Meet a driver at your hotel for departure between 11am and 12:30pm, depending on exact location, then begin the 82-mile (132-km) trip to Coba.

Upon arrival at the ruins, which sprawl through a lush jungle, join a local guide for a trip through ancient Maya history, riding a bicycle from site to site. The highlight of the Coba site is the remarkable Nohoch Mul pyramid, where you’ll climb to sweeping views across the surrounding forest.

Following your guided tour of Coba, choose between two afternoon activities: visit a Maya village for a pottery workshop, or opt for an adventure that combines a lagoon zipline and cenote swim.

When the sun sinks low over the Coba lagoon, watch the evening light at a water-side buffet restaurant, dining on chicken, pit-roasted cochinita pibil pork, and wine. As you enjoy the meal, watch a performance of Maya music, a reenactment of an ancient ball game, and a scene from the pre-Colombian Popol Vuh Maya text.

After dinner, begin the return trip to Cancun and the Riviera Maya, where this tour concludes with drop-off at the original departure point.
