaining. The extra transportation at Mt. Qingcheng electric cart, boat, and aerial lift was helpful to someone experiencing jet lag and feeling the effects of elevation. We stopped at a very good neighborhood restaurant for lunch, and I got to see the kitchen and some of the cooking! Be prepared to eat with chopsticks! Then we toured the Dujiangyan irrigation system which is an amazing engineering and construction project still functioning since 200BC! We didn't have time to drive to the top most viewing spot, but walked all around the project area near the river level. I'll go to the overhead viewing spot if I ever go back, but the diorama set up in the Qinyan Pavilion gave a good overview of how the project was designed, as long as Cassie was there to translate the signs! I recommend this excursion for those that want to get out of downtown Chengdu and see some of the countryside.
