The water town was so peaceful & cute. The boat ride to the buddha was easy. Keep in mind that this booking does not include the option to hike up to the top of the buddha.
Great experience, our driver Mr. Liao was so sweet & helpful. We really enjoyed him & he made our whole day.

Unfortunately the visit to the Buddha was cancelled as rain had increased the swell on the water which is essential for the boat to the Buddha. I am really pleased as I found out that the Budda if you want to climb for for the best view contains a lot of steps which is not apparent in any prior details. The shops and especially the driver were excellent

The drive from Chengdu is about 2 hours but absolutely worth seeing the Giant Buddha. The Ancient Town is gorgeous, but it is July, too hot, vacation time in China, super busy, too crowded, too loud and too many kids playing in the water..... ended up not staying very long 😞

There is NO guide provided for this tour, it is only a car to the Buddah, and driver does not speak English. You can hire a guide for an additional 1,000yen. The guide we hired for 1,000 yen more was great though.

The driver was extremely approachable and friendly, always going above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable. He was very polite, professional, and attentive throughout the entire journey. His positive attitude and willingness to help made the experience even better. Highly recommended!

Our Le Shan Buddha and Huanglongxi Ancient Town day trip was made even more enjoyable thanks to Ms Yan’s exceptional service. She was incredibly thoughtful, even preparing water and fresh fruit for us for the road trip. It was such a lovely touch that made us feel genuinely cared for. Ms Yan was a safe, skilled, and pleasant driver throughout the day, and her flexibility and willingness to help (especially when traveling with my elderly father-in-law) made the entire experience seamless and stress-free. Highly recommend her service to anyone looking for a reliable and kind driver for a day tour!

Shi Jianhua was a great driver. We had a good time for the day. Quite a lot of distance to cover but both sites were very interesting.

My driver, Mr. Shu Xiao-Zhong, was fabulous! His service was top notch. The day proceeded very smoothly as he arrived at my hotel early (I was already in the lobby), helped me purchase my tickets to the Leshan Buddha, made a great restaurant recommendation, and guided me to the main street of Huanglongxi. He was caring, kind, and patient as we communicated through WeChat translation app. He was also very flexible with my drop off location once back in Chengdu. I appreciated his impeccable car, safe driving, and jovial nature. He also surprised me with some fresh sumo oranges which was a sweet touch! This was certainly a worry and hassle free way of getting to Leshan from Chengdu and was well worth spending the extra money for the private driver.

Dusk the driver was very attentive... he found a vegetarian place for us to eat. He also kept in touch with our friends driver so we could do the tour together.

This was a great tour, the driver was right on time and really friendly, he knew limited English but gave me a fact sheet and gave other helpful tips via a translator. The giant Buddha is incredible to behold

Excellent day tour. Our driver, Mr Liao, picked us up promptly and took us around in a very comfortable vehicle which was immaculately clean. He took us to a local restaurant for lunch where we enjoyed some delicious food. The Leshan Buddha is quite a sight and we bought tickets for the river boat trip which was well worth it. The Ancient Village is very interesting and an easy walk to see some lovely architecture. Highly recommend this tour.

The driver was very punctual and picked me up right on time at the hotel. The trip to Leshan and Huanglongxi Ancient Town was smooth and comfortable. What a wonderful day exploring the majestic Leshan Giant Buddha and the charming ancient town! Seeing the Giant Buddha up close from both the top and the river level was breathtaking, and the views were spectacular. We were extremely grateful for our excellent and professional driver, Shi Jianhua, who made the journey comfortable and safe. The visit to Huanglongxi Ancient Town was a delightful bonus, offering a lovely glimpse into local history and architecture. This tour is perfectly paced, highly recommended, and well-deserving rating.

I would highly recommend this experience. The drive was very comfortable and safe. The driver (whose name I didn't catch) was very professional and provided lots of water to quench my thirst. He is also very patient as I took a long time in Leshan Buddha Scenic area since I got a little bit lost while sightseeing. The areas visited don't really require a guide and there is a lot of signs in english, so this self-paced tour is a perfectly valid option.

We enjoyed this no pressure, private tour. The pickup was punctual, driving was safe. Our driver, Luo, did a good job taking us to everywhere we want. There was no pressure and we had lots of time to enjoy. The Buddha is massive, it’s incredible. Huanglongxi is beautiful, I can hang there all day, so much food and shops! Luo helped us get tickets, order food, communication was via translate and WeChat. He gave us a paper to read about the destination and it was very informative. He was very nice and he had a very friendly demeanor. Thank you for the kindness!

The trip is well coordinated from the time we booked all the way to drop off. Communication before the trip was relevant and timely. Our driver, Mr. Li Chao, was very helpful all day. He helped us with purchasing tickets, communicated with vendors on our behalf when needed, and made sure that the trip was at our own pace.
Destinations on this trip are a good combination of a UNESCO Heritage Site (Leshan Giant Buddha) and a well-restored ancient town, Huanglonxi. Both worth visiting for different reasons, which makes the day balanced and enjoyable. Overall, this is a great day trip from Chengdu.

We had a relaxing and enjoyable day with Mr Wang Tao as our driver/guide. Mr Wang was punctual , in fact early , patiently waited for us. His car was spotlessly clean. He was very careful and safe in his driving . Along the way to Leshan and on the way back , he told us lots of history about China and Chengdu , and various places of interest. We had such interesting conversations. When we got to Leshan he guided us to the ticket office and sorted out our tickets and guided us to the entrance to the boat ride. And he was waiting for us when we got back from the boat ride.
Lunch was very enjoyable . He suggested and helped us order our lunch.
After lunch he drove us to Huanglongxi ancient town. We walked leisurely for about an hour in the quaint little town.
We greatly enjoy our day trip with Mr Wang and would recommend him highly .

I only purchased transport to the sites. The driver Wang Ligen was very helpful, leading the way to the sites entrances and talking to staff to ensure out tickets and times were right. The car was spotless and we had plenty of water. Great option if you don't want to deal with large groups or public transport.

Our diver Shi Jianhua was a helpful driver! To be clear- this is not a tour and is a driver that takes you to these two great tourist destinations. That being said - Shi Jianhua was extremely helpful in making sure we got tickets for the river cruise to see the temple and walking us back from the cruises drop off point. He also took us to a great shop for noodles nearby after we saw the Buddha and took us to the ancient town.
His car also had water for us if we needed it and while he did not speak English it was easy to communicate with him through a translation app.

Both Leshan giant buddha and Huanglongxi are amazing places to visit. As these are places set out of Chengdu, it was definitely worth hiring a private tour especially as a first-time visitor in China. My guide did everything he could to make my trip comfortable and memorable.

It exceeded my expectations. In the descriptions it just said that he would drop me off and i got to explore myself. But Shi Jianhua ( the driver ) helped me with everything and was there to explain stuff if needed. He even helped me getting food in chinese and also helped me not to get foreigner prices. I highly recommend doing this activity with Shi Jianhua. I had great fun.
