The Aviary was beautiful. Unfortunately, we would not recommend the Viator tour. Communication with the tour company was complex. We spoke to multiple company contacts during the booking and confirmation process, each with different information, ie. pick-up location. All communication had to be re-confirmed multiple times in order to verify tour details. This was a poor use of valuable vacation time. The pick-up was 15 minutes late. Our guide was polite and somewhat informative, however a lot of the information that she shared was future tour upsell. For example, she shared videos on her phone of the aquarium. The ride to Baru and back was bumpy and uncomfortable. Understandable, given the poor road conditions, however it was bad enough that travellers should have been warned prior to booking. This transport would have been unsuitable for seniors. We were promised an English guide at the aviary who would go at our pace—answering questions as necessary. This did not happen. Overall, the tour experience was poor. Viator oversold the experience online. It did not match the actual experience at all. We could have done this tour on our own with better results. This tour was not good value.

We appreciate in advance that you have taken the time to notify us of your inconvenience. Reviewing the reservation we noticed that the tour you booked is in shared mode, that is why you did not have a private guide, this information comes out in the confirmation voucher of Viator. However, we will take the necessary steps to prevent this from happening again. We know that the road to Baru is not in the best condition, but we try as much as possible to make our drivers make the trip calm. We hope we can compensate you for the bad experience. Best regards.

Great tour... lacks some info.

The guides assistance was outstanding. The Aviary was gorgeous. The beach was fun to see. The stairs to access the beach are not really friendly. The information concerning the water transportation was not in the description. Impossible for an 82 year and a person with difficulty for walking. Anyways, Were we expected to hop into the water while wearing jeans?? There is no dock! So, the guide arrange beach seats and umbrella and had the meal delivered to us, which was fine. Another negative point because although the fish was delicious not everyone can eat it and there were really no other option nor they asked.
