Not Good

Valerie_C, Apr 2026
I’m perplexed by all the excellent reviews. I’ve participated in food tours in many countries. This was by far the worst. For the price there wasn’t enough food or tour. We were left alone for a long period of time while the guide went to find the panzerotti. He seemed annoyed by our questions. Honestly, it felt like the guide was phoning it in. There have to be better tours than this one.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. We regret that the pacing and amount of food felt insufficient, and we apologize for the moment when you were left waiting—this is certainly not the experience we aim to provide. We also take seriously your comments about the guide’s attitude, as we expect our team to be both attentive and engaged throughout the tour. Your observations are helpful and will be shared internally so we can review and improve both the structure of the tour and the overall guest experience. Kind regards

Great food tour with Nicholas

KAAN_C, Apr 2026
We had an incredible tour with Nicholas, and we had the opportunity to savor Bari’s renowned street foods. We thoroughly enjoyed them all, but the Focaccia Barese was the standout. Nicholas not only provided us with information about the food but also highlighted significant landmarks. We highly recommend this tour, giving it a perfect score of 10 out of 5!

Our guide Nicholas was terrific. His knowledge of Bari and Puglia was extensive and the place he took us for food tastings were varied and delicious. The focaccia was a treat! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Bari. We felt it was very good to do on our first day to get a feel for the area. We tried to of the dining spots he recommended and very pleased with our meals.

Ovrrcharged

medvetz4, Mar 2026
Honestly, I’d give this 2 stars because we were wildly overcharged. The website says $40 per person, but we were charged $271. This was an aggregious overpayment for the amount of food we received. Our guide was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and thorough. Wonderfully helpful pointing out interesting historical places and things in Bari. My only complaint was the lack of food for a “food tour.” We went to 4 spots and had 4 small nibbles..,one was shared. The focaccia was outstanding, but very small (think personal pizza size). The panzerotto was a deep fried pastry stuffed with tomato and mozzarella (size of a half of sandwich) Thankfully, we were given options at the third stop and I didn’t try the octopus (which my daughter loved), but my husband and daughter were encouraged to share 1 sandwich. The last stop was gelato. Outstanding. Best gelato in Italy. I feel strongly this tour would have been 5 stars if we were charged the correct price.

Dear Client, As already told, I feel like there's some kind of mistake as we do not offer this tour at that price... I'm glad to hear that you loved everything of ourr tour. Just please check where you got that info as we've never sold our tour at that price. We pride ourselves of serving just TOP quality food and with great local guides only, as such the price is truly paired to what offered. We appreciate you choosing us anyway! Have a lovely rest of the evening.

Knowledgeable and charming. Informative and helped get to know Bari and the cuisine. Food was good and the stories interesting

A great introduction to Bari and it’s traditional foods

Robert_L, Mar 2026
Giuseppe, a Bari-born tour guide gave us an excellent introduction to the Bari, old city and traditional Bari foods. Giuseppe has a great love for his city and it shows by his knowledge and enthusiasm for its food. We had four different food stops. Three involve a great deal of carbs. But oh-so delicious. Our favorite was the focaccia bread with its rich olive oil flavors. Highly recommended.

Bravo Nicholas!

JoAnne_R, Jan 2026
Nicholas was a gem of a guide—personable, knowledgeable and candid. As a native barese, he not only knew the best dishes to try, but the best restaurants to try them. We learned about and savored Focaccia Barese at Meh, the tenderest octopus sandwich with stracciatella and onions at lo sfizo del Borgo Antico, burrozza capocollo and panzerotto at Mastrociccio, and finished with swoon-worthy gelato at Antica Gelateria Gentile. He accompanied all of this with a guided tour through the labyrinthine alleys of Bari Vecchia, animating history with personal and often comical anecdotes. His stories of the nonnas and their orecchiette and how the old town has evolved from a perilous mafia stronghold to a tourist-friendly neighborhood were fascinating. He knows art and culture and takes contagious pride in his city.

Thanks to our amazing guide Giuseppe we had a wonderful evening. Being a local, his insight and knowledge of Bari was not just limited to the food. It was well worth it. Be prepared to eat a lot! Couldn’t be happier with our tour, Grazie

Aside from the delicious, freshly made food stops, Enzo, our guide, gave a brief history of Old Town, churches, castle, street where nonnas make pasta. A great introduction to visiting Bari for the first time, we loved it!

Don’t think twice. This is worth it!

Michelle_T, Sep 2025
Our guide did a fabulous tour of the city. Felt personalized and knowledgeable. Food was amazing Good and easy walk. Timing is for lunch. LOTS of food.

Not worth it

Adi_G, Sep 2025
Very little information about the city and its traditional food, we ate mostly dough products which were more of the same. Not very high quality. Definitely not good value for money. 75 euro per person for dishes that worth maybe 15-20 euro. Disappointing!!!!

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We’re sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. Please note that the price of the tour does not only reflect the cost of the food, but also covers the organization, the presence of a local guide to accompany you, and the commissions involved when booking through international platforms. That said, we understand your point about variety and quality, and we will certainly take your feedback into consideration to improve our tours and provide a more balanced experience. We truly appreciate your comments, as they help us refine what we do and ensure that our guests enjoy both the food and the cultural insights of Bari.

This was a great way to taste typical Barese foods and walk through the streets and alleys of old town Bari with a local. Nicola, our guide, was wonderful and shared his knowledge of the food and culture of his home town. He gave us information on where to eat and drink in Bari and nearby towns. This tour was great fun!

Thomas_K, Sep 2025
Nicholas gave us a fantastic food tour. You could tell he was very passionate and knowledgeable about the tour and the food we all tried. The actual food - octopus, focaccia, etc - was all very high quality (we checked, all locations visited had really great reviews on Google). Some locations had long lines, so the tour allowed us to skip them! We do have two suggestions for anyone considering this tour: 1) Do not eat much in the morning! Our tour started at 1130, and we regretted eating breakfast that morning :). All food served were regular portions, as if you were buying there on your own. We did a Naples food tour a couple days prior and there we could clearly see that the portions made for the tour were smaller than what the vendors offered normally. We assumed something similar for Bari, and therefore ate a regular breakfast that morning. We were unable to finish some of our food on this Bari tour, and we felt really bad about it because it was just so good. Nicholas did offer paper bags so that tour participants could take leftovers back with them. 2) Give yourself time to find parking in Bari, if renting a car. We tried a few spots and garages but they were full or only accepting full days. Street parking was impossible, didn't see any free spots close to the old city. After 20 min or so of searching we finally found a garage that allowed parking by the hour. Fortunately we arrived at the meeting point just barely on-time. One other person on our tour showed up 10-15min late due to parking issues.

Fun adventure with Great local cuisine

Thomas_B, Aug 2025
We had a great experience roaming around the city of Bari visiting local restaurants and cuisine throughout some interesting parts of the old town of the city. I would highly recommend this trip for those who like to try local cuisine and learn quite a bit of history about the area. Nicholas was very informative and made the trip extra fun. He knows the ins and outs of the city and is able to show us things that we’re both interesting and fun.

We had a great food tour with Nicolas. He provided us with interesting information all about Bari and the food we tried was all good. I'm sure we made his day with how we ate our panzerotto. All together he was a great guide who made the tour interesting and entertaining. Thank you Nicolas :)

Fab food tour - would highly recommend

Lauren_M, Aug 2025
We loved our food tour around Bari, we had some of the best food we have ever eaten and our tour guide was so knowledgable about the food and the area. I would highly recommend doing this tour to understand the area more and know the best local food and where to get this from.

Thomas_H, Aug 2025
Nicholas was a great guide! Not only did he give us the food tour, he told us all about the history of Bari as we walked through. We tried octopus and eggplant for the first time and loved it!

Not a great value or something chat GPT couldn’t tell you to do

vincentsaullo, Jul 2025
Only four stops (one being gelato) - stuff you see in all the shops. Was disappointed we didn’t even stop to see orecchiette being made on a food tour this long. I didn’t feel like there were any “insider tips” or anything about specific special spots or dishes. I think this was about 20€ of food and we paid 120$ CAD (~80 euro).

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Hi Vincent, Thank you for your review and for joining our tour. We’re sorry to hear you didn’t find the experience to be of great value. While we understand everyone has different expectations, our tours are carefully curated to provide not only food tastings but also cultural context, stories, and local insight that go far beyond what you might find online or through AI tools. All our guides are experienced locals who love sharing their city, and we’re proud of the consistently positive feedback we receive , as shown in the thousands of excellent reviews we’ve collected over time. That said, we always take guest feedback seriously and will reflect on your comments as we continue to improve. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. Warm regards,

Great food tour in Bari!

Elysia_P, Jul 2025
Most food tours give you a small amount of food to try, this gave large portions! We were very full by the end. Nicholas was great, gave us a lot of history and now we know how they kill the octopus!
