If your pickup is in Cancun you're looking at spending 8 to 9 hours in the bus getting to and from Hol Box!!
I signed up for this tour on the Viator website. It was described as a tour of Hol Box with transportation provided from Cancun. They did not mention they would be also driving to Playa del Carmen (which is the completely wrong direction) to pick up other customers. The end result is you end up spending total of 9 hours in the bus and only 4.5 hours on Hol Box..... They picked me up at 6:10 a.m. And got me back to my hotel at 9:50 p.m...... it's painful.
That said,Hol Box is beautiful , the tour guides Omar and Adrian were great. The bus is clean and comfortable, but it should have only been a four and a half to 5 hour trip in the bus, not 9 hours!!
I definitely cannot recommend this tour if you are being picked up from Cancun - unless you really,really like riding in buses.

For any readers,
Playa del Carmen is on the way in the federal paid highway which is faster than the free highway
Those times are impossible, in transportation time there are 3 hours each way and the rest of the time is spent at locations or activities (7 hours)
This traveler claimed to have enjoy both the guides and Holbox itself, this review only describes false transportation times
