As a fan of old school Dracula travelling through the Carpathian Moutaina and walking Bran Castle was an absolute dream
(Spoiler I know Bram Stoker was never actually there and neither was Vlad Tepes. But the pure inspiration!) Definitely recommend this tour.

This is a must do when visiting Romania . Our guide Otilia was very knowledgeable and entertaining . The trip was well organized .

This was a group booking for 16 made via the Viator telephone line as I was only able to book 8 on line. I received an email with 2 bookings for 8 I again contacted Viator who confirmed this was a group booking for 16. We duly booked a hotel near the pick up point (Zeus Central 300 meters from pick up) and travelled from the UK for this specific tour scheduled for Friday 6th March 07.00 hrs. We arrived at the venue at 06.45hrs to establish that we were not booked on any of the buses at the location however the municipal transport officer told us one bus had left early. There were several other small groups at the venue in a similar position to ourselves. We were unable to get any information from the tour guides and returned to the hotel and even with the exceptional assistance from the hotel reception were un able to contact the operator. I returned to my room checked my email to find an email from Viator in my spam timed 19.33hrs Thursday 5th March cancelling one booking of 8 people and offering a refund of that booking of 8 only. This cancellation was made less than 12hrs before booked trip and we were already in country as a group of 16. I contacted Viator requesting a full refund as this was for 16 not 8 they have declined. If i had cancelled less than 24 hrs I would have lost all the groups (16) payments. Very I will continue to attempt get my money back
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Dear Traveller,
We have sent you an email and asked you if you had 2 different bookings since they both were on only one name and without sending us all the names of all the participants.
It is common to receive frauds like this and ask for chargeback stating that it was booked twice for error.
Viator policy is to cancel those bookings to avoid this type of frauds as it happened in the past.
You haven't replied to our email and for this reason one of the bookings has been cancelled and you have received a full refund.
You have received as well also an email with the tourguide name, plates of the bus and all the other details. All you had to do is to read this information that it has been reported even on your voucher and on the initial booking email.
We will also invesigate further since you had a very agressive behaviour toward our staff and you have blocked one of the buses.

Peles castle was nice to look around, it was about an hour waiting to get in and this is off season.
Brasov is a beautiful town and definitely worth a visit, we picked up delicious focaccia and handmade pottery
Bran castle has leant more into Dracula and less into Queen Marie, leaving a gimmicky feeling and very chaotic.
The tour buses also seemed to arrive at the same place at the same time instead of staggered arrival, so prepare to queue!
Adrian was a friendly tour guide albeit quiet at some points, but a fun guide, especially his take on why he & Dracula aren’t allowed together! we also didn’t do the other drive by spots if we did they weren’t mentioned, but Adrian point out Wednesdays filming location on the drive due to the slow traffic.

The tour started 44 minutes late because the driver did not have some documents. The microphone did not work and they stoped the bus to fix it. So the tour did take 12 hours. As other noted, the guide collected 60 euros for entrance fees to the castles, which everyone paid. But one could certainly buy tickets at the gates cheaply, as there was no one in the ticket lines. Peles Castle is more interesting. I would suggest an overnight stay in Brasov, which is a very nice town. If I did not book a nonrefundable hotel room in Bucharest, I would do an independent trip to see all these places.

It is well worth doing and very informative
Beautiful scenery the driver and tour guide were excellent
Tom_G, Feb 2026
The day itself was excellent. You get time to see 2 very different castles and also time to walk around Brasov.
The communication from the tour operator (Trip2ro) was really poor. They don't respond to any queries you may have or provide all the necessary information about the trip.

I took a part in a trip on 14.02. While the bus ride was nice the tour guide and the whole experience was not. My tour guide was Laura. Already at the beginning she seemed to be lost and I thought that it was her first time being a tour guide. She could not control the group and was speaking very quietly with a so-so English. The guid offers you to purchase the tickets to the castes but it’s a total waste of money. For example they want to sell you a ticket to Peles Castle for 30euros while you can book the ticket on your on on the castes website for 5euros! You just have to think ahead of time and book the tickets. The guide was not able to answer questions about the schedule of the trip and she even changed the course of the trip at the begging of it (we were supposed to go to Peles Castle first, but we went to Bran instead). The Bran Castle is small and it’s a tourist trap, you don’t need to spend money to go there. Spoiler alert - no vampires have lived there. In Brasov you have only about and hour and a half and you have to eat a lunch there so there is not much time to sightsee left. Peles Castle is worth seeing inside. The guide will give you a tour inside the palace but Laura was speaking very quietly for about 4 people (the rest of us were not able to fit in a small room with her). I recommend skipping the guided tour and go forward and read the information on the plaques in each room. The guide will tell you the same information but in chaos. Overall if you want to spend a lot of time in a bus and spend about 1.5 hour in each place I recommend the trip but honestly I have no idea why it has such good opinions.
Luis_C, Feb 2026
The sights and guide was great. The bus was kind of broken down. The side we sat on had a broken window so the ride was mostly fogged up. And when it wasn’t the windows were dirty. The guide was insightful and had good energy. Bran castle is kind of boring.
Nathan_J, Feb 2026
Entry to the two castles not included in the price. You can pay cash on the bus and the guide will purchase the tickets, or you can buy the tickets over the internet while you are on the bus (the castles are timed entry so you should wait until you're on the bus before you buy the tickets). The castles were impressive and the short stop in Brasov was delightful. We had a Romanian lunch - everything was so delicious - especially the Bulz (polenta) with sausage and cheese. Laura, our tour guide, was great. It's difficult to keep a big group together but she did well despite the normal challenges that crop up invariably on these types of all-day tours. Definitely whetted our appetite to explore more of Romania. Our bus had an electrical outlet to charge our phones.
Grazia_P, Feb 2026
We have booked the reservation for the Castle with a tour guide but he/she did not waited for us in the morning. Luckily we met at the same bus stop Elena, another tour guide from viator who kindly accepted us on her bus and for her tour guide. We loved how Elena explained us all the main attractions, in a very interesting way. She captured our attention and we loved the experience thanks to her.
The trip was very well-organized.

Its a long day travelling but you do get to see a lot more of Romania outside Bucharest. Last minute email the night before advised us to be at meeting point 30 mins earlier than previously stated so our coach left at 6.50am.We got back at 9pm. Our tour guide Adrian was very good and handled the purchase of all castle entry tickets on board...we could also pay by card which was a bonus. Trip to Bran Castle did not include torture chamber or Time Tunnel. Be prepared for lots of guided tours going on at both castles...with space very much a premium at Bran Castle. Excellent guided tour of ground floor of Peles Castle with Adrian, self guide on 1st floor due to limited space for big group. (50 in ours) Good recommendations for lunch in Brasov...we didn't need the packed lunch the last minute email advised we bring. Coach was ok although one of our seats was broken and we had to wait for a replacement coach at Bran as our coach broke down but this was outside anyones control and was efficiently sorted within 30 mins. Plenty to do and see in Brasov

Definately book to go on this tour, our tour guide Vladlut was very knowledgeable, kind and patient with a lovely warm personality, our driver was very good and made sure he took us to all 3 sites and back safe and sound. We both loved every single minute of the day and all 3 trips too and the weather was absolutely perfect for the environment. I am definately going to do this trip again. I’m so glad I did this day trip and we loved both castles and the visit to brasov too where we had enough time to have lunch and try out their local food too . Many thanks Nabeela and Shahram
Saikat_C, Jan 2026
The guided tour was informative & interesting. Laura shared many facts throughout the tour, especially about the castles and Brașov.
However, the time allocated for Bran Castle was quite limited (around 1 hr 40 min). Since the castle is located on a hill & requires walking uphill, this felt insufficient—especially due to the snow, which made the paths slippery. It took extra time just to reach the castle and come back down.
There were also several exhibitions inside the castle that we were unable to see & couldnt explore the Bran town market, as we had to return to the bus by a fixed time.
The tour spent significantly more time at Peleș Castle, reportedly due to long queues. While this is understandable, the time distribution between the two castles could have been better balanced rather than reducing time at Bran Castle.
There was also a serious concern when two passengers were left behind in Bran. The headcount was done only after the bus had already departed the stop, instead of while everyone was still boarding. Unfortunately, neither the guide nor the driver expressed much concern or apology regarding this situation.
Additionally, the driver was somewhat rude and frequently turned around to chat while driving, which felt unsafe.
Overall, the tour was okay in terms of information provided, but improvements in time management, passenger safety, and professionalism would make the experience much better
Tina_N, Jan 2026
Overall, the tour was average good. At the beginning the tour guide kept informing us about the different options in the schedule and spent a lot of time going back and forth on where the group will meet or start. As a customer, the decision should already be made, just tell us where to meet at a certain time; things may change but it makes it sound like they are disorganized when he keeps changing things.
Peles Castle was the highlight of the tour. Although it doesn't make sense for such a major attraction there are not enough bathrooms at the place. It felt like we didnt have enough time to after that tour to use the bathroom because we had to leave. We ended using the men's bathroom because the line was shorter.
Brasov was okay, again with the recommended restaurants, we only had time to eat and leave and not really see the town square.
Brans castle wasn't worth going and very dangerous when it snows. The path leading to the castle was crazy slippery and dangerous. People were crying and terrified of the pathway. We weren't warned ahead of time or anything. I think for something so dangerous, the tour operator or someone should mention if people who have bad knees/ankles/hips, people who find it difficult to walk up an incline should reconsider attempting to get to the castle. Or to wear good shoes with grips. Warn us that it's wet with black ice or something. After I stepped down from the last step in the castle, an elderly man slipped and took a hard hit on the ground, I just heard a loud thud.
Evangelia_T, Jan 2026
Our tour guide Sonia throughout the tour was rude, sarcastic with everyone, insulting and not that friendly. She took anything we didn't like personally and stopped talking to us. Her behavior was unprofessional and she constantly shouted
Elinor_W, Dec 2025
This was a great tour, Vladut was a very good tour guide and gave a good account of each stop and the history. My only frustration was a lack of time at Bran Castle. We queued for 40 mins in the fast track line and only had 20 mins inside before we needed to be back at the coach. Given its the main event and cost c.£27 per ticket it was incredibly disappointing. That said a good tour just more time needed at the main attraction.
emma_m, Dec 2025
Its a whole day trip that 1st peles castle, Brasov where we had lunch, then Bran Castle. Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable about history and it was very informative. We left arpund 7 10am and was back in the city by 9.30pm. considering there was traffic in some part of the trip because it was Xmas holiday. But we would say we're glad we did this tour! Recommended.
Son_N, Dec 2025
It is quite a rush trip due to traffic more than anything.
In exchange we have a very good guide, Mihai.
Learnt a lot by his way like a story teller
Neil_M, Dec 2025
This is an excellent trip - Long but rewarding. Early start and 13 hours in total to complete but you get to see the amazing sights and sounds of Transylvania.
AldreanKent_V, Dec 2025
We had a very wonderful experience with our knowledgeable tour guide. He is simply the best. I learn a lot about Dracula's history.
bongdeocampo919, Nov 2025
Although there was no real commentary when we would visit the actual sights, there was some history shared while on the bus on the way to each sight. We got to see some beautiful highlights and we were free to roam at our pace for as long as we were back on the bus at a specified time. We enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anyone.
Liz_M, Nov 2025
Long but good day. Florin was our guide and he was very kind, informative, and best of all—VERY punctual, there’s no room in the schedule to run late! We got great instructions about where to meet the bus, what time we were leaving from each stop, and recommendations at every stop.
Florin got us to peles castle early and we were one of the first buses to arrive, so it wasn’t super crowded. Then, we spent 2 hours in Brasov, which was so beautiful and had great lunch options. After lunch & on the way to Bran Castle, Florin gave wonderful information all along the route.
At the beginning of the day, Florin was able to estimate our arrival time to Bran Castle —then I was able to buy tickets online & get through the castle + the village in the nearly 2 hours we spent there. The only con of the whole day was that the bus was soooo warm — there was no airflow at all :(
Laura_C, Nov 2025
It wasn't a good day, tourguide late and no apologies- bus driver started letting us on and she blamed him for hold up ans he didnt know procedure. He knew to be on time. Told wouldn't have time to use toilets at Castle so used road side gas station beforehand. Practically had ro run to keep up to get to castle told wouldn't have any spare time and had to be on time or else left behind, races through Castle and then told had 45 minutes of free time once out of Castle??? Would have loved more.time IN Castle.
Onto Braslov where once again races to stay with tour guide- couldn't hear anything she was saying as big group and no microphone- same as in Castle. Unfortunately I tripped and fell trying to catch up, I was hurt, luckily not too bad. We get back on bus and tour guide comes back and really doesnt ask if im.ok just that since i wasnt at restaurant she told us all to check.out i must have been ok...and says in loud voice im first person in 2 years to get hurt...well that's great. Then gets on microphone and tells everyone that in Romania its lucky when someone trips means they will marry
Then later lectures.bus on eating healthy and not being out of shape and heavy as can trip and get hurt. Guess whose heavy? This tourist.
Seriously add.insult to injury- from the heavy smoking tour guide no less.
We did cover a lot.of ground but tour too long with too much time on bus, constantly being told we had to hurry and then having free.time.
She asked we all give a review but only if its a good one
Sorry Sonia its not a good one but it's an honest one
Nell_P, Nov 2025
This tour was very interesting as we got to see Peles Short Castle, the medieval town of Brasov and Dracula’s Castle all in one day. Our tour guide Vlad was very knowledgeable, informative, and accomodating. We liked the fact that we had time for a delicious meal and then still had time for souvenir shopping. We highly recommend Vlad and this tour.
Dominic_H, Oct 2025
Terrible, was at the departure point 30 mins earlier and the bus never arrived. Checked with every guide and nobody had our name on their list. Waited around 2 hours before accepting it wasn’t going to happen
firthclaire, Oct 2025
long day so be prepared. Excellent tour, Otilla was very informative. Scenery on way there is lovely
George_C, Oct 2025
Amazing experience worth the money and def buy the tourisrt pack. Guide Mattea was very good. Everything super organise be prepared for a long day
Sarah_R, Oct 2025
Tour guide was very threatening with all instructions ( we will leave without you; you will be fined if your bag is too big; stop talking loudly). He got into a shouting match with an angry Spanish customer on board. He claimed to not be able to offer any help with ordering tickets online.
When getting off the bus places, he didn’t help orient you to the area so that you could easily find your way back to the bus so as to not be late.
You were not able to change seats, even if your group was split up on the bus.
He had QR codes of information on his phone that should have been sent out with the bus tickets in advance as he could not pass his phone around the bus to 99 people.
His information was very informative, but only available in English which I think was misleading because he is multi-lingual, but did not provide all of the information in Spanish/Italian/French, etc.
The driver was not friendly at all, even with pleasantries such as hi/hello.
It was a good value for the bus ride, the stops and the information, but compared to all of the other tours I have taken, the personalities get a 1 star.
SERENA_G, Oct 2025
Great experience to see Peles and Bran Castle with Adrians group. Good transport but a really long day. Would have preferred not to do Brasov and focus more time in Brans Castle area - felt too rushed for lunch and bus ride is long with no AC - felt nauseous.
Overall was a good day trip but be prepared for loads of crowds and pushiness which detracts from the visit at times.
