Recently I had the opportunity to take this tour. I was travelling alone so I wanted an experience that would help me truly connect with the city and understand its history.
From the beginning everything was well organized. The itinerary was perfectly planned covering the most important highlights of Athens while still allowing enough time to enjoy each location. The driver-guide Ruslan was very kind and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour.

Having only a few hours in Athens during a layover, I decided to book a private tour with Colours of Greece — and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I made. Ruslan, who was my driver and guide, arrived right on time in a fantastic, spacious, and luxurious Mercedes SUV.
During the drive, he shared the history of Greece — and especially Athens — from prehistoric times all the way to the present day, making the journey incredibly engaging and informative.
We arrived at the Acropolis, where I purchased my ticket from the office next to the entrance. As I passed through the gates, a childhood dream came true — I was standing in front of one of the most important monuments in human history.
After visiting the Acropolis, we stopped in front of the Old Royal Palace, where I had the chance to admire the Changing of the Guard with their perfectly synchronized movements. We then visited the largest marble stadium in the world, where the first modern Olympic Games were held.
Next, we drove up to the highest point in the city, where I admired the breathtaking view of thousands of buildings stretching all the way to the Aegean Sea.
I also have to mention Plaka — a place that feels like stepping into another era — along with Monastiraki and its vibrant market.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have the energy to visit the Ancient Agora, which was the heart of ancient Athens, but I promise I will return soon.

I recently had the pleasure of joining a tour in Athens, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The city itself is a fascinating blend of ancient history and vibrant modern life, and this tour captured that balance perfectly.
We visited some of the most iconic landmarks, including breathtaking ancient ruins and scenic viewpoint that offered stunning panorama of the city. Each stop was thoughtfully chosen, allowing me to appreciate not only the historical significance but also the beauty and atmosphere of Athens.
What truly elevated the experience, however, was my driver- guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and engaging throughout the entire tour. His storytelling brought the history to life in a way that felt both informative and entertaining. He was also very attentive, making sure everyone felt comfortable and included, and was always happy to answer questions or provide extra insights.
I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the city.

Constantine went out of his way to ensure our private tour included all that we wanted. He was also instrumental in ensuring we acquired tickets to the Acropolis and had enough time at each location to enjoy our visit. He provided great information as we drove through the city and prior to entering the sites even though he did not enter the sites with us as a tour guide (which was explained in the viator tour description).

If u have mobility issues there is an elevator at acropolis and walkways are smooth to get around. Some paths are rocky but u don't need to go there to see everything

This was a perfect experience for our first full day in Athens. Ruslan has a very warm personality. While there were the top sites to see, he asked us our interests at the outset and then made special stops on the way to the main points of interest based on us asking to see churches of interest. Ask him about the Orthodox Church dedicated to Saint Dionysius. It was definitely worth the visit. Ruslan was a wealth of knowledge on Greek history. He gave a lunch recommendation that was phenomenal. We highly recommend this company and tour!

Our driver was Dimitris and he was great! We only had a day in Athens and Dimitris took us to all the Athens highlights, while expertly weaving through the crazy Athens traffic. We hiked up to the tallest hill to get a beautiful overview of all of Athens and Acropolis as well as some great spots for pictures. The Acropolis was sold out of tickets on our day so he took us to the Ancient Agora instead, a mini-Acropolis and we avoided the 20,000 tourists climbing up to the Acropolis. Best way to see Athens is by private car. Highly recommend Dimitris!

Michaelis picked us up for our tour after our original driver had auto troubles. He was able to fix our Acropolis tickets to another time since we were so late. He was wonderful with the history and the sights to see. He made sure we had a great time and was so thoughtful. I would definitely recommend his am a guide!

First time in Athens and we were able to see all that was on the itinerary plus passed by the Market and got to have Greek beer
George was our guide, friendly, knowledgeable and gave us plenty of time at each stop to enjoy the sites and pictures. He gave us directions so we could go back to the places on our own.

Nik was great and gave us information about each highlight. This is a great tour for when you do not want to walk everywhere and see things quickly for a preview. We did not go to Acropolis, so technically saved 2 hours of time for this tour. Asked if we could see Psirris, but the driver was not willing to go there and ended the tour. Only thing that was slightly disappointing. The car was clean and cool. The he gave enough time at many of the sites.

We skipped the expensive ship tour and decided to go on a private tour and can’t believe we saved close to half of what Princess was charging for this highlight tour of Athens. Thank you to our driver and your guy for the wonderful history of Greece he shared with us. For anyone thinking about it, no need to think twice. We started the tour at 8:30 am and we’re back on the ship by 1:30 pm. You have total control of what time to be back on the ship and you are traveling in a very comfortable vehicle with ac. Can’t recommend this tour company enough. Thank you to Konstantino (driver and tour guide) for a wonderful time.
