Poor Communication Led to a Missed Excursion

I booked three excursions with different travel agencies, and this was the only one with poor customer service. Communication before the trip focused primarily on securing payment. On the day of the excursion, there was no call or text to confirm the meeting point, arrival, or departure. But plenty afterwards to let us know we missed the excursion pick up. In contrast, the other agencies proactively confirmed logistics, checked in, and notified us when en route or when they arrived. One company explicitly stated, “Keep your phone handy for messages or calls. We’ll assist you until you’re on board.” This level of communication and support was completely absent from this agency. They provided incorrect meeting information, failed to communicate on the day of the trip, left without us, and did not provide any information regarding rescheduling or refund policies in the event of a missed pickup. Compared to the other agencies, the lack of communication and transparency felt unprofessional and concerning.

The meeting point and pick-up time were provided in advance through Viator’s contact center service, along with a phone number so you could reach us directly in case of any questions. Unfortunately, you arrived one hour later than the scheduled pick-up time, and it was not possible for us to contact you at that moment. Although it was not our responsibility that you did not arrive on time, we still issued a full refund as a gesture of goodwill
