What To Expect

Make your way to Xel-Ha aquatic theme park, located only 10 miles (15 kilometers) from Tulum, anytime during its opening hours of 8:30am and 6pm. In order to take advantage of the park’s numerous attractions, a full day at Xel-Ha is recommended.

On arrival, you’ll receive your all-inclusive wristband and a park map to help you navigate. Satisfy your appetite for adventure on the Salpichanga ziplines, the Floating Bridge, or during a bike ride through the Land of Huh.

Alternatively, relax during a river or snorkeling tour, splash in the refreshing water of the cenotes, or take a serene stroll around Chacahs’ Garden. Throughout the day, revitalize with cold drinks from an open bar while relaxing on one of many shaded hammocks.

When hunger strikes, feast on an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring dishes inspired by Mexican and international cuisine.

The Adrenaline ride was our favorite. We loved the all-inclusive food and drinks. We enjoyed the tall slide. All the staff was nice and accommodating. We would definitely come back.

A Good Time If New to the Water

Overall, my family had a lot of fun, but not sure if it is worth the cost spent to send 7 people there. Pro - The park is well done - organized with really good signage. It is organized and there did not seem to be long lines anywhere that we went except for the waterslide tower. We waited about 15-20 minutes there. Pro - Lot of activities and we definitely did not have any wasted time there. We could have stayed a few more hours and then might have done everything. Pro - The food was quick and there was plenty of seating even though the park was crowded. Lots of options for the pickiest of eaters. Con - If you have spent a lot of time around water and water parks - you are not going to be blown away by any of the activities. The snorkeling is fine, but only in the spots closest to rocks or the ocean. The ziplines and jumps are cool - but pretty average on the thrill scale. Con - the locker rooms/showers/changing rooms are sweltering. Get a fan in there or something. Con - the food is average at best. A bit expected for all you can eat buffet style, but for the money I expected a bit more.

There are so many parts to this park. You can do some of it or all of it. Expect to spend the whole day there. We watched the dolphins without having to pay for the experience to swim with them and it was still quite amazing to see them up close. The lazy river was fun, and you can stop on the way to do cliff jumps or zip lining into the water. The kids playground is so good. A nice big space, but contained with all sorts of different cool parts including a water slide. And then in general you can just go into the water anywhere and swim around and look at fish with a snorkel. Getting around and getting stuff we needed was so easy. There are life jackets all over the place so you can just take and leave as you go, or keep it with you the whole time. There are stations with towels and you can just keep going to get more wherever and whenever you need it. There are lockers to keep stuff in so you don't have to worry about it when you're in the water. Great day for kids all ages (we had kids ranging from 2-12).

This was an amazing day! The food is excellent, tubing down the river was a blast, and you stop all along the way to Cliff jump or zip line. That’s all that we did the whole day was take the tubes down once and eat. So definitely plan, its minimum 2 1/2 hours to get down the river. It was super relaxing and fun! We then fell asleep in the hammocks that they have an entire hammock section to top off the day. I wish we had time to swim in the Mayan cave, but I didn’t notice it until I saw the map on the way out. Definitely worth the money!

“Snorkeling” is for non-swimmers

Loved the park. It is definitely worth it! The food was good, the experiences were fun, and the photo package was worth it. The park is well organized. It’s all natural and you can see where the river and ocean meet. When we got there we went to the ticket counter and showed them our viator voucher, it was very smooth. We recommend water shoes and a phone water pouch. However the photos they park takes are also amazing if you don’t want to bring your phone in the water. Go, you will love it!

Came ro Mexico to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday and to celebrate her beating breast and brain cancer 2 different times! Her 1st trip out of the US. I booked this excursion and she loved it!we swam with the dolphins, snorkeling, swam enjoyed the water activities and did the fish therapy! Such beautiful place Definitely will come back and tell friends and family so much to do!

Great! Amazing park with so much to do. Great food. Highly recommend! Float the river, ride the bikes, snorkel, do the water slide. We did not pay for additional activities and didn’t feel the need to. Spent the entire day there and was sad to leave. Staff is very nice. Will do again!

Xel-ha was the highlight of our trip to the Tulum area. A bit more laid back than Xcaret, tubing down the river followed by snorkeling are the main activities. The water slide was not as fearful as it looks. There are several restaurants, so make sure you look around rather than just eating at the main one. We arrived early and there were no crowds until later in the day. Almost everything was included in the main price, with no hidden charges. By far a better deal than most American theme parks.

Not the xel-ha I remember. It seems the coral has died off and the fish were not as abundant as visiting years ago. The food was pretty bad.

What a great day!! Totally lived up to what it claimed. So so so much to do. The food was fine, not amazing but there was a lot to choose from so you cannot complain. The drinks were truly unlimited, and there was plenty to choose from. The activities were great. Rope swinging, slides, zipline, obstacle courses, etc. There are add ons you can pay for but we didn’t do those. Definitely a full day of activities so you leave tired. So glad we went

Absolutely amazing! Natural wonder that was tons of fun. This is a must do experience at some point in your travels- nothing like this anywhere else in the world. The food, the service, and the set up made the water park even more impeccable. They have a river float area, tons of open water to snorkel and swim in, and lots of random fun activities like little hidden caves and cliff jumps. The park has an intelligent design, which makes it easy to relax- for example, if you drop off belongings in the locker area at the start of the river float, they automatically take them for you to the end of the river float so you’re not running around wasting time finding your stuff. Signs also tell you how long walks are to the next bathroom. There are lockers and life jackets throughout the park so you never have to backtrack or worry about not grabbing something.

Sorry Xel-Ha, we had a great time there and the food was fantastic. The rating is for Viator not honoring their low price guarantee. I found numerous vendors, including the Xcaret website, which sold tickets for much less than Viator. Save money and don’t buy it on Viator

First time visiting Mexico. The park was big and had lots of great opportunities to explore and experience lots of water related activities. We had a great time! Food and beverage service was very good. I thought the price was very reasonable when compared to expensive theme parks. Making it all inclusive, kept everything easy, convenient and it was all well done. Staff was excellent!

Don't risk slide!!!!

The slide is not safe! And I warn other tourist. You can become very disoriented at bottom. You will not realize when it is end of slide and end up underwater flailing, not knowing where up is. A lifeguard had to pull me out as I was choking with water in my sinus. It is not about whether you can swim or not! This is dangerous and would never be allowed in states.

If you buy your ticket on line you have to wait in a line to get bracelets. The line was agonizing and slow. It took about a half an hour to get into the park.
