Iris was a fantastic guide who spoke English very well. Most of the restaurants we stopped at were great and we certainly tried some very good Dan Dan Noodles and Tonshou. What let this tour down was the last restaurant we attended. The food was mediocre compared to our meals we ate on other tours. The evening finished in a very eclectic wine bar which we loved. One thing to point out is that the tour does not end at the meeting place as specified on Viator. The score of this review should not be seen as a reflection on the guide or her efforts, but rather on the quality of the food at a specific establishment and the tour not ending at the place specified.

We had the best time with Iris! One of our favorite food tours yet. Great mix of local foods, and the tuktuk was fun and memorable. Would recommend 1000x!

The guide Fiona was very communicative and friendly. She took the group to the best eating spots which extremely tasty. She also provided drink, including beers and some baijiu for those who wanted a taste. I would highly recommend booking this tour as you visit Chengdu since this city is known for its delicious food which you will be able to taste during this experience. You can also ask the guide for specific recommendations according to your taste.

I've done quite a few tours in China, and George has been the best guide I've had! He was so friendly and kind, and he gave us so much information about the food and the history of each dish. He was just great company throughout the night - very chatty, warm, and accommodating. The food was also amazing and the plum wine was lovely. Would 100% do this tour again in the future without hesitation.

Monica was amazing, she is a Chengdu local and took us to fantastic local unique places. My son is a very picky eater and tried everything. We were skeptical what we would be trying but everything was so good.

The tour was amazing. We tasted so many different dishes from Sichuan cuisine, and we got to know the history of each one. The pacing was great, not too much food at once. One special note to the idea of giving the leftover food as takeout packages to the tuk tuk drivers, let's us enjoy the amount we want and not feel guilty about food waste.
George was our guide and he did an awesome job at making us feel comfortable and welcome, going out of his way to provide impromptu food requests and to adjust spice levels for everyone. He also gave us recommendations for restaurants to try dishes not included in the tour that we were interested in, even from other regions of China. 10/10 would recommend.

The staff is super friendly. Use google translate to communicate and they are super patient- they will try their best to help you out. We wanted to check out a day early due to last minute plan change and they accommodated our request without any issue. We took a mountain view room and the view was amazing! The room is spacious and the breakfast provided by the hotel is great

Dishes were all pretty tasty. You can ask for not super spicy/mild. Chengdu is known for its spicy foods. Fiona, our tour guide was upbeat and fun.

I didnât know Chengdu was known for food (except hotpot) until I did this tour! The city has lots of dishes to eat from which we tried! Good variety of food and places to eat. Fiona and Monica were great guides, very enthusiastic and gave us lots of information. Really nice to finish off the tour in an old school bar, playing Mahjong and drinking plum wine! Would highly recommend!

We had a tour with George. He was great, he found us some amazing places to eat. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour that he planned. We were able to try things that we wouldnât have realised would be good to order. We were able to truly enjoy the local culture with a local. 10/10

This Tuktuk food tour was a fantastic way to experience Chengdu's amazing cuisine. We zipped around the city in a fun tuk-tuk, stopping at local eateries tourists wouldn't find on their own. The food was incredible, with a great mix of classic Sichuan dishes and some hidden surprises. Plus, our guide Fiona was super informative and friendly, sharing interesting tidbits about the city and its food culture. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic Chengdu food experience!

The Food on this tour was amazing. Our guide Fiona was so knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions and know her stuff about the food in Chengdu. We had some excellent food including Ma Po Tofu which was one of our favorites. The only down side I found to this tour was that the tuktuk was a little cramped and it was a bit uncomfortable getting from place to place but we had some very tall people in our group. However this did not take away from the amazing food we had and I would still recommend this tour to everyone. At the end of the evening Fiona took us for plum wine and even taught us how to play mahjong which was fun.

We always like to do a food tour in every single city that we visit to allow us to enjoy the city like locals. Lost Plate food tours was definitely the right choice for us! The meeting point was easy to find. Jaz was our guide and she was amazing from the start. She met us with a cold beer in hand, and after waiting for the other guests to arrive, we headed towards our Tuktuk to start our culinary adventure. Every single stop on this food tour provided us with more food than we could eat, along with so much knowledge about each location. Jaz made sure to explain what each item that we were eating was, and provided us the history of the items we were eating, most of the foods were items that she ate growing up. At the end of the night, we all sat around sharing stories of our travels and had a great time getting to know each other. This is when we learned that this was only Jaz's 6th tour! She could have easily fooled us with how knowledgeable she was. She even went a step beyond and showed us the way back to the metro to get back to our hotel at the end of the night since she was heading in the same direction anyways and it made our trip back to the metro super easy! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone considering an evening filled of delicious food and memorable experiences. Chengdu and Sichuan are known for food, but this tour was excellent beyond the food!

We came to Chengdu knowing we would find the best food in China, but this tour (and our guide Fiona) exceeded all expectations! We had so much food and of so great quality, we really cannot decide what was best. Fiona is an excellent, friendly and funny guide! I would definitely recommend!

Great food tour with Fiona. She was energetic and her English was excellent. She took us to so many local spots that we would never have found our own. The food was more than plentiful and delicious. Make sure you show up hungry. Would highly recommend!

The tour was well arranged. Our guide Daisy was great, very knowledgeable, helpful and spoke English very well. Not her fault but when I booked the tour well in advance I had said we were vegetarian. She only got the message just as the tour was about to start so food could not be planned for our dietary requirements which was a little disappointing. The food was interesting and we loved the Sichuan tacos. One of the restaurants was very noisy and lots of the customers were smoking. The bar at the end of the tour was a highlight for us.

Chino our guide is a real foodie and shared his knowledge of food which extended far over the local cuisine.
We ate great food and a lot of it...
It was also a sweet moment to talk english and meet others who do, since in this time there are practically no tourists in town.
