We had a fantastic snorkeling tour at the Puerto Morelos Reef today, and Fran was an excellent guide! He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the reef, pointing out vibrant corals, colorful fish, and even sea turtles. Fran made sure our group had a great time, keeping everything safe, fun, and well-paced for everyone—from beginners to pros. What impressed us most was his passion for reef protection. He shared eco-friendly tips, like avoiding contact with marine life, showing he truly cares about preserving this beautiful spot. Highly recommend Fran for an unforgettable experience!

Started a little sketchy when we were asked to shower per national park rules. But was ok. Guides were great. Equipment was ok. The boat was fine. Only complaint was the restaurant they took us too was terrible. Deep fried chicken tenders or fish tacos and both were horrible. Really they just walk you there to sell photo package from tour. There was tequila tasting when we returned to outfitter. I would have rather spent that time exploring the town and shops.

Fun experience but not exactly what we expected!

This was overall a great experience. Our family of four, with two children 10 and 13, had never been snorkeling before and had a blast. We saw the reef, many fish and huge turtles! The tour guides were informative and led the group through the reef and we felt that we had a lot of time in the water for first timers. Note: I have done catamaran snorkeling where you jump in and kind of look around, this is a full guided tour in the water so be prepared to swim a fair amount. Our kids are avid and strong swimmers, but this looked tough for a couple people in our group that were not the strongest swimmers, as it does require the physicality and dexterity to stay horizontal, keep your head in the water and propel yourself forward, following the person in front of you. One thing to warn is that they make you shower in your swim wear prior to taking you to the boat, to ensure that you do not have chemicals or sunscreen on the skin. Being pretty pale, we wore shirts to protect our shoulders etc, but as we are in the water horizontal a lot, all of the backs of our legs were pretty burnt, so I would recommend some leggings that are easy to swim in if this is a concern. They also will not allow you to bring anything on the boat, inclusive of towels, water bottles and to our disappointment, our underwater camera. They did take pictures and charge about $80 USD for them, but they were not the quality we had hoped for and unfortunately they missed our son in all underwater photos. The one thing that I felt should have been noted when booking, is that after the boating, they bring you back to change and get belongings before lunch, and get you to sit through a long seminar on tequila, offer tastings of a variety of kinds and then try to sell you on them. As a non drinker, this was a significant waste of my time, and my children were damp, uncomfortable and extremely bored throughout the process. I felt that there should be the option for people not interested to go explore the shops outside or the beach before meeting at the lunch location. This would have been especially nice as we had wanted to get pictures at the pier and some signage near the beach, which we walked by on the way to the boats, but since we were not allowed to bring our phones, we couldn’t get pictures there at all. Right after the tequila tasting, they take you on a brisk walk to lunch, bypassing all the little shops, so if you want to do any shopping or sightseeing of the area, you may want to consider booking something that gives you that freedom. The lunch location is on the beach and offers delicious tacos (chicken, fish or vegetarian), however there are absolutely no drinks included, so be prepared to purchase some there as they also will not let you drink from things you already have.

Everything is about money. Tour says 5 hours but in reality you are snorkeling for only an hour, the rest is about them selling you tequila and taking you to souvenir shops. You feel like youre in prison they have to go with you everywhere and cannot wonder to shop at your own leisure. This is totally a scam. They won't let you take your phone for photos. They say is not allowed, but everyone else in other tours will say is totally allowed, yet they do that so you would buy their photos which are fake. What you see in the photos is not what your eyes see.

The snorkeling portion lasts approximately 40–45 minutes, as indicated in the tour description. Following this, our guides lead guests through the tequila tasting, explaining the production process and how to identify authentic tequila. Prices are only mentioned at the end for those who wish to purchase, and this is entirely optional. Afterward, guests enjoy a snack at the restaurant and have some free time, with clear instructions on when to return for drop-off. Regarding cameras, the Government of Puerto Morelos requires permits for any electronic devices in the reef to prevent potential damage to the coral. For this reason, personal cameras and phones are not allowed while snorkeling. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope this helps clarify the structure of the tour.

Aside from operating on Mexican time, we had an amazing time. Our guides, Kevin and Kevin, were very gracious and kind. I had not snorkeled before and really enjoyed it until me equilibrium played tricks on me and my stomach got upset. One of the Kevins took charge, letting me hold on to the life ring, pulled me for the last few minutes. It was very kind. Overall we had a lovely time.

The reef was great, we saw several types of fish, as well as turtles, barracuda and sting rays. Our guide, Kevin, was really good about pointing out special things. Everyone was friendly. The reef is really shallow, so it felt safe, even for the younger swimmers. The only thing I would warn people of is that it didn’t feel super organized. There were several families on our trip and we all had different information about what to expect for this trip. Just expect that you will need to go with the flow.

Fantastic tour - snorkeling with a multitude of fish and sea creatures

We had a full crew on this tour including Jordan, Alberto, and Leonardo. The tour had a chill start as we waited for everyone to join - the tour was about an hour on the water with the guides pointing out special sea creatures along the way. They included a tequila tasting, which was optional, and for those who participated, was informational and not pushy. The lunch was at beachfront restaurant. Overall a great experience!

Very cool experience snorkeling, first time ever going and the guides were so helpful and patient. They took their time to show us where we could see lobsters, barracuda, and lots of other sea life! You can tell they genuinely enjoy and care about their work. No sunscreen is allowed so keep that in mind. Also we went over the allotted time when you factor in transportation so just keep in mind if you have dinner plans it will be about 5 hours, not 3. Would definitely recommend and do again!!

I give a 5 stars to the driver...but the attraction Was so’so..it was raining and windy undercurrant strong...so,difficult to swim.and few coral and few fish.we were supposed to make two stops’ but we made only one.However the personnel Was very kind and polite. The tequila and lunch Was excellent. It was nothing like the picture of the reef coral you annonce. But your orangisation is good.

Nothing special, just a quick run, big chatting regarding the protection of the coral 🪸, , which is fair.You are not allowed to take absolutely nothing with you, no camera, no watershoes, nothing. They will try to sell you the pictures for a exaggerating price, probably same as wedding pictures, If I know before I will never done it. Is someone other snorkeling tours much much better, no rush, plenty of time for swimming, can do your own pictures, not insisting so much of buying them one's if you don't are interested. Next day I actually done a different tour in Cozumel, best snorkeling tour I done it in Mexic. Tequila tasting is a joke. You taste something and when you get home and open the bottle which you buy it is totally different with what you drink at the place. I am a spirit drinker, I drink whisky and coniac all the time.The price is almost double for what you find in the shop.

Absolutely loved our snorkeling excursion! Kevin and Otto were amazing! Very friendly, took us to some awesome places. We saw so many fish! Just a note: BRING A RASH GUARD! They don’t allow any sunscreen because it’s a protected reef. They do have rash guards to purchase, but would save money if you brought your own.

We have taken other snorkeling trips, and usually they range from meh (nothing but grass) to... pretty good. But this trip brought us to a protected reef sanctuary, and it was stunningly beautiful in all directions. We saw a variety of wildlife and got right up close to pufferfish, rays (friendly) sharks and thousands of fish. A lot of the notes on Viator say "morning meal" or "lunch" but our trip didnt start until 2:00 so food after was more like a snack-sized dinner. Three (yummy) small tacos, no drinks. Also in between was a tequila tasting. Some people may feel uncomfortable if they don't drink or like its a sales pitch... which it is. Fortunately I was looking to bring some good tequila home and this was great tequila and they didnt pressure hard. One more major warning! Its a protected reef and they take this very seriously. The notes on Viator say reef-safe sunscreen is allowed BUT IT IS NOT. Wear a sleeved shirt and maybe a hat because youll burn out there with no sunscreen.

Don’t do it - terrible!

Van arrived 20 minutes late. Told us they would only wait five minutes for us but made us wait over 20 minutes at two additional stops and it took longer to get there than we spent in the ocean. Also, we were told it started at 9 o’clock and it didn’t start till after 10 o’clock. We were told we would be in the ocean for one hour to one hour and 20 minutes and we were in the ocean for only 45 minutes. Reef was nothing like the pictures they show you. The reefs in Belize and Hawaii are amazing but this one was dreary. and staff spent more time talking than guiding us. They then harassed us for a tip at the end. Not worth the money!

What an awesome experience. Pick up from our resort was on time. Arrived at the venue to be greeted by friendly young men and women. We had to shower (dressed) to remove any contaminants such as sun screen. We then sat for a very informative safety presentation. Once we were set we set off for the experience. We boarded a boat which appeared well maintained. The tour leaders then had us don life jackets. We were then instructed how to put on our flippers, masks and snorkel. We then arrived to our snorkeling spot. To me it seemed like we were a mile off shore but likely not. We then entered the water and the wonderful experience began. We saw many beautiful schools of colorful fish, a puffer fish, nurse shark and the beautiful coral reef. It was beautiful to behold. We then returned to the boat and dry land. We then had delicious tacos for lunch (included) as well as tequila tasting. As well there was tequila available for purchase. The tour guides were awesome and were always concerned with safety. Special shout out to Kevin who helped me out when I got tired. Don’t miss this experience!

Best snorkeling adventure ever

Our transportation showed up on time and took us straight to the location. Was greeted and checked in smoothly. Was briefed on rules of being in national park and etc. Mike and his team were incredible. All of the staff and team members were beyond wonderful. It was my wife and I with our 4 kids ranging from 12-18. All had an incredible time. The lunch was at a beautiful beachside grille with incredible staff and scenery. We had either three fish or chicken tacos and they were off the charts. Could buy drinks and others if you wanted. Mike and his team took us out on the water and we spend what felt like more than an hour and trust me, that was plenty of time. Anymore would have been exhausting. We had a little bit of time after lunch before pick up so Mike walked us around to shop a little and show us their wonderful town. I would recommend this to everyone. 1 million stars if possible

All of the guides were great and made the experience wonderful! I had no previous snorkeling experience and they were very helpful. Photos were well done and offered for around $50 usd at the end of the trip! There were no surprise costs and the operators helped us find the location of the start of tour through WhatsApp when we had trouble locating the building.

Quick boat ride out to the reef. There were two guides with underwater cameras that took amazing pictures. Yes, I bought the personalized photo package. We snorkeled for almost a hour (I had my own gear). Back at the shop afterwards was a tequila tasting experience where I bought two bottles of very good tequila. Lunch was amazing, too. Enjoyable four hours.

The actual snorkel part was great with the tour guides - the transportation was a mess - the bus was late 15 minutes picking up and over 45-60 minutes to get brought back to the hotel zone. Overall we were gone from 8:15am until 3:30pm when the experience was supposed to be significantly less time. If you have a whole day to waste then this is worth it. Don’t count on them being on time.

“Mike” and the team was great. We loved our pictures. My favourite was the midnight blue parrot fish and the yellow ray. Tequila education was appreciative and the tacos were great. All in all, we loved every minute of it and would do it again

Mike and everyone at adventure travel is wonderful! He is a great snorkel guide, Very personable and fun and had everyone's safety in mind. Our van pick up was 50 minutes Late, There could have been better communication about that, But that's not really a reflection of Adventure Travel. I would definitely do this again and recommend it to friends.

Good snorkel trip w/ lunch - bad transportation to/from adventure

Snorkeling was good. Guides were helpful and friendly. Lunch afterwards was good. The only complaint we had was the extra time for hotel pickup/drop off and getting ready for the snorkeling. We were picked up at 8:10am from our hotel. We got in the water around 10am for about an hour and a half. Finished lunch around 12:30pm and was told our shuttle back to the hotel wouldn't pick us up until 2:30pm (which meant with all of the other guest drop offs we wouldn't get back until 4pm). We took an Uber back to the hotel to save a couple of hours of our day.
