What are people saying about Chisinau

Not a tour, but a unique experience
If you get the chance to take this tour, do not hesitate for a second. Our guide picked us up in the morning and what followed was one of the most memorable days of our entire trip. Yes, you get the standard Tiraspol tour — the Soviet monuments, the Sheriff superstore, the unrecognised currency, the checkpoints — but what sets this experience apart is the depth of knowledge and genuine passion he brought to every single moment. He covered the history of Transnistria with remarkable nuance: the totalitarian legacy, the mentality shaped by decades of isolation, the painful realities of poverty, and the complex question of what EU integration might mean for people here. But what truly distinguished him as a guide was his approach. He never lectured. He would point things out and let you draw your own conclusions. He didn't tell us "people here are sad" or "people here are unhappy." Instead, at the end of the day he simply said: "Pay attention to how many people smiled at you today." That one quiet observation said more than any lecture ever could. But the highlight came on the way back, when he took us off the beaten path entirely — winding through remote villages where time seems to have stopped. Abandoned houses, crumbling factories, roads that barely deserve the name. And in each village, he pointed out what he called the Soviet-era trilogy: the World War II monument honouring the victims and the victory over Nazism, the House of Culture where ideology was spread and community life was controlled, and the Lenin statue — because no Soviet village, however small, was complete without one. You could see his eyes light up hunting for these traces of a vanished world. It felt like travelling with a dedicated archaeologist of communism. He was attentive to our needs throughout, accommodating every special request without hesitation. The tour ran more than two hours over schedule — not because anything went wrong, but because there was always one more thing worth seeing, one more thought worth provoking. By the end he was clearly exhausted, having given absolutely everything. But he was also, unmistakably, happy. This is not a tour. It is an experience that will stay with you. Highest possible recommendation.

Fantastic Tour Experience in Chișinău
I had a wonderful experience on this tour. Mihai was incredibly kind and knowledgeable — he shared a lot of interesting information about the history and present-day life of the city, and he answered all of my questions thoughtfully. The wine was amazing as well. On top of that, he gave me great recommendations for local places to eat. I would highly recommend this tour. Thank you, Mihai!

More than its description especially with Nicolai showing us these sights.
A great tour and the guide Nicolai was fantastic giving us a real overview of Moldova. We not only learned the political side of this interesting country but he took us through small villages showing us how they actually live. The wine tasting was superb and the vast quantities and different varieties is amazing. Thank you for such a great day.

Oleg came out if his way...
Oleg came out if his way to collect me as I was not inside the standard pick area. He was friendly with great knowlege of Moldova , its history and geography. The day was conducted at a good pace, Oleg took time to ask all his guests about who we where which was a nice touch. The Mux of Churches, the valley and thd wine tour was a great alternative to seeing just Chisinau and is a good day out to give you more perspective to Moldovian culture and its people
