The tour included round trip transportation. There was a mixup with our pickup but that was quickly resolved with good customer service. Part one of the excursion was the visit to the Aviario. The experience is self-guided. You’re given about 2 hours to explore and we really enjoyed it. The second part of the tour was the beach. When you arrive, you go through a very busy area and then take a very small boat to the second, more private part of the island. The boat was not what we expected; very small and hard to get in and out of so if you’re traveling with anyone with mobility issues keep that in mind. The boat is small so expect to get wet and for it to be very rocky. Once we arrived, there were plastic chairs and tables that we could sit at for free, but if you wanted beach chairs and an umbrella you had to pay 50 pesos. I think that should be disclosed in the tour description so people are prepared. While this is a quieter part of the beach, the vendors were still relentless and annoying even after you told them no and these vendors were advertised as being a part of the excursion group. For example, even after saying no to the massage multiple times we were still touched against our wishes. We had a good time in the ocean but didn’t get much relaxation due to the constant pestering. The included lunch was a fish or chicken option with a non alcoholic drink which was good. The tour guide was friendly and translated for us (English). All in all, we enjoyed the bird watching but the beach component could be improved.

This was a very nice trip! Went to the aviary first, it was amazing! Some birds weren't in cages but wondered free among you. After that was playa Blanca. It was the more quiet part of the beach, we took a short boat trip over there. The guide was very helpful and told a lot about the region.

Great small group experience

One of the best tours I took with Viator! The itinerary is really rich: National aviary and the boat to island and lunch and beach and transportation. Guide Karina is really professional waiting you in lobby in the morning, good communication and English, really patient when going thru the aviary and explained about the birds, small group feel very much on our own pace, really good lunch with drink included, relax on beach until you are done. Highly recommend! Not related to this tour, but the roaming vendors on the beach a bit annoying and coming back to bug you until you buy something but you can bargain a lot!

During the tour the guide only directs you to the aviary and there is no accompaniment during this part. After that you are taken to white beach where you can choose what to do with your time or take a tour from there. I believe that for the value of transport and admission to the aviary this tour is not worth what it costs on this page
