This is a great tour! Our tour guide, Cesar, was phenomenal, and everything was very organized. Our kids (12yo/18yo) loved this! Chichen Itza is breathtaking and fascinating. Cesar did a great job of educating us on the culture and providing context for things. The trip also starts out with a visit to the local Mayan community for some additional education and souvenirs. The visit to the cenotes was a nice refresh from the heat. However, a few things to note: 1) It is a VERY long day. We thought we would be back for dinner reservations at our resort by 7:30, but we did not make it back until 8:30 or 9. We left our resort at 6:30 am! 2) There are hidden fees. The entry fee for Chichen Itza is NOT included and is about $45/adult. Our 12yo got in free. It's possible there are other tours where it is included, but we were not aware that it was not included on this one. 3) The lunch is at the cenotes (not until about 1:30 or 2 in the afternoon - we were starving), and no drinks were included. They said they were when we got off the bus, but we never found any included drinks. They kept trying to sell us drinks. That said, the food was pretty good, and the cenotes experience was amazing! Also, side note - we had food allergies in our party, and we were able to successfully communicate and find enough things to eat. 4) You only get about 30 minutes in the town, which is only enough time to visit 2-3 shops and/or purchase souvenirs. The people in the town are very friendly and appreciative of your patronage, though, so time and money well spent. This is the last thing you do.
