Treat yourself to a cultural extravaganza as the famous Rajkó Folk Ensemble puts on a 1-hour performance of traditional music, dance, and costumes.
Hungary is a country known for the art of folk dancing. It boasts its own college dedicated to the study of folk dances, and you can see this expertise firsthand during a 1-hour folk performance. You will witness a varied repertoire of music and dance by the Rajkó Folk Ensemble.
The show consists of two halves of 30 minutes, with a break for intermission.
Founded in 1950, the Rajkó Folk Ensemble’s members have been dedicated to staging authentic Hungarian folk dances and preserving Hungarian folk traditions as a professional folk ensemble for more than 70 years.

We enjoyed the experience. Signs on walls had some interesting facts about local foods drinks and customs. The servers were friendly and the space was like a wine cellar . The music two violins and base was very nice and the musicians had fun playing. The dancers, two couples were energetic and engaging and close up. They danced maybe 6-8 dances in two sets with one costume change. We enjoyed getting to balance wine bottle on our heads for pictures. We had goulash with our tickets but you are also able to order off the menu so we got dessert too!

I was informed this would be in a theater with many dancers on stage and more musicians. Instead , it was a cabaret setting with 2 couples doing a few dances and a 3 musicians. The music was partly Hungarian but mostly not.
The music and dancing were fine, but not what was advertised.
It would not have been so disappointing if we had known what to expect. False advertising

Interesting excursion. Train ride to see some of the countryside and arrived at a charming and older town. Lots of sights and food, beverage and shopping options. Rudi our guide was well informed about Hungary and the town and very accommodating to our walking limits. Loved the day!

This show features talented dancers and (in my opinion) even more talented musicians. The show is fairly short (roughly 90 minutes) so I recommend seeing if you can fit it into your schedule. The music, dancing, and outfits will definitely make you feel as though you're in a different era. The only recommendation I have for the show is to have a pamphlet or something that explains what you're seeing and exactly when/where it's from.
There are plenty of restaurants immediately next to the theater and we found the area safe and well-lit. You can also pay a bit extra and take advantage of the taxi pickup/drop-off option to your hotel. Regardless, we found the theater nice and the show highly entertaining.

An absolutely amazing performance from the musicians and dancers. It was very lively the whole time and I felt like I learnt a lot from watching the performance about traditional Hungarian culture.
The only issue I had were some guests were inconsiderate and standing up in front of people to get pictures of the performance. Luckily it was just briefly, but it was a bit selfish and if they wanted a better view they should have paid more money for better seats like we had done.

My friend and I were so pleased that we booked this experience! Having never been to Hungary before, we wanted to plan several events in advance that would be a good reflection of the Hungarian culture. The dancing and musicianship were excellent and the venue was easy to locate and gorgeous inside.

Good folkloric presentation, male dancers and musicians were very good. We had a good outing. We booked with hotel pick up and drop off but the hotel was only few minutes away.

Building a little run down and even though we purchased the most expensive seating, we were put on the 7th row. And row 1 to 6 was not fully occupied.
The dancers performed very enthusiastically and all evenly.
It gives you a good taste of Hungarian Folklore Dance.
There was no program or a write up of what each dance depicted.

Theater was half empty. Dancing was excellent. Performance would have been greatly improved if there were a master of ceremonies, announcing the different dances and giving commentary on where they originated and introducing to the dancers and musicians.

Very nice show. I experienced a number of authentic Hungarian dances. Also music was nice and original. Transportation from hotel to show venue and back was seamless and professional. Ticketing and seating were efficient. In less than 2 minutes from reaching the venue, we were on our seats.

We opted for the premium tickets which guaranteed front row seating and a hotel pick up and drop. We got everything that was promised and more. Right up in front, in the middle of the second row we sat, while we were entertained by pulsating performances by Hungary's premier dance troupes and accompanying musicians. The dresses worn by the performers and their professional adeptness had the audience spellbound. If you like cultural performances and are open to new experiences, this is definitely an activity you should consider!

We went to this show and had dinner on the Danube several years ago and what I remembered was a great show with great musicians so I booked our group of five couples early this month. I believe the dancers worked very hard and at first the performance was enjoyable, but then the musicians tempo and pitch became unbearable not to mention the young ladies attempt to sing. The musicians did not look like they were having any fun at all. I did like the stick dance very much. I hate to give such low remarks but everyone in our group did not want to stay past the first half so we left. I am sorry again for a bad review, but it is sincere. We did not do the dinner this time because we had been on a boat for the last seven days. My review is simply the show.

This was a very nice and very interesting show. The only thing I didn't like about it was that they did not allow pictures To be taken. They also leave people to find their own seats, and as the aisle numbers are a little confusing, people end up sitting in the wrong seats and causing confusion for everyone involved. Besides those minor things, we enjoyed the show and the experience.

This performance was a highlight of my trip to Budapest. The dance troupe was highly professional, and the male dancers, in particular, amazed us with their athletics and stamina. Costumes and music added to the visual and auditory effects. The dancers used their shoes as percussion instruments, much as flamenco artists do. Wonderful!!!

Within the context of of Hungarian Folk Dances, the troupe performed as expected, with no really outstanding dancing to speak of. The live music was

It was a well polished show and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The dancers put so much into the show and we certainly enjoyed it.

Enjoyed the performance very much. It was very entertaining and the venue was great. Definitely worth the price. We stopped by the venue earlier in the day and exchanged the voucher for an actual ticket which avoided waiting in line immediately before the performance. I thought the booking with Viator was confusing about whether transportation from the hotel was included or not, otherwise would have given it 5 stars. I selected the booking without transportation but it still implied that transportation was included.
