Tremendous day out with Rebecca. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The genuine local restaurant experience a particular high point but overall the whole experience was great with no stress involved with finding meeting points etc.

The lunch was wonderful! Good food and very nice ambiance in the restaurant. The trip to the vineyard and wine tasting was great! Best of all our guide was really good. Nothing was ever too much for him. We enjoyed this trip so much.

This tour was fantastic! My husband and I were lucky enough to be the only ones signed up that day and ended up getting a private tour with our guide Antoine from Spanish Trails. He was knowledgeable, easy to talk to and very patient and accommodating to our interests and needs (including my accessibility issues needing a cane for walking up inclines and stairs). The visit to Montserrat was beautiful and interesting, including the basilica, atrium, cloisters, the museum (which had an impressive collection of art work and a room with the old medieval walls), and the farmers market with samples. The Catalan lunch in Monistrol followed by a winery tour and tasting in the Penedès region were also interesting. Antoine himself is a lovely person who clearly enjoys his job and, given his experience, made the day as easy and enjoyable for us as he could. I would recommend this tour and Antoine as the guide for any excursions in and around Barcelona and region.

This was a wonderful excursion. José was an amazing tour guide- giving us a great history of the Monastery and the Montserrat area. The tour allowed for time to explore on our own in Montserrat- some of us did the funicular and some went to the art museum. The boys choir was excellent and we all had a great viewing of the Black Madonna. Lunch was at a local restaurant with amazing food and hosts who were proud of their food and service- we were the only tourists inside. The winery was beautiful and again the host from the winery was very knowledgeable and friendly. Wine was great and we bought a case! Would highly recommend this tour and any tours with José- great value for the price and wonderful to be a small group with just our party-6 total.

This was my favorite excursion of the week! The 9-hour itinerary was well planned and the van was clean and comfortable. We were lucky to have Stephan as our host for the day. He’s extremely knowledgeable and offers lots of interesting info throughout the entire tour. We learned so much! Stephan is very kind and thoughtful…making our trip to Monserrat a memorable one. We started the tour with a hike up the mountain overlooking the Monserrat monastery and could hear the sounds of the church bells ringing in the distance. The views are breathtaking, the lunch was delicious, and the winery offered tastings from several varieties of their awesome wine. If you are looking for a fantastic day with a great person, book this tour with Stephan!

Everything about this Spanish Trails tour was great. Our driver/guide, Ines, met us at the appointed time and was very personable and informative as she gave us history of Montserrat and led us through the area. I was especially impressed with the Museum and the boys choir. Lunch was in a rustic local restaurant with excellent food and wine. The tour at the winery in Penedes was also excellent as the hostess explained about the making and bottling of cava and showed us many items used in the past when grape harvesting and winemaking was done totally by hand. Because this tour involves quite a bit of driving, we appreciated the clean, comfortable vehicle used. This tour is highly recommended if you are interested in both Montserrat and wine.

The description of a small group was exactly as described! We did not expect it to be a group of 4 during our scheduled tour. Prior to the tour, we were expecting at most, 8 or 10 pax. Thus, a very pleasant surprise, when it was a group of 4. Spanish Trails kept its word - with the group small, it created an intimate group tour.
José was an excellent tour guide. Explaining in detail and with humor. We had a trainee with us, Inés. Truly enjoyable to have them.
The vehicle provided was comfortable too. Water provided during the start of the trip.
Vineyard in which we visited was an educational experience and serving quality wine.
Albeit, the group agreed that it would be nicer if we had a little bit more time at Montserrat before heading for lunch and thereafter, wine tasting.
Overall, I do recommend this experience with Spanish Trails. Especially for those who are looking to visit Montserrat, a very local experience at a village during lunch time and wine tasting for a full day activity.

Montserrat was well worth the trip. We especially enjoyed the choir boys' performance at 1PM. Our guide, Andrew, took us to a local restaurant in a nearby village where the food was local and delicious. The vineyard visit and wine tasting with the vintner,Jordi, was educational and informative. Spanish Trails is an excellent company with fab itineraries.

Great day out, sadly didn't see the choir though as they are on hols.
Lunch was fab and the guide was cool.
Unfortunately the air con on the bus was a bit inadequate for the super hot day but that's the only fault I can find.

Dan was great! Very friendly, informative but casual. We had plenty of time to do activities of our choosing at our own leisure if desired, but also not rushed by the group activities either. Had we been in Barcelona longer we would certainly have done another one of your tours with him.

Spanish Traiils, What a terrific Operator. Small Van, only 5 of us. We got to Motserrat army and got to see the major attractions before 35 coach loads arrived. And managed to get down the mountain before them too. Well planned. The lunch was amazing and so authentic. The winery was a really great piece of local culture and history. We were able to customise the day a bit due to 1 van and small group. Martin our guide was a proud and knowledgable local who also ensured we had all the knoweldge for the best bits of Barcelona afterwards. Nothing was too much trouble. A very easy pace. Relaxed itinerary. And all round amazing day to see the region. The only thing I would say is that the Museum At Montserrat is a MUST do. And this is not really explained or allocated a lot of time for. What a find, with original works by Monet. Picasso, Dali, Cessane, Rembrandt. Egyptian Mummies. And more. This alone is worth the trip to Montserrat.
