Gesa picked us up at the cruise ship and brought us to see the Gannet Colony. She is passionate about New Zealand and shares her wealth of knowledge along the way. She fit in a couple of quick stops at Wintergarden and Bastion Point, plus gave us excellent recommendations for things to do after our tour. I whole-heartedly endorse this experience!

Beautiful nature tour

This was a really nice tour. We wanted to see some of the more natural landscape of Auckland. Convenient pick-up. We went to the west coast of Auckland and saw the coast and drove/hiked through beautiful scenery. We especially loved seeing the gannet colony. I'd highly recommend this tour!

It was a wonderful tour of the Mercer Bay Loop, Piha Beach and the Rainforest. Gesa was very knowledgeable of the area and she made it really fun. She is a wonderful guide. I highly recommend this tour if you want to get out of Auckland and see some beautiful scenery.

Gesa customized a tour for us that included Piha Beach and Kitekite Falls Walk so we could see gorgeous parts of New Zealand that are not on a typical tour. She provided lots of interesting information to help us gain a better understanding of what we were experiencing. She is very personable and flexible and wants to make sure you get what you are looking for from a tour with her. We would absolutely go with her again. It was a great way to spend time in New Zealand.

Our tours with Gesa was fabulous! She took the time to individualize our trip so that we could explore the black sand beaches of Piha while also taking a nice stroll through a west coast rainforest. Amazing focus on nature with Gesa

Wow! This excursion was just so wonderful! Gesa was very knowledgeable and gracious. The shore, cliffs, and beach were beautiful. A cup of hot tea while overlooking Maukatia Bay was so lovely. The Muriwai Gannet Colony was an easy walk and we were able to observe them so closely. The hike in the rainforest on the Quarry Track was so lush, green, and peaceful. Gesa was very flexible and kind to my 88-year-old mother. It allowed me to explore a bit while she kept mom company and Mom adored her. I wholeheartedly recommend this excursion. If you are visiting New Zealand, this is everything you pictured it would be. The individual tour is so worth the price. You will not be disappointed.

We only had 2 days in Auckland -one day to see the city and wanted to do something else for day 2. Gesa was amazing! She gave us all this incredible information, took us to places where the tour buses cannot go and we got to see a local's perspective. Great conversation and knowledge. We loved going to see the gannet colony and seeing the birds from up close with their little babies. We also got there at the right time to be able to go through the cave on the beach which was cool. This tour showed us the New Zealand that we had in our minds with the green hills, the sheep, some hiking and nature. Highly recommend this tour!

Great Day with Gesa

We spent a beautiful morning touring with our guide Gesa. We requested an active walking nature tour on the west coast and that is what we got. Gesa picked us up from the cruise terminal and whisked us off to the west coast ahead of all the large bus tours. We started by visiting Maukatia Bay and exploring a cave in the side of cliff. The cave stretched from the beach side of the cliff to a direct ocean opening. We were lucky enough to catch the cave at low tide so we could access the cave. Next we visited Otakamiro Point, with its steep cliffs and rocky nesting areas that are home to the region's only colony of Gannets. We spent a little time watching the birds and photographing them from three different vantage points. We took a few pictures of the black sand beach at Muriwai Beach on the way back to the Van. And then we were headed back to Auckland and a stop at Maungakiekie, or One Tree Hill, one of Auckland’s most iconic mountains. The view of the city from the summit was fantastic. There was a full 360° view of Auckland from the summit, which is almost one mile from the nearest parking area. We had a great time visiting Auckland and the west coast with Gesa. Our tour may have been more active than some would like, but that is no problem for Gesa.
